I am a 62 year old Yoga Instructor who does not hesitate looking outside of my field for solutions to fill the gaps in my field. Over time, I have found it necessary to include various isotonic exercises and leg strengthening methods. If there is one advice I have for all young people out there is to take it slow getting to the level you seek and stop pushing yourself after that, doing only what you need to remain there. In other words, do not push yourself to perform super-human feats. This will wear out your joints sooner, and you may feel old after turning forty. You want to be pain free and in the best of health through your 70's. Take it slow and easy!

Lol I should have knew better than that. I have always been a fat kid. And fat kids come sometime from having a fat family. Weather your mom or grandmother like to cook. And you like to eat. Since 2008 my family has been shook by death due to over weight. Ive lost, a sister, my father, and my mother. Its sad that I had to see my mother lose both legs due to diabetes and month before she passed away lose her hand. My father passed in 2009 from heart attack. He was a big man. My sister dead in 2008 the day after having liposuction. I know this way off from subject gyno. But this was my motivation. Im not telling my story to get attention or to get a pat on the back. I dont want any im sorry. Use my story to change your life. As I stated I was 350 april 2014. It now January 2015 I weight 235 pounds. But anyway I was just one of fat all over guys. Just about all my chest fat is gone. So can change your lifestyle eating. Just choose to live.

I'm 60 and have a very similar story. I've been ratcheting up my at home workout for 18 months now. I do an 8 week cycle, then adjust it at my leisure. Feel great.
Just wanted to mention that I'm very pleased with your initial discussion on gynecomastia. As a medical student who had this condition, surgery is, indeed, the only way to go. I would recommend assessing the condition with a primary care physician and determining whether the cause of breast enlargement is gynecomastia or simply excess fat. Good job for being thorough before telling everyone that they can just "run off' the fat.
A lot of people think that working on an area will lose you fat. It doesn't work like that. Gaining muscle is area specific. But putting muscle on in an area won't necessarily remove fat in that area. Having muscle improves your metabolism this is true, and thus having bigger or more toned muscles will make you burn fat. But your body will choose where it takes the fat from. This is a little of genetics, a little epigenetics and a little chance. Building/toning your muscles all round will remove fat from all areas. The order in which it does it is up to your body.
+James Vince Really, I would have thought it's also your diet. It's not impossible to lose the fat in your chest. If you workout regularly, eat a balanced diet and exclude the sugary + unhealthy foods, the fat will eventually subside.
Glitch You're right. Loosing enough fat will eventually get to your belly or chest or whatever area you wish to loose fat on. You don't really get a choice on the order.
+James Vince It's called spot reduction and ya it's bullshit. Your body decides which portion of fat you lose first so you just have to lose fat in general until it's gone.

The body doesn't "choose" to do anything. And fat burning has nothing to do with blood flow. Metabolic rate is system level procedure. It's is not localized.
The key to lose man boobs (which I once had) is to1: stop eating bread and rice. eat veggies and meat only 2: use the elliptical 3-4 times weekly for an hour or more. in 2 weeks of this regimen u will see a difference and u will lose a couple of pounds or more depending on the vigorousness of your work out. The key is full body workouts and this machine will do the job. I am leaving for the navy in February of 2015 and I am currently 168 lbs (im 5'9). in feb of this year I was 230. I searched the net for answers just like some of you and would only find ppl trying to sell their products and feeding me bullshit. This is the answer, follow it and you will lose weight including chest fat.
The key is to cut fat. The key to doing that isn't some retarded shit like "don't eat x", its count calories and eat nutrient dense foods and lean proteins. You can lose weight eating whatever you want. Calories in vs calories out is all that matters.

PEOPLE WITH GYNO LOOKING CHESTS: I have a friend with an athletic frame and I remember seeing him about ten months ago and he had gyno looking pecs. He had always had gyno looking pecs in the past too. He has gone extremely hard on chest day every week since that ten months ago and now his chest looks aesthetic as hell, no gyno. Build up your chest, all parts, upper and middle especially, and then lean out and you wont look gynoish.
every carb has 4 calories every protein has 4 calories every fat has 9 calories figure out your base metabolic rate and look for a macro calculator. be at a deficit, follow your macros, and exercise and you should be seeing results.

i have gyno, and was told i would never get rid of it without an operation, which i was turned down for by NHS, meaning I'd have to spend £6000 (around $10,000). I don't believe in the operation, as I strongly believe that it's the journey and not the result that counts. I've eliminated all plastics and processed food from my diet. I don't want surgery and never will do, and will never be able to afford it if I did want it. Someone help me, I'm willing to do whatever it takes to get rid of them without surgery. I'm determined that I can do this.
try taking pills to treat it like Gynexin (has a very high success rate). there are also topical solution but i think a pill would be most effective. work out your chest twice a week (bench press, incline press, flies, incline flies 3 sets 10 reps). since gyno is just lipids its obvious you should cut out a lot of the fat in your diet. the only kind of fat you should be eating is the healthy mono and polyunsaturated fats in stuff like almonds or fish. if youre over weight you need to be in a caloric DEFICIT, you wont lose weight without it no matter what foods you eat. on top of this all if youre serious i would also do HIIT training (high intensity interval training) which is the most effective and quickest way to burn fat off youre entire body and effectively your chest. remember there is no way to concentrate fat burning in any body part so by lowering your body fat % it will reduce fat everywhere. stay away from processed foods like youre doing and good luck :)

I've been training and eating healthy for 5 months im losing weight slowly but surely because I'm trying to keep and make as much muscle as I can. I went from 210 to 180. I'm getting there 👍
Mine is finally starting to melt away as I replace them with hard muscle. In the last 6 months, I have brought my chest strength way up. As about a week ago I surpassed my 1 rep PR from high school. I am 34. Side note. Before I found Athlean X I used what I knew (thought I knew) and lost about 100 lbs of fat in the gym and was down to 245 lbs body weight in 2012. After a life change that led me to change states, I then put all the fat back on. Over the last year, I came down 40 lbs from December 2017 at 330 lbs to 290 lbs. Your body is extremely smart and resourceful.
It may very well be that your chest fat is just stubborn and may be amongst the last to go. Remember when cutting/losing weight. . . It's not the first ten lb's where all the cuts and drama shows up, it's the last ten!

You gotta think as your muscles grow your chest expands and tightens the skin around the muscle. The skin is looser with excess fat so it can look like gyno. But if you have gyno then your chest is just going to feel like female breasts because that’s essentially what it is.
Am pleased to diagnose myself after watching this with just having a fat chest. The issue for me is I've been training since April and lost fat all over but much less on my chest and love handles so my body is now looking allot less balanced than when I was just fat all over. I'm going to give your exercises a try and see if this changes things. I have lost 3 stones 2 pounds since April first starting with HIIT aerobic and then switching to circuits of compound weigh exercises. Thanks!

MH had it myself from my teenager did the weight loss did the gym thing superfit but the chest stood strong no form of change I'm 50 now surgery is the only way but big monies here in the UK
Jeff - I've been watching your videos now for some number of weeks and have started to incorporate the principles I have learned from them into my workout routine, which is a *decent* routine with many good elements based on an app from a popular "body building" web site / supplements provider. However, what I am coming to realize is that despite the very good elements they have, that I have now been following for roughly 2 years, now being 55, I need to soon ditch in favor of your complete routine for the best results. Your workout finder tells me I need to go with AX2. Frankly that scares me a bit but indeed I did answer the workout finder questions honestly and need to get the cojones to go forward with it! In short, I LOVE your videos and find them to be factual, straightforward, based on science and truth and for that I greatly thank you. You're a great asset to the world of health and fitness.

If you're someone under 18 years old don't worry about it, I had them back when I was like 13 but after I got into basketball they just disappeared and now that I'm 21 I have lean well developed muscular pecs. Puberty helps a lot in some cases.

If you train your chest and the muscles grow, the fat needs to make space for those muscles. You can't target fat areas, but you can target where u want muscles to grow.

For instance in bench, I will keep working on a certain weight until I can touch my chest with the bar for one or more reps, and then I move on to heavier weights. It's in essence pretty much the same for every move I do. Once I master my max, I then up the weight in increments.
Make sure you aren't drinking most of your calories. I just to drink juice like it was liquid cocaine and had a huge gut and overall body fat level. Now I'm on water, and I shed a good amount of weight from my gut and the rest of my body. With weight loss, what one consumes seems to be more crucial than the workouts.
Thought I had Gyno.. Now I think it may just be fat collected. I eat measured food, 28 meals per week as clean as I ever could, But every 28th meal I don't count the calories and enjoy it with my wife. Grd beef Nacho's and icecream. It is planned, not a moment of weakness. All other 27 meals are 250-450 cals 60-80% protein ea/, No sugars. I Train 2 times a day, 6.5 days a week and struggling to make progress beyond the progress I made the last 3 months. Yes I need a coach. I look in the mirror and see potential for much better! I have zero difficulty sticking to my healthy eating, LOVE lifting, and so what if I'm hungry, or tired.. I have a goal. I'm 50 !
Im no sports nutritionist ( to get that out there first). But I think you might need to consult one. It seems that your total daily calories are too low and you might be overtraining ( 13 gym sessions per week on only 1000-1800 calories per day?) . If you eat too few calories, I believe many body types release cortisol ( natural stress hormone) which causes our body to hold on to as much fat as possible, especially unhealthy, and hidden Vitreous fat. Maybe a liscenced expert can comment here and Ill delete my well informed/ intentioned potential bro science.

iv'e had man boobs for most of my life, when i started eating like shit. But then i started going to the gym 3 times a week for 1.5 hours and iv'e noticed that i don't have gynecomastia. In a month iv'e lost 33lbs, thanks to your videos.
Sarban mg trust me, you dont want that. Thin necks look great when wearing a suit and makes you look slim. It also helps contrasting the shape of your jaw making it look bigger.
I developed gyno when I was 13 years old. Im 28 now and I can tell you being a teenage boy with gyno was emotionally damaging. After being made fun of every single time I took my shirt off I eventually avoided all situations in which that would be necessary by after 16. I developed terrible posture because I would roll my shoulders forward in an attempt to hide it. No matter how lean or muscular I became it was always there and obvious unless I had the right type of shirt on to hide it. Even now at 28 year old its difficult to deal with. The surgery is too expensive. All I can say is if you are young and have the opportunity to get it removed, get it removed. Save yourself years of embarrassment and avoidance of social situations you would otherwise find fun.
I have it very mildly in my nipples, doctor said it was normal in some boys, I had fun poked at me but it was not so bad as I was surrounded by love. I am less self conscious now at 36, I went to get lean and see how I will look. Let me know if you want to chat

I would recommend assessing the condition with a primary care physician and determining whether the cause of breast enlargement is gynecomastia or simply excess fat. A lot of people think that working on an area will lose you fat. It doesn't work like that. Gaining muscle is area specific. But putting muscle on in an area won't necessarily remove fat in that area. Having muscle improves your metabolism this is true, and thus having bigger or more toned muscles will make you burn fat. But your body will choose where it takes the fat from. This is a little of genetics, a little epigenetics and a little chance. Building/toning your muscles all round will remove fat from all areas. The order in which it does it is up to your body.

i have gyno, and was told i would never get rid of it without an operation, which i was turned down for by NHS, meaning I'd have to spend £6000 (around $10,000). I don't believe in the operation, as I strongly believe that it's the journey and not the result that counts. I've eliminated all plastics and processed food from my diet.
I don't want surgery and never will do, and will never be able to afford it if I did want it.
Someone help me, I'm willing to do whatever it takes to get rid of them without surgery. I'm determined that I can do this.
try taking pills to treat it like Gynexin (has a very high success rate). there are also topical solution but i think a pill would be most effective. work out your chest twice a week (bench press, incline press, flies, incline flies 3 sets 10 reps). since gyno is just lipids its obvious you should cut out a lot of the fat in your diet. the only kind of fat you should be eating is the healthy mono and polyunsaturated fats in stuff like almonds or fish. if youre over weight you need to be in a caloric DEFICIT, you wont lose weight without it no matter what foods you eat. on top of this all if youre serious i would also do HIIT training (high intensity interval training) which is the most effective and quickest way to burn fat off youre entire body and effectively your chest. remember there is no way to concentrate fat burning in any body part so by lowering your body fat % it will reduce fat everywhere. stay away from processed foods like youre doing and good luck :)

Am pleased to diagnose myself after watching this with just having a fat chest. The issue for me is I've been training since April and lost fat all over but much less on my chest and love handles so my body is now looking allot less balanced than when I was just fat all over. I'm going to give your exercises a try and see if this changes things. I have lost 3 stones 2 pounds since April first starting with HIIT aerobic and then switching to circuits of compound weigh exercises. Thanks!

Jeff - I've been watching your videos now for some number of weeks and have started to incorporate the principles I have learned from them into my workout routine, which is a *decent* routine with many good elements based on an app from a popular "body building" web site / supplements provider. However, what I am coming to realize is that despite the very good elements they have, that I have now been following for roughly 2 years, now being 55, I need to soon ditch in favor of your complete routine for the best results. Your workout finder tells me I need to go with AX2. Frankly that scares me a bit but indeed I did answer the workout finder questions honestly and need to get the cojones to go forward with it! If you train your chest and the muscles grow, the fat needs to make space for those muscles. You can't target fat areas, but you can target where u want muscles to grow.

Been working out for 3 years, have some muscles to show for it but overall very underwhelming. Been fat for far too long and still am. I see all these stories of people getting ripped in a year and I'm thinking.... Hmmm somethings not right, I mean my diets not perfect but it's still very good. There has to be SOMETHING I'm doing wrong.
Do you progressively overload? Or do same workout same weight every time?
+Philip Mcalister I set small goals for myself. For instance in bench, I will keep working on a certain weight until I can touch my chest with the bar for one or more reps, and then I move on to heavier weights. It's in essence pretty much the same for every move I do. Once I master my max, I then up the weight in increments.
+Nuh uh, I don't rack a discaprine as long as your going up in weight or reps you should be good. Change up your work out every few months.
Make sure you aren't drinking most of your calories. I just to drink juice like it was liquid cocaine and had a huge gut and overall body fat level.
Now I'm on water, and I shed a good amount of weight from my gut and the rest of my body. With weight loss, what one consumes seems to be more crucial than the workouts.

I eat measured food, 28 meals per week as clean as I ever could, But every 28th meal I don't count the calories and enjoy it with my wife. Grd beef Nacho's and icecream. It is planned, not a moment of weakness.
All other 27 meals are 250-450 cals 60-80% protein ea/, No sugars.
I Train 2 times a day, 6.5 days a week and struggling to make progress beyond the progress I made the last 3 months. Yes I need a coach. I look in the mirror and see potential for much better!
I have zero difficulty sticking to my healthy eating, LOVE lifting, and so what if I'm hungry, or tired.. I have a goal.

Im no sports nutritionist ( to get that out there first). But I think you might need to consult one. It seems that your total daily calories are too low and you might be overtraining ( 13 gym sessions per week on only 1000-1800 calories per day?) .
If you eat too few calories, I believe many body types release cortisol ( natural stress hormone) which causes our body to hold on to as much fat as possible, especially unhealthy, and hidden Vitreous fat.
Maybe a liscenced expert can comment here and Ill delete my well informed/ intentioned potential bro science.
My man I'm no expert but I think you're over training. Give yourself some recovery time in the middle of the week. Just a friendly advice 😁.

Now train one time per day 6 days a week with cardio 3 x week for just 15 minutes at the end of upper body days

tony tran yes, but they are not bad, you can only see them if you really pay attention. Also my body scars easily, and even then they are not bad. Get a good surgeon though if you or anyone reading this is planning to do it, ya don't want to take a chance.

Sarban mg trust me, you dont want that. Thin necks look great when wearing a suit and makes you look slim. It also helps contrasting the shape of your jaw making it look bigger.
I developed gyno when I was 13 years old. Im 28 now and I can tell you being a teenage boy with gyno was emotionally damaging. After being made fun of every single time I took my shirt off I eventually avoided all situations in which that would be necessary by after 16. I developed terrible posture because I would roll my shoulders forward in an attempt to hide it. No matter how lean or muscular I became it was always there and obvious unless I had the right type of shirt on to hide it. Even now at 28 year old its difficult to deal with. The surgery is too expensive. All I can say is if you are young and have the opportunity to get it removed, get it removed. Save yourself years of embarrassment and avoidance of social situations you would otherwise find fun.
