Feeling so much better now that I'd found Nick in a magazine article in 1978 and got all of his vinyl, 2 new and one (Pink Moon) used. Later I got the Fruit Tree 4 CD Box Set. Better Later is, far and away, my favorite but he's the best. . !
Great video. I picked up 5 leaves left, Byter Later, Pink Moon on pink Island in the mid-1990s for a pound each at a UK car boot sell. I knew what they were as soon as I saw them. I also took Stones one and two first pressings. My best score ever! This when everyone had started to move over to CDs. People began selling off whole collections at car boot sells, The pickings were everywhere. Years later, I bought the re-releases of each of these albums. I wanted them in mint, as the first presses were not. I have to say that I stopped playing the first presses then after. The recording transfers to the new pressing was great. Heavyweight vinyl pressing as well. I sold the first pressing as the sound from the reissues was just as good. But these were more sort after before they had been not been re-released on vinyl. I had seen some copies in mint/mint on first press sell for $900. They're not worth as much these days. I own the same guitar, a Guild M-20. He never used it, it was a prop. But I never knew that when I bought it. Still, it became my main guitar. The Guild M-20 is often referred to as the Nick Drake Guitar!
I have the Pink Island pressing (Dutch) from 1971. Found it at a local store €60,- last year... The vinyl itself is near mint and i was so surprised to find it. It sounds amazing and yes the cover is very thin.
I was at Oxford in 69 with nick and recorded 3 of his 5 gigs. I've still got the reels and I'm talking to Virginia records about releasing a double live album called "golden"
This is my favourite Drake album, it never ages. Listen out for John Cale's work on keyboards and viola, just magical. OMG you paid nearly $700 for an original?!?! That is pretty shocking, even though it a phenomenal album. I really hope you take great care of your collection!
I just ran and checked my Bryter Layter CD cover. I can see his face! I think I paid $9.00. It's a CD but I'm happy. Do you have any Ian Matthews in your collection?
I love Nick Drake but i don't like that people present him as a "rarity", specially when that is the "hook"... is like to give it to hipster and pretentious people who just want to show up about "rare music"...
I had this record when I was a teenager. Kicking myself that I got rid of it.
Huge Nick Drake fan. Love his music. P.s. there are recordings of him talking.
Well, It’s Nick Drake, you can’t really overpay.

I am listening to it a million times actually. I'm in love with this artist and this album was the first one that I pick up to listen first.

Great vid, can't wait for more!
The title cut, Bryter Layter was Diane's theme music when she was on Mornings at WHFS 102.3 FM and later 99.1 FM in Annapolis.
One of my favorite records ever.
I like the videos man! Keep up the good work!
Worth every penny
This is my favorite video on UA-cam thank you for making subbed
Neat trivia: the Guild guitar he’s holding on the cover is a prop. The photographer owned it. Nick never played a Guild.
1) Love Nick Drake 2) Enjoyed your video (3) Have you listened to any re-issues of this record? If so, any that sound as good or possibly better?

Great video! Question: What is your opinion of cut-outs on records? Is it best to avoid them or does it matter? Thanks!
Really cool
