Former hotel housekeeper here!👋🏻 Not only do I approve of everything done here, but I do it myself when I travel. Folks....housekeeping does NOT have time to deep clean the rooms in between guests. They usually only have a couple of hours between check-out and check-in times to clean dozens of rooms. Management only required the "appearance" of cleanliness, if you catch my drift. If you knew what I know, you'd be traveling with cleaning supplies too and I never allow housekeeping during my stay. I just do a towel exchange. I am NOT bagging on housekeepers either. I just know first-hand the amount of work they have to do in a short time-frame is nearly impossible.
Oh interesting! Could you elaborate a bit more about what they do and do not clean? And what do you clean when you’re staying at hotels? I too never allow housekeeping mostly because I hate when they put the throw pillows on the bed🤢
Deep house and rental house cleaner here. We had a client that unknowingly brought bed bugs home after traveling and had to have their whole home treated. I dont want to scare people into not traveling, but it's certainly worth it to take 3 minutes and check your hotel/rental beds.

I just love this , I worked for hotels for years and they are never all the way cleaned, they cut corners a lot cause you only have 28-30 minutes to clean and a lot of times they leave the fitted sheets on and just fan them off a little if the pillow case looks unused they will not change it as well if the floor doesn’t show crumbs they will not vacuum it either !! So yes you have to be very careful because hotel’s and Air BNB are still somewhat dirty !! Keep going I love your videos 🌸🫶🏽🌸🫶🏽

Omggg I use to suffer with hives for like 15yrs, my lips hands I hives as large as my hands were on my body. Im.so glad I have them under control now. The itching was the worse part.

Hunty this is inspiring. We all need to be just a little more careful with ourselves by protecting us against what we can’t see when we’re staying at these hotels. Even 15 minutes can make a heck of difference
I found my cleaning twin 👯♀️! I do the same routine, down to the little towel by the sink for the personal care stuff. So funny! We also have designated shower sandals we use for travel 😌.
I just want to say that your videos really help my anxiety. I don’t know why but sometimes when I feel that awful anxious buildup in my chest I turn to your videos for comfort. Basically I just want to say thank you.
I must admit I do a “light” clean and spray microban however I plan on doing more travel this year and I have such a bug phobia sometimes I find it hard to sleep at hotels so I decided to start taking travel sheets, and doing a full clean at any hotel I stay from now on this will help me relax and enjoy myself more❤

After working at a hotel for a year and a half and knowing what the duties of housekeeping is, I been doing this EVERYTIME I stay at a hotel. They only need the room to appear clean and we only deep cleans if it was “necessary” and annually. So yea she got the right idea

I don't know if you will see this or answer, but i want to ask if you check your luggage or just drive when you travel? I would LOVE to clean like this but I've had luggage lost more than once so i never check in my bag, I'm strictly carry-on only. From aesthetic/calming content perspective. I love ALL of this! realistically? I cannot help but try to calculate how much all this travel size/single use cleaning stuff would cost. Its probably not a lot, but say adds another 50 bucks, because we cant be carrying full size cleaning supplies when we travel. I take lysol wipes with me and wipe down most surfaces when i am in a Hotel room. Travel isnt cheap anymore so im all about budget at this time!
I been doing this all my life too. Dont travel now, but prior to covid going on campus for classes, i kept sanitizer and wipes with me to wipe down any table or desk i sat in publicly or classroom. And this was common at work at a desk. Like hospitals arent clean either and you definitely need to wipe and scan things before hand. ❤ love this
Niki i used to be head housekeeper of a motel and i would have LOVED having you on my team!!! I always had to go check the rooms and ALWAYS had to have the girls go back over the rooms until i knew it was thoroughly clean!! You would have been such an asset!!! The fact there was still dirt on the clothes was just yuk!!! So i don't blame you for doing this.

I always did it(cleaning in hotel rooms)... even in "Langham" in London UK (...yeah that one at Portland place)...they had housekeeping from ex-Soviet country ..from Russia n Ukrain..n it was so bad service n lots of my items was stolen by housekeeping...n before you go to hotel ask where from stuff...if russian/ukranian never go there... My bad experience confirms it!!! Luckily in Austria stuff were from Phillipines ❤❤❤
Years ago 20/20 did a special on the uncleanliness of hotels from the most expensive to the cheapest. What she’s doing IS NOT overkill at all. I always take cleaning supplies, sheets, comforter and towels when I stay at hotels. I’ve been like that for yyyeeeaaarrssss. Never ever do I trust it.
While my family stands in the hallway with our luggage, I check for bedbugs first. Then before unpacking I clean all surfaces, and door handles and light switches. I put the remote in a ziplock bag. I only stay at chains that wash the duvet cover after each guest, so I feel better.
I agree with some of the cleaning that's a must, but that many perfumes and toiletries is a lot. I counted thirty or More bottles. This beautiful but to pack all that back up would send me. Good video 😊

I'm glad thst someone else cleans a hotel room like me!! I also take my own lavatory seat that screws on over the lavatory bowl so I don't need to sit where anyone else has. I take my own bedding and towels too.
Thank you for showing the door stop alarm! I never travel without an alarm and a carbon monoxide/smoke detector. So many stories of people passing from CM poisoning in hotels, that it just makes sense to me. *Don't put the batteries in until you get to your destination, though - all you need is for the smoke alarm to go off during your flight! I would urge everyone to keep this alarm in their travel bag, especially if they are traveling alone. Before I got smart (as if I am now!) I was staying at a nice hotel and was changing when a man walked into my room! Apparently the front desk had somehow decided I had checked out and had given this man my room. This was before key cards so it meant the desk was not accounting for each room's keys. Fortunately the man was very nice, and backed out immediately, but standing there nekked in nothing but a towel and talking to a man I did not know was definitely the most "exciting" thing on that trip!
I am so doing this I have wiped, but not like this. You go above and beyond but you are so thorough and think of everything absolutely love your videos! I have to find some of these things that you have that you travel with, and that you just actually use every day cleaning wise and your personal regimen😊

Is it safe to touch and breath so much lysol wipes and lysol spray? I was wondering if we should then use a wipe with water afterwards so our skin is not touching so many chemicals. Also, to use gloves and a mask
Girl, ALL OF THIS. Some people do not disinfect anything and just hop in the bed like they are at home. Um, NO. I bring my own pillow, sheets, blanket, and also disinfect exactly like you did. Also ALWAYS wear shoes and/or slippers while walking in the room. My husband has worked in 5 star hotels and you would not believe the way they DO NOT disinfect. Do they wipe down surfaces? Yes. Does it look clean to the naked eye? Yes. Is it clean? Absolutely NOT!
I know this is a long shot but I’ll ask anyway. When you use disposable bedding, don’t you put it on top of the bedding that’s there or do you remove all the linens and replace with what you brought?
You are completely OCD. I’m not giving you a hard time about it though because you have actually inspired me to do clean my home better and more often. It’s a win for you and for me.

KFC and Burger King will set them off, so eat clean firstly, and chemical branded cleaners and perfumes, make up as well

Girl, ALL OF THIS. Some people do not disinfect anything and just hop in the bed like they are at home. Um, NO. I bring my own pillow, sheets, blanket, and also disinfect exactly like you did. Also ALWAYS wear shoes and/or slippers while walking in the room. My husband has worked in 5 star hotels and you would not believe the way they DO NOT disinfect. Do they wipe down surfaces? Yes. Does it look clean to the naked eye? Yes. Is it clean? Absolutely NOT!
