- I give my updated review of Way Of The Hunter and why you shouldn't buy it right now. I'm hopeful the game will improve but until than, I would wait to see what happens.

I love how you can spook a deer from 300 yards away
Yea super sucks. Aint no way that's real. I've hunted in real life and if your stealthy enough you can get within 150 yards out for a good shot or even closer. Super frustrating, your sneaking so slowly for 20mins only to spook at 275 yards. I wasn't even walking. Smh. I'll just shelf this until it gets fixed.

Never had any of these problems. The only thing broken is multi-player. But everything is smooth as glass. I did have it crash once when I hit a bird with my jeep. but that was it, and only once. I definitely recommend this game. The frame drops mostly are caused by Razor cortex boost. I play on a laptop on the highest graphics and it crushes it! As I said, it's crashed once, several days ago. I own all the rifles and calls that I want and love the game.
That's great you didn't have any issues. The vast majority did have issues and some of these issues are still happening even after the latest update.
I just lost a 5 star elk because it disappeared. I've had this happen before with a mule deer and 2 or 3 other elk previously but it was really bad when the 5 star elk disappeared
That really sucks I'm sorry to hear that. Hopefully they fix the game soon.

@@Kodiak-Outdoors Nope, it's been fixed. The PC patch was up a couple of days before the consoles. In case you do not have auto-updates enabled, make sure you download the latest version of the game. Almost every point on this video has been fixed. Of course, one could argue that a game of this caliber should not have this kind of issues upon release, but that's another discussion. What is most important for me is that the devs are constantly evaluating feedback from the community and seem to take action fast and really care about the game. They did release two major patches after just two weeks after all.
This game has done so many things right at its core mechanics and gameplay to deliver such a good hunting simulator, so a few bugs that persisted for a few days was not a big problem for me. This is a game that I will stick to for years!!
@@opterios it hasn't been fixed and the devs have stated themselves on discord that some issues are still happening. Crashing is still happening but especially while duck hunting(devs own words). FPS isn't fixed when it rains in game the FPS drops so low the game becomes unplayable. People is discord are still having animals disappear. Elite pack items are still missing that people paid for. To say "it's been fixed" isn't accurate. The issues I mentioned in the video are still there but yes they have been improved but not fixed. The devs communication has been great I think they just need more time to fix things. As I said in the video I would say you should buy it just not right now because because your experience can widely vary. so why not wait a little to have it improved first so you can fully enjoy it.
@@Kodiak-Outdoors Fair enough. I also follow their discord server and my impression was that only the occasional crashes from duck hunting are still an issue after the patch. I thought everything else was now OK, at least among the major bugs. FPS drop in dense forests has been fixed for me, but if you say people are still struggling with FPS under rain, I take your word for it! :)
I'm playing on PS5 and to be honest I've had nothing game breaking as yet, a few blood trails disappeared and getting stuck on trees, falling through the map when fast travelling but the rectifies itself after a second or so.
Overall it seems the base game is somewhat stable, I think the majority of issues seem to be PC related
From what I can tell you are right PC seems to be a mess. What's worse now is that there are new problems sometimes depending on if you buy it from Steam,GOG or Epic.
@@Kodiak-Outdoors it can't be easy but as far as I can tell ( not being into pc gaming myself ) most build their own pc's to their own specs, could be someone having problems with one thing and others not, I'm not sure, as I say not being pc compatible savy myself.
@@paulp3290 I think it mix of that but even with the common errors happening you have a range of computer savviness so for some they can follow instructions in discord to fix problems and others struggle. The errors also seem to come and go for me. Some days it crashes all the time and other days I can play for hours with no crashes. I'm sure it will all get fixed in the end.
Try the PS5. I don’t have any of those problems, except for the animal age. The only problem with age is in the Hunter’s Log. All animals are labeled Young except Hollywood. Glassing animals shows the proper age though.
Good to know it's working well for you, that's awesome. I know Xbox and PS5 have had some issues but I don't know the full extent. On Discord it looks like people are having similar and sometimes different issues with console so hopefully it all gets patched up soon.
That's a pretty strong statement to make, not recommending a game purchase based on personal opinion and cause you had some issues.
As you provide no other info on your system, hardware or software setup etc. etc.. etc...
I played several 5+ hours of gameplay and som passing 10 hours and I have a total of 86 hours of gameplay so far, from my end it works just fine.
I have all guns all perks unlocked and all things you can buy is bought. BUT the one thing I have not done yet is playing multiplayer if that might be the issue for those who have problem..
The latest update sure sorted out stuff that was wonky for me in the game and key-binding works great on my end.. so far.. 86 hours of joyful gameplay.
So for me my experience is awesome :D ( I'm have the Elite edition and I am on PC )
The discord right now is full of very angry people, these issues have been widely talked about by the dev team and other content creators. I'm glad you have had great luck with the game but this is not the norm for most players on console or PC. These is not a personal opinion just based off issue I have had. These are well known issues so much so that the dev team has now added an entire beta testing branch of the game and are asking for people in the community to help as they don't know how to fix the game right now without more data. I'm really glad you are enjoying the game and I have been as well as I only have minor issues right now. I just can't glorify a game on my channel without talking about the issues many are having. Once it's fixed up as I said in the video I will be more than happy to recommend this game to anyone.
@@Kodiak-Outdoors Well respect to you after all it is your channel and I'm not trying to tell you how to run it. But personally I would just issue a caution warning on purchase rather than a blunt don't buy as that is a do or don't ( things are not always black & white). There is a grey area in this, as they are working on a fix and know about problem some are having. There are also a good majority that only have small issues that don't break the gameplay or some that don't have any problem. Only issue I had so far was two animal doing a Star Trek beam me away disappearance but was fixed going to main menu and back and they returned so I could claim them. Well I do hope they sort this out either way keep up the good work. CHEERS!
I think he's right, it's somewhat broken for a lot of players. Glad to hear the game is working for you.
@@Mich_Angel Could you contact the development team and provide them with your copy of the game? They could use it as a future patch, and solve all the problems. You have the golden ticket, please share it with the developers.
@@kubabooba548 Ha ha well that's not how it works what we have as consumer is a compiled version, what the developers have is raw uncompiled version and a compiled can' t uncompiled that easy to make any use of it. Reason mine is working pretty flawless might have to do a lot with hardware config and system setup.. But I have set the game to send/upload all info to developers about gameplay. So if there is anything that can help they already know but it might not be of any help to other with different system setup.. and that might be where the key is.. hard to tell from outside.
Yeah it's sad, I got my 308 gone when I paid for it and my duck caller that I got way back seems to be missing, Multiple crashes and missing animals at the end of blood trail. I mean this was sold as a somewhat completed game right? Not early access
Yes you are correct this is suppose to be a finished product. I'm sorry to hear you are also having issues with the game.
I’ve only lost access to the reservoir falls area and have the age bug with some animals and had one killed animal disappear, which reappeared after going to main menu and going back into the game. So I think I’ve been lucky up until now. I think I’ll back up my saves before playing from now on though, read that some peoples games have been lost after a fatal error
That great you have mostly minor errors and hopefully it stays that way for you. I certainly would back up the game save files especially after long play sessions.
on PC I have no issues to speak of..frame rate is good but I have seen flickering textures. only had one crash. played for 250 hours now so a 30 hour review....no thank's!!!!
Lucky you, now have over 50hours and still have crashing and animals disappearing.
Sadly yes...its having problems presently.
But the dev team have acted quickly and provided great advice and options to the community.
I too lost nearly 80+ hrs of play...one fatal error and my save files got corrupted & I lost everything!! (All gear unlocked and 90% of first map and some of 2nd map)
The patch also killed the FPS so much...I was forced to move to new hardware!, annnd, then my COTW save files from the old gaming laptop also decided to read as corrupt and simply refuse to load 😶...😂
And yet!...HunterClassic - no issues here!!🤣(Old school, yet still one of the best!)
Personally, Im loving WOTH, as I do COTW and HunterClassic...the one thing they ALL share in common...is problems straight after launch!
I say ->BUY THE GAME!...its bloody awesome!! (And it will only get better & better!...just like the others we all love to play)
I quit COTW because that game is a trash fest
