sorrowsmiles13 Weird how the Americans call their garden a ‘back yard’. To me, a back yard would be nothing more than a small concrete area with no grass or shrubs etc.
JadonGamer Exactly dear, we have gardens with plants and trees. A “back yard” sounds like it must be a concrete area with nothing in it. I think it originates from all the Irish immigrants to the USA who never had a garden as they were too poor.
If it happened in 2006 or 2010 and if I was there I'd have a full blown panic attack do to me living thou a tornado when I was 9 going on 10 years old but I'm 31 now and storms do bother me that much anymore but I'm more on edge then anything nowadays
@@janheard3826 tf xD why would that be considered a back yard? Unless you live in the city then no, a back yard is not going to be just concrete with nothing else on it.
I think the part that fascinated me the most was your immovable patio furniture. I kept waiting for that grill to tip over and the umbrella to fly away.
And that play set.... mine Would be been down the road. I think I was driving through a rain bomb one a few years ago. We were returning from the NC coast and getting on hwy 64 in Tarboro heading to rocky mount. We hit some major rain. I had to pull over under an over pass because the winds were so strong and virtually no visibility in the rain. I'm from S. FL and I've been through several hurricanes but I've never experienced that before. Pretty intense.
very intense. i don't really know how those trees survived so well, but likely do to the tight clustering and the fact the trees showed lots of flexibility in that craziness
Yeah usually pines snap like tooth picks during winds of that magnitude. I worry about the ones we have during some storms but they always seem to make it
Experienced this exact same thing on May 4th 2017 in Lacey, Washington. It came out of nowhere, and lasted around 5 minutes. While all of the trees were falling for a few seconds I actually thought I was going to die, it was that intense. The top of a large cedar tree broke off and hit the corner of my house breaking an outdoor pipe connected to a garden hose and cosmetic damage to the roof. The roof still hasn't been repaired, because of the backlog of homes needing repairs. Crazy!
Was hit by a powerful microburst while moving into my current house, driving down the road when it struck three years ago. I thought a tornado might be forming and was about to touch down right on top of my car. Word around town was that a tornado had touched down, but that was simply misinformation. I had learned that we were hit by a powerful microburst, something I had never heard of before. Ever since then, I was always fascinated by microbursts.
This is one of the best microburst videos I've ever seen! I can't imagine actually looking up at that flying by in the sky, but if I ever encountered such a storm I would like to see it.
I was "tapped" by a wet microburst last summer. In my yard though, all that happened was a dead branch was blown from my Oak tree. Go down a tenth of a mile to the east though, there were several trees blown over, and the park by the river also had 2 trees blown down. And then....back to normal, other than everything being wet. About 60-65 mph in the burst.
Finally! A weather-related video without a bunch of cursing, blasphemy, profanity...like you find in a bunch of videos like these! Great video! I'm in (subscribed, that is)!!!
People who have not experienced a wet microburst really don't appreciate how intense these storms can be! I just barely made it to my car back in July, 2012 when a wet microburst hit. I drove across the street to a Speedy gas station, thinking that the cover over the gasoline pumps would offer some sort of protection, but the wind stripped the cover off! The microburst lasted all of five minutes, but knocked out power to a large area of the city.
Just had one of these at our cabin, some of the scariest 5min I hope to ever experience, awe inspiring in hindsight. Lost 12 trees, one landed 5ft from the back deck.
The worst part, if you own a home and have a fair amount of trees, they get destroyed. These micro-bursts bring the leaves and branches, so fast. We had one in 2010, in Columbus, Ohio. My trees and shrubs, got beat up. Friends had evergreen pine trees, whose trunks snapped. Wind and the weight of the rain, coming down in torrents, did it.
I think you can be forgiven for the shakiness. Also, you have a blind audience of 1, and who knows; there could even be more. And even though we can't see the video, the audio says it all. (For those who don't know how we can type, let me encourage you to learn how to type from memory. It takes some practice, but it'll do you much good. I do, and I hear what I type, as my screen-reading software tells me what I'm typing. This way, I can correct my mistakes as I go or when I proofread my work.)
BBQ 1 MICROBURST 0
Through it all, that grill stands there like a *BOSS*
My thoughts exactly lol
hahahaha i was thinking the same
I gave the 100th like
i think the parasol deserves some respect too
The grill is even t posing
Am I the only one who loves this kind of weather? Its just awesome!
For some reason I LOVE seeing tiny things or anything fly away in a storm for that matter... So no your not the only one.
The_Geck Agreed, but losing power for a week after kinda sucks.
I am a little obsessed as well 😬. This was straight Gnarles Barkley.
yes, uk, besides it being a sign of rapidly increasing climate change...
Julian Shively is that why tornadoes and severe weather are dramatically down over the past 5-6 years?

how the heck did that umbrella survive?!?!
some cool footage!

That was a good microburst. They can be pretty startling.

looks like the clouds came down from the sky.

@@MultiStorm15 Oh yeah nice to see you here lol. While that is true, during storm I never see problems with them
@@MultiStorm15 a lot of pines are quite flexible. A maple is more likely to snap in strong winds.
Nice, you got a free power wash and landscape pruning courtesy of mother nature. Merry Christmas early.
TheOriginalWJJS not for the other side of his house.
And some free ice for your hot drink! 😂😂😂
Congratulations. You won the weather lottery.

I've heard a lot about that storm. Something I'd never expect in Washington
That was a true wet microburst. At least it wasn't very destructive.
Thanks for posting.
I kept expecting to see that trees had broken off or fallen when the view cleared. I'm surprised that didn't happen.
+J. Hanna good point.
You must have thought it was the end of the world for a minute or so. Thanks for the upload and glad to know you or your family were not injured.
Now that’s what I call severe straight line winds! Downdrafts with this squall line must have been incredible!

What a beautiful backyard, reminds me of my uncle's home in Alabama
You have an incredible backyard and the weather dynamic just makes it better imo.
It should be possible for you to swim to the top of the trees
But only with an trident
Jinger Partin so it would seem
@@regnij01 A trident alone can't make you swim like that you also need riptide 3 enchant *and yes ik it's a joke*
I thought the pine patch was coming down. They call them water spouts here on the Western end of the Old North.

Thats a Microburst... Not a Storm. Poor Grill...
i cannt tell you how many times ive been in one of these, actually rode my bike in one also that was interesting.
and I just found this video now. wow this is so awesome...i love rain, storm content
Microbursts are very powerful and are a major threat to Aviation. And have brought down Planes in the past.
Very surprised you didn't lose some of the pine trees in the background. Good video!

Looked like last night across NC and Va
How did you know this was coming? Amazing!
Smokin' Bill I actually had no idea this was coming. I just wanted to video some hail because I saw that on radar.
Great timing, man. It would be so intense to actually be there.
Love how your shed gets pushed over and then put back down.
"wow" is right HOLY
That's some proper "Wizard of Oz" storming right there.
Now this is a storm when it shuts you up every time you try too talk 👌
at least yall are safe and the grill survived. bring on the dogs
That was crazy! watching it agian.
Excellant if you want to take an instant brief shower without heading to the bathroom! Saves money on water bills too.Just add soap, washrag and towel.
Now that's my kind of weather, I'd do anything to be there!
Is it my imagination or are storms getting more agressive over the years? I'm elderly and grew up in Kansas (tornado alley) and it just seems like it.
WOW! Amazing microburst!
CRAZY
Is any difference between cloudburst and microburst or not ..?
Winds over 150 sometimes. I love those things
Was your dog inside?
Ha! yeah, she was probably under the bed!
If I was you, I will run outside and have fun with the rain and wind just like epic warriors!
in the middle of the video the ''carwash'' tune started vibbing in my head. Am I strange?
I would have been scared it was a tornado and grabbed my dog and hightailed it to the basement.
Imagine being a flying bird in this microbursts. Ohohoh shiettttt!
Nothing "micro" about that.. Dang that's a long one.. Wow is right!

No one was going to flip the burgers during that?
That happened in *_my_* state!?
I would've worried that a tornado was nearby, seeing how heavy that wind was.
Dude this location !! ❤️
Intense and Awesome!
Love it 😍 but I would've freaked out 😱
35 mph gusts. 200mm/h rate of precipitation.
do you get notices on them?
Unfortunately not. Wet microbursts come and go too fast in between radar scans
Looks like the eye of a hurricane in the Caribbean 😁
Are there such things as dry microbursts? [ pokes at title :p ]
Wow! Incredible!
Mother Nature shows who's The Boss.
awesom 😁 love it
This is what being in a tornado feels like but worse
Heaven😍
That is NOT a microburst. That is a storm

I like you have a pine forest at the backyard
Why is there no lighting
