Regarding 1:34 United States Mint Original Government Packaging (OGP) nowadays are cheaply made vinyl covered clam shell cases with a vacuum formed holder that is flocked lined to simulate faux velveteen. The problem is that flock fibers come loose and adhere to the coin capsule and appear to be dust specks. The cheap packaging was introduced to cut costs when David J. Ryder became Director of the U.S., Mint in 2018. On the other hand, when Edmund C. Moy was Director of the U.S. Mint from 2006 to 2011, he used high quality packaging for their best numismatic products. For examples, fancy hardwood cases were included with the 2009-W Ultra High Relief Double Eagle Gold Coins, the 2008-W Gold Proof Buffalo Coins and the 2008 Double Prosperity Two Gold Coin sets.
The mint......." Hey Jim this is the first coin we're going to strike with this die, uh oh tom it came out messed up. Well Jim we'll just tell them this was the first one. They won't know the difference. Ok sounds good tom, I can't see it from my house" 😂😂😂😂😂
I have a serious feeling that all 1,794 Silver Privy's and all of the 230 Silver Privy & Signed C.O.A. were not minted and those original numbers simply do not exist. We need to find out if all of the Silver Chase Medals were actually minted and released. 🤔
My prediction is the Mint doesn't have much going on for the rest of December...so expect a lot more flowing hair episodes. Jumping jigawatts. ⚡ Probably a bazillion of em. ✌🏻🤓🥤
Son of a silver stacker, a video on how to bid on Gold Flowing Hair Privy would be great. A strategy session on how to win. With 230 coins running one after another there has to be a strategy on how to win other than just over bidding too much money. Seems the lower numbers are already have higher bids. Unique numbers have higher bids. However, the Mid level medal numbers seem to have lower bids. Don’t wanna win too early then only To have the non special number coins sell for less. Or even worse , the first 1/2 of the auction sells to crazy people with pockets full of $. Then people start to bid crazy money on the last half as if almost in a panic because 1/2 the coins are sold. Now instead of 230 coins there are only 115 left to buy. Your thoughts on how to win one of the cheaper coins for the average person!!!!!!! I have total FOMO. B-RAD
@@SonOfASilverStacker I'm good my friend. Just cold lol. Gonna be getting some more snow here tomorrow. Can't wait for summer lol! How are things going with you? How's the house coming along?
It's 39 here right now...and I'm headed to a CT scan of my heart this morning...my appointment is at 7:30; please send some prayers my way! As for the house, the public adjustor and the insurance company are going back and forth...it sucks.
@@SonOfASilverStacker I will definitely be thinking of you and praying for you buddy, I hope all goes well for you! Will ABPP get another 20% of a second product containing the remaining Flowing Hair product? Since the director has stated the Flowing Hair product is the start of OUR 2026 celebration this behavior dampens my pursuit of U.S. numismatic happiness.
So, should I send my gold coin in for grading? I haven't even opened the shipping box. And where should I get it graded if so? I live close to Sacks and Bauers
@SonOfASilverStacker huh? Well, if you want to know why I purchased it, it is for its rarity and collectible value. And I'm wondering if it's worth it to gamble on getting it graded as a MS70 to further increase its value.
@@DrDanMD If it were me, I would submit it to be graded at some point in the future, after I know more about the missing coins, potential sets? So, yes I would have it graded if it were me, however I would wait...you live in south county?
Could someone please explain how the gold flowing hair with a privy mark is for sale on Ebay? The auction isn't until December 12th. I am sure I'm missing something. I'm trying to get into the coin collecting field but there just are so many things that I am totally clueless about. Also, how can there be different mint states from coins that were newly minted?
It's a pre-sale. Sellers do it all the time. It's a great way to fund their future purchases with YOUR money! No coin is perfect, brand new or not. Some coins get lucky and come out looking fabulous! Others, not so lucky.

I agree. The packaging used to be nice mahogany boxes and now it's plastic garbage. For thousands of dollars you'd expect to get nice packaging

Save your $ and buy a real piece of history like a M.S. $20 St Gauden's,,,,,,
PCGS grading the gold flowing hair a MS69 and MS68 is pitiful. NGC is probably worst.

Maybe more?!
Makes no sense for the mint to release more as a pair...until after the auction.
Flowing Hair Coin and Medal offering really has piqued interest . And the Mint has added to the melee .
Oh great 🎉

Good morning ☀️ sss
Morning! ☀️
My prediction is that the US Mint will auction off sets with both gold and silver privy and without, future special release sets.
Why would anybody want empty OGP packaging? Unless it's to put a counterfeit in it or some kind of insurance scam.
@@richarddavis6133 someone could buy a slab and want OGP/COA to have with it ….
What?! Never thought of that before!!!
I've received US Mint packaging that was destroyed and they wouldn't replace it so I had to purchase OGP Packaging online.
@@bryanmartin6691 Makes sense, hadn't thought of that.
@@SonOfASilverStacker I've seen eBay ads for 10 or 20 of these at a time -just wondered why?

They might have more coins, but cannot get more packaging at this time
