As a dancer I have to stretch very often and try to get in some stretching everyday. To be honest though, I have been slacking off lately cause this year has been rough.
same. during quartine i started stretchung to get my middle splits. But now I'm juggling school and homework and I've been slacking. any tips?
@@bumblebee4636 something I’ve found helps with that is doing a little bit of stretching between homework assignments and (if you’re online) doing stretches during classes. That’s what I do, and I also put it in my night routine which helps me with stretching more often and also getting better sleep at night.

@@bumblebee4636 don't worry i feel u. Sometimes I start stretching while watching TV. Anyway, hope it gets easier for you soon as summer is coming up (yay!) Hope this helps.
@@bumblebee4636 I get you. It’s extremely hard to juggle school and other stuff, especially if you have ur gcse mocks coming up like me. Although I’m not in the best place right now I do have some tips.
1) be easy on yourself. At first focus on getting through school and doing your homework. Once you’re comfortable with that slower add more things into your routine (more self care, stretching, other hobbies).
2) keep a list of what you’re gonna do during the day and try to stick to it. It really helps me if I have something to follow
3) make sure you’re having a cool down time at the end of the day. You could do hobbies, meditate, nap or anything that you enjoy and can relax while doing.
I can’t think of anymore but this is all I can think of. Also if you really haven’t got the energy to do anymore than school and homework, don’t be harsh on yourself. At the minute I’m at one of my lowest points, however I’m trying to be easy on myself until I’m feeling better. Last of all if you’re feeling really unmotivated and down please ask for help :]

Ikr, that’s what happened to them as ex-gymnasts/cheerleaders and bc they didn’t continue to stay flexible after quitting their sport(s).
Yeah maintaining skills and flexibility is hard training working out having practice and stretching everyday Is the way to go but I love their progress and how even stretching before and after the progress and everyone is gonna lose it one day

Megan, hip flexors aren't supposed to be stretched harshly, from what I've learnt over the years we should be careful with stretching them and keep it minimal!!! :) I've had a hip flexor popping issue from forcing mine for some years and it's never stopped even though I'm easing it down! Stay safe
I stretch about 11 times a week because I'm a dance teacher and have to lead the stretches lol

I went a whopping three days in a row stretching before giving up 😂😭 and I was doing Anna mcnulty’s 30 day challenge lolol
I started stretching daily on March 13th 2020 and am still going strong!

I got my side splits in 1-2 months and it was worth it bc it was calming and fun and I can finally ‘show off’ and atm I’m trying to do my overspilt 😬 that’s probably gonna take AGES but it will be FUNNN heh. ANYWAYS I really love y’all’s videos! 🤠

Thx, Maggie for the tip for getting the middle splits. I used to be a dancer, am not an athlete, am a little bit flexible, but wants to be a lot more flexible. I want to get the splits and a leg hold, so I especially admire that you guys are at least probably a lot more flexible than me. Ik I could do stretching routines on UA-cam and stuff, but I don’t really feel like I would remember to do it every day, plus, I’m kind of too lazy to.

I should probably try these stretches. I’m trying to get a grant for a dance school this summer. I don’t have the best confidence so I’m just gonna polish off my flexibility and strength (although my dance teacher is satisfied with those lol)

Im a cheerleader trainee, and when i was a tryout i was already pretty flexible since before everything i used to do on and off flexibility excersices, but it took me less than a week to actually complete a front split and the following week i completed my right and left splits!

I try to stretch everyday to get me splits but for some reason they don’t get much better! 😢

You’ll get there eventually! Remember everyone’s bodies are different and that’s ok! Some people are naturally more flexible, doesn’t mean you can’t get your splits. When I did gymnastics, I got my left splits in like a couple months and after like 5-6 months I hadn’t got my middle splits. It’s different for everybody. You can do this!
How often do you stretch
Ciara's was not as much for stretching as for training develope leg hold things, idk what they are called, dancers use them all the time in ballet, it's more strengthening for dancers looking to get that specific skill

I feel like the stretches Ciera did were meant for improving your standing splits rather than your normal splits.
I do yoga a few times a week whicj helps with flexibility but dont stretch outside of doing yoga

I almost never stretch. Truthfully, most of the time I am lazy and tired, (bc I go to bed late, and know I shouldn’t). And I feel like I would forget to stretch every day if I did a stretch routine or something like that. And I would prob get sore or sum.
Ex- gymnast here! I stretched and did strength training everyday for almost a year.And I got used to the soreness pretty quickly!
Another hack for splits is just to hold your splits for 3 minutes
