This trimmer really is amazing...even if it doesn't look it! The plastic really put me off at first, but it is a superb trimmer. Love the dotted lines for paper placement for card making and as you said, it really cuts straight!
Its been on my Wishlist a long time - didn't realise it had markings on the grid, so I might take the plunge and get one as my little 6" fiskers simmer broke a few months ago.
the finger guard, whilst essential, needs to be spring loaded so that you can get paper or card under it. You proved my point early in your video when you struggled to get a single sheet of paper under it. A spring that raises the guard a few milimetres would be a vast improvement. Hopefully the designer of this expensive product listens to reviews and comments. In the meantime, does anyone know a way to add a spring to this guard so card makers with shaky hands can still use it without the constant struggle the finger guard causes.
That's a good point Jumbeen. It's a small thing that could be a huge improvement. I'm not sure how you would add a spring though. I wish I could help you more!
Thank you for that...I just have the slidey?🤣 type but it does do 12 x 12 as soon as you mentioned this would only take a4....I thought nah....save your money Jane 👏 so one again thank you...spend it on a new lippy 🤣🤣🤣 regards Jane...North Wales UK 🇬🇧...wishing you a very happy Christmas 🎄 x
You're welcome. I really love this trimmer. I just use it in concert with my 12 x 12, but I find I very rarely cut those big pages these days. Enjoy your new lippy xxx
Thank you so much for reviewing! Would you recommend this for precise and straight cutting for 300gsm or thick card stock? I purchased a Fiskars deluxe cutter and I am disappointed at how inaccurate it is and not straight.
Hi Biserka. I've cut lots of super thick cardstock and never had an issue. The ability for this to cut straight is its best feature. Trust me, you'll love this one!
Ooo I think I need one 😍 I have two trimmers and I can’t cut straight or crisply on either. It drives me batty. How does it go with multiple sheets? Like a little printable tn or the like? Or thicker card/vellum/acetate? This might jump the queue over a die cut thingo 😅
This thing will cut anything. It is amazing.its a lot cheaper than a diecutting machine though. You might think about finding a special and get them both.
Die cut machines and this are two very different things. But this was on top of my list over the die cut machine. So far I've had no issue cutting anything.. thick cardstock, vellum, acetate, tissue paper.. its a dream!

Me too Marilyn. The plastic I thought would be flimsy, but it's really not! Such a fab product!

I didn't think I'd go to guillotine style, but this is just too good. Perfect little trimmer for those itsy bitsy projects!

@@PlumMashable Thank you so much! I ended up getting one, just waiting for it to come in. So excited to test it out 😊
@@biserkalakic469 hi! How good is it? Does it cut 300g paper?
@@policromatica Hi, it is really good! I an happy with it, and yes it does cut 300gsm paper. Definitely worth it 😄
When you got your trimmer. Was there any instruction manual or packaging on your trimmer inside the box?
I don't think so. Are you having trouble with something in particular? DM me on Facebook or Instagram and I can try to help :)
Two things i would not be without from tim holtz.... my trimmer and the scissors. I have all the sizes in the scissors!
I haven't done the scissors.. and I'm scared to try them cos I think once I do I'll need them!!!
@@PlumMashable the scissors are really good. Worth every single cent.

Agree Miranda! Thanks for commenting!
Can this cut chipboard as thick as a cereal box?
Absolutely Jen! I can cut chipboard and thick magnetic sheets with this. Works perfectly!
Is it self sharpening?
Hi Victoria. I don't think so. I've never needed to sharpen it though! I hope that helps.
