I've never been big on outtakes and such, usually only listening to them once and not again for years, but......I Iistened to Take 18 of Give Me Peace here on UA-cam, and I was blown away. It's just George singing and playing his acoustic guitar, and it sounds beautiful. His voice is fragile but sounds soooo good. I want the boxed set based on my first listen to that Track alone. Mind blowingly good.
You're a cool cat, Mazzy. This 25 year old wants to grow up to be you when he's older! ;) Your passion, articulate way of speaking, and beautiful collection of music and literature are a pleasure to see. Excited for this release. I'm a vinyl guy, so I'm here for the wax! I like black vinyl. Just like I always wore black soccer cleats, I also prefer the classic look of black vinyl.
You are a poster child for this release and hearing you are interested is all anyone needs to know to understand they put together a package that will be successful. It’s great when a label does exactly what they should with a box set.
That T-shirt is great, I want one or two. Dark Horse re-release can't be that far behind. LITMW Great record, in the tradition of Beatles not repeating themselves, the first George album I bought, had already requisitioned my older brothers ATMP. Love all the seventies solo work, George didn't stop being George when the Beatles split and always loved his songs, same for Paul and John and sometimes Ringo( still think Blind Man is pretty good song) Thanks for the heads up.
Thank you, Mazzy. - This was my first of George‘s albums which I bought at the actual time of its release. Before that I had assembled ATMP and the Concert For Bangla Desh. Oh, what great years for George (and for me)! Material World is dear to my heart, but getting older I ask myself how often I should buy it. I have the two reissues (2006 and Apple years), but in the end most often I listen to my original LP. Are all those reissues really worth buying? It‘s a real question because I don‘t know. The Beatles in Mono Box Set is a jewel, but all the other stuff? I‘m getting short of room for them. Other people stay in good mood and buy it under all circumstances. It´s a feast for the music and our youth, I see that. Enjoy, very honestly said. Greetings from Berlin, Harry
I have a vintage poster of your shirt. At least during the later Beatles' years, George would pick a arbitrary high number for a first take. It may have been a jab at the number of takes Paul was putting the the band through. As for the upcoming release, I'm happy to have the vinyl and cds packaged together. I don't have any 50 year old shirts. They would be child size for a thirteen year old.
I have the 2006 reissue anniversary release on vinyl. It contains two bonus tracks on side II, along w/ a very nice full size booklet. I had the CD/DVD version but it was taken by someone over the years. I wonder if the full size poster is included in the Super Deluxe as it is only shown with the 2lp version. hmmm....
Just picked up a used copy of Living last week for $5 so I can wait a bit lol . Will probably go with the 2 CD version as that seems to be the cheapest option
I don't think this is as bad a cash grab as the Mind Games box (ridiculous), I'm buying the single album of that. OR the box of the early Beatles on the horizon (that box is about 130.00 overpriced--I'll be buying the single albums of that). I am a HUGE Beatle fan. And its very possible to be a huge Beatles fan and not buy everything. Some just do not have the extra income to do so, even though we might want to.
Thanks Mazzy. I'm getting the Deluxe! (Question about your framed Lennon by Avedon: Is that poster stock or a real photo and what is the size? Would love to track one down.)
This is an extreme paradox for me? The real thing is.. and it’s gonna sound dum but i have a digital music collection on my mac computer and phone and i want to be finished with it. everything is catalogued and tagged appropriately, yes i’m being “anal” and when i find out i have to update to a newer version 😖😫 ITS BACK TO WORK AGAIN! My portable disc drive went out on me so now i gotta download not even ever being sure that the sound quality and volume will match the rest of my music library..😫😫😫UUUGH!!! I know it’s “personal” problem but dammit i cant keep updating my digital collection all the time! Will this remixing, rerererereremastering of these albums ever end?? I want to finally be done with my collection and enjoy it because for reasons i can’t go into, it’s gonna be all i have left. There’s a chance i might lose my vinyl collection…(that’s another complicated story) Sorry for the complaint, i felt the need to voice my frustration. If i didn’t like the box coming out, i wouldnt be so frustrated… i know it sounds confusing but it’s really a paradox.
Where does all this 'anniversary' re-issue stuff stop Mazzy? I know you're a Beatles 'completist' (not that you'll ever complete....sorry, just saying) I ask because The Stones have just released a 'One year anniversary' of 'Hackney Diamonds' which is a double splatter disc edition including said album and the live at Racket NYC disc. One year? WTF? I have pants older than that. It's got to stop somewhere.

Fantastic!! A fave of mine and this deluxe set is perfect for me. Can't wait. Thanks Mazzy
Such a Prophetic Album name by George. Love it!

Enjoyed the video!
This is great news. Mazzy in The Morning should be on a Local News Station on regular basis. Hare Krishna Bro! It’s only a Northern Song.

Excited about this one. Very intimate George album. Repeated plays reward the listener.
Talk about New Releases.... I just ordered Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young: Live at the Filmore East, 1969... Should be here next month...
It Xmas Time in the City, Mazzy. Ergo, the releases.

The Jim Keltner Fanclub announcement on the cover was a parody of the Wings Funclub announcement on the cover of Red Rose Speedway.
For some reason I missed out on the OG. Will buy the single.

Nice to see this album getting the box set treatment! A solid Harrison record PS!! The shirt does look a little tight on you though!!!!

In Germany 140€ for the deluxe boxset
It’s become overkill. I’ll probably pick up the double vinyl version. Thanks for explaining all the ways to purchase this

Have to wonder if Dhani and Sean share thoughts about the magnificent responsibility of curating works of their parents…
Are we American fans getting BEATLE Product FATIGUED???
Not yet.
Ironically, just picked up a vinyl copy of the album. Disappointed in the sound so hoping the new one will be an improvement.

Even the inner photo on my copy is somewhat blurred. You can hardly make out the nude in the upper window !!
I hope they don’t press this at GZ Memphis. My last Dark Horse Joe strummer Mescaleros didn’t sound all that great.

@@mazzysmusic I’m not arguing that fact. I’m just saying that it’s at least partially what these reissues are about.
