  • Continuing my 'videos with no production values for things I couldn't find a satisfactory video for' series (if you can call 2 videos a series), here is how I wired my new Healtech GIPro G2 +ATRE to the suggested rear brake switch wire on my GSXR 600 K3. I also includes how I did a temporary bodge to get me through a trackday weekend. I think the same method might also apply to other similar gen Gixxers or other bikes that use a similar system for the rear brake (ie switched 12v plus ground) but obviously wire colours and electrics may change etc and it's your risk, and if you're not sure get a grown up to help you ;) Apologies to anyone expecting another flying video!

Perfect cheers mate! and completely coincidentally I was re routing this exact brake cable tonight as I dropped the height of my footrests! I didn't realise you could use this for the Healtech!!

nice vid, you got a link for me from the gear indicator?

Support your local bike shop! Go ask them to order you a Healtech Gear Indicator Pro for your bike, but you can google it to find the exact model that fits your bike. If you buy a random one from ebay then you take your chances but the Healtech one is very good, and so was their support

Apart from the 12v red wire is it plug and play? Or do you need to fit the magnets like the cheap gear inductors I’ve seen?

Hi Mark, thanks for your question! :) Aside from the red wire it was really straight forward. There are sticky pads to help you choose where to place it, i chose on the left of the cluster whereas I know some stick it on the front of the rev counter. The cable routes easily on the left with the throttle and clutch cables and you just put the sensor in line with two plastic plugs that are accessible and come easily apart under the tank. I'm not used to bike electrics and couldn't find an easy guide on what to do on this bike but once I worked out it was really easy :). Just to caveat that mine was the model specific to the gsxr k3, I don't know if other models work differently

@@guybowdler2460 oh cool, I was just unsure how it worked as they never came fitted with a gear counter. How well dose it work?

@@GBMark90 obviously I can only comment on my own experience but I'm very happy with it. I bought it to help get consistency on track days and I'm very happy with it indeed, works quickly and doesn't appear to jump or misread. For me it was worth spending the extra to get a supported one, but i know other people have been happy with their unbranded purchases

My local bike shop ordered it for me. You can buy direct from Healtech I think, but support your local bike shop! :)
