I used to get to watch these adorable shows back in the first grade. You know you are a product of the 1980's when you are a tiny kid and you had a crush on Michael J. Fox back in the day. Ahh memories.
The opening credits are from Season 2 and 3 (1983-1985) of "Family Ties". It shows a hand painting a picture of the Keaton family, as well as interacting with clips from various episodes. Their names appear onscreen over faces of the Keaton family. It ends with a shot of the Keaton family in a completed oil painting. A rerecorded version of "Without Us" is used, which stayed until the show's ending on May 14, 1989.
My best friend and I watched every week and sang along to the theme song taking turns doing the male and female vocals. Never missed the opening theme. Shout out to Katie Syverud! I’m going to send her this link right now! Lol
I'm 20 now and I watched this show like a a year or so ago. I bought the whole boxset and to this day, i don't think i've laughed harder at a tv show than Family Ties!
I first saw Family ties airing on Star World (An Indian channel where American shows are broadcasted),my sis was watching this after i came home from school and then in no time started to like the show and the theme 😍❤
I can remember that I had this huge crush for Michael J. Fox a.k.a. Alex P. Keaton. Loved him, especially in the shower towel scene upstairs trying to get into the upstairs bathroom. He looked so good in that towel
THAT was long enough (1982-1989)!!!!!! Interesting how some TV series, only "work" under one U.S. President (e.g., "The Man From U. N..C.L.E. and LBJ, etc.)
CORRECTION: this is the 1983-89 theme. The 1982 theme had different music & different singers (though the lyrics were the same). I actually prefer the first year's theme /
All dressed up like a famous tv show it ain't live it's murder. Murder of the daughter of an overnight employee who was always at work leaving her kids home with her teenage daughter who got murdered.
Believe it or not, I play this theme song at least twice a week. Make me feel so good just listening to this.
Every Monday morning I play the perfect strangers opening it helps me attack my week

watching this in 2021 as a 16 yr old, and these kinda shows are so fun to watch!!! the feelings for micheal are mutual 😳
Yeah he was and still is the most handsomest American guy 😍❤❤
Both the father and the son on Family Ties as far as actors are concerned each have the same first name of Michael.
I never noticed that the audio is distorted. Has this happened to others as well?
Sure feels good to hear this theme song! Brings back so many memories being young....
True!!!!
One of my favourite TV programmes of 80"s was crying at the very last episode it was so sad Michael j fox was awesome
one of the greatest themes ever...
You’re right about that!!!
👏😍
I'm 39 and miss being a little kid back in those days. A much simpler time

This show received high ratings just for the theme song alone.
Back to the '80!!

The first generation of must-see TV.
Life was more enjoyable back then.
"WandaVision" brought me here

Came here after WandaVision :)
Same
They don't make TV shows like this anymore.
Johnny Mathis and Deniece Williams ... Legendary ❤
Jami Gertz and Daphne Zuniga both guest starring in the same episode of a sitcom? That cast was stacked!
Alex Keaton and Marty McFly - two roles Michael J Fox will be remembered for
so much memories
Quando mia sorella grande ci lascia dai nostri genitori mia nipote Gloria
I knew the theme song voices sounded familiar... Johnny Mathis and Denise Williams. That's why I liked it so much.
Life without the internet was simpler and so much happier.
The world was bigger too.
Justine Bateman simply beautiful!
Simply hot!
I used to watch It in Brazil good old times
HOLA QUISIERA VOLVER A VER LA SERIE ME ENCANTA ....ERAN MUY DIVERTIDOS
It is funny we identify these people as a real family despite looking nothing alike. But Justine Bateman looks exactly like her little brother Jason.
Only became a "hit" when NBC aired it right after "Bill Cosby."
I watched on wednesday afternoons in Brazil
Family ties is a funny show it makes me laugh
That was Tom Scott on the sax playing the end titles.
Jason Nadle i always tried to find this intro with saxaphone...damm good intro song
sit ubu sit,good dog. woof!
@@murdock2143 :') 💗💗💗💗💗
He wrote the tune with Jeff Barry. It's a great song. Sung by Johnny Mathis and Denise Williams.

Nicoula as Michael J. Fox
I wanted to be a part of that family.
0:55 Why is Justine Bateman's arm missing or entering the belly of Michael J. Fox?
