Fantastic , each time at the begining of the video, I wonder : how will he did this part... and then i said " haaa... so obvious ... " haha. You are the kind of guy that give wanted to try. Thanks to share your passion, we learn a lot thanks to you ! Just small question , what kind of fiber do you use just after the first layer of gel coat please, it looks like really soft fibrr but not like rowing, more like coton ?
Glad you enjoyed it! Its Glass Surface Tissue Its verry easy to get a perfect first backing to the gelcoat, air free. When ou just wet it out good so not to much it gives a peelply like surface which bonds the tooling verry well and again eliminates smaal air bubbles between this coat and the tooling resin. This is really important for using molds in autoclave, the smales air bubbles in the mold wil just be shown when you use it in the autoclave because of the high pressure.
@@Republicofcomposites thx a lot for your complete reply, have fun with all this nice part ! I see that you buy now some product to the english store easy composite, now it is distrubuted in europe too, good news. Are you happy with their product ? I also have difficultie to find a good flexible resine. I also see some brand that use what they call "avio fibre" . I have searched but nothing pop up on internet. Do you know this kind of fiber ? It is for my rsv4 motorbike race fairing. And happy new year !
@@Olfox2 I use some products from them, the easy lease release agent for making molds only, it has really good release on all materials. and the mould cleaner. all my resins come from industrial delivery. We had a special resin that was flexible, its used also for Ski boots. Avio fibre want to say it epoxy made parts in motorcycle fairings you see it alot but most of the time its just fiberglass they add avio fibre to the discription to make higher price.
