Hi Aaron, I enjoyed the video, I have a floppy drive I'll go back too and try your spring adjustment, thanks! The clear reverse socket that goes over the 68000 is called a Killy clip. Lots of period correct accelerators are missing their Killy clip because they often get left behind on the original machine so you may want to save that to pair up with an accelerator. They don't make those any more and the only modern alternative is to solder a socket on top of the processor.

Those Killy clips are also rather fragile. If you have to remove one from the chip it's on, proceed with caution.

If there's a way for you to reproduce that sticker on the side, I'd buy one from you! Love it! (Yes, I would put it on the same spot as my Mac Plus.)
Re: The accellerator board. It's a dual model card. It clips onto the CPU itself with the Plus and maybe Classic, but connects via the PDS slot on a SE. Nothing funky about it. Look at the chips and you'll probably find a 68020 or 68030 on the board itself - ie it's the accelerator board that you've been looking for all along. That CPU clip-on is probably super fragile - so don't remove the card unless you really have to. The accelerator board itself is probably worth a few hundred bucks - so store it more safely than in your "spare parts box".

I'm not a big Mac or Apple fan, but that's just me. Your troubleshooting path tends to include some "looking over your shoulder" to find things you missed on the first pass. That's actually just how it goes sometimes, so it's a good thing you include that in your videos. Folks watching should know from seeing you do it that it's not a bad thing if you can systematically retrace your steps and re-check. I'll be back for your next video, no matter what it's about, even if it's about a Mac.
Near the end of the run of the Plus, they became "Platinum" in colour rather than the more beige like original. I'm guessing you've got one of each there,
Glad you were able to pinpoint that cracked solder join, sometimes finding such things can be a real hassle.

@@RetroHackShack lol. Same here. Subscribed from Australia. All the vintage PC's are drying up so fast now and most are being recycled however as expected Apple Macintosh vintage were so expensive that a lot of them have been kept by owners and or bought up by collectors like me. Depending on who owned the Apple computers I can still obtain really nice units for peanuts. It's a fun past time and brings back so many fond memories to my 65 year old brain! Great videos. I'll watch them all.

I think that connector you see on the accelerator board might just be a PDS pass-through, since that board may also work on an SE.
6:07 Adrian just tried out a similar board in his latest SMMC! if the drivers for that MicroMac are still there, you might be able to help him get his board working again!

The screen geometry should be set such that the blinking floppy icon measures 11x11mm exactly.
There is supposed to be a thick border on the top and sides otherwise the image is no longer square and may be blurry in the corners.
