Yes, but that was an accident! Somehow I was wheeling out some 5X and I thought something felt weird when I was tying it on. So I think the very first part of my tip it was 5X going to the first fly.
@@ReelHustle100 We both know those Spinney fish will effortlessly break off 5x & 4x tippet especially when they get wrapped around some weeds. It’s good you figured it out quickly before it was too late.
I have the St. Croix mojo Trout Rod seven wait. I also have a few Orvis recon‘s. My Saint Croix is much cheaper but I actually like it a lot think it was like $210.
@@ReelHustle100 Thanks a ton! I have been fly fishing for around a year now and i love to fish at spinney and was looking to get a stillwater setup but i didn’t know what rod to get. Love those lamson reels too!
@@Grayson-vv9hn yes I love my set up. It’s not the highest quality or most expensive out there. But… it’s never let me down with over 1000 fish this last year
@@ReelHustle100 Do you have any tips for spinney as well? You are a huge inspiration to me catching all those giants! Ive had so many heartbreaks at that lake seeming like every time i go i just get broken off by every giant i hook into. Any tips would help!
Awesome video loved the double up beast of a brown as well and a nice cutbow to finish it off. PS I think we all have days where we loose a bunch but you guys stuck it out and scored on some nice trout.
Planning A trip to spinney on our pontoon on Sunday any special area you where at and what setup on the fly rod . I have never got a fish on fly rod at spinney usually we troll with spinning stuff, would love to try the fly. Thanks
@@mikederheim5152 I would try 7’ water near shore lines. With hoppers. Size 6 chubby trenoble “Royal” color way. Especially in afternoons. And in choppy conditions near sandbar edges where there’s drop offs
Another great video and some very nice fish.
Thank you, Bob ! I hope you’ve been having a good Summer full of fish!

Thanks Conor it was a tough go. But we had a strong finish
Great video! Lost some but you still scored some beautiful brownies & bows! Did I hear you had some of your nymphs tied on 5X ?

Thanks brother. Some days definitely are a test. Gotta walk tall and keep truckin
Where those your lost flies you got out of the fishes stomach? Or to see what the fish was eating?
That’s how you check with the fish were eating
