Really enjoyed your video! I carry either the Swiss Army Compact or Climber- really like that it has scissors. I also carry a Neo Smartpen with a small 3 x 5 smart notebook to capture my ideas that I can then transcribe and bring into a word processor.

Fave EDC is my Garmin Venu, which I've had for a 3+ years. Really like the way it works, great app and the way it links to my Nokia XR20 and previous phone for fitness, messages etc
I recently got into custom flashlights as well and love my synergy 3 from frelux. I’ve not seen that promethius light before but really dig it.
Only item I didn’t like was the whoop. I tried whoop a little while ago and honestly I don’t think it’s worth what they charge. I also have some complaints about the company themselves and just don’t feel like they are customer focused. I’m planning on picking up an aura ring in 2024 and see how that goes
A great set of gear. Before the days of smartphones, I carried a small leather calendar book and a nice pen in my shirt pocket. Now I'm completely in the Apple ecosystem and use the calendar. I journal extensively using the notes feature and find it more productive than paper. I'm essentially paperless; however, I keep a Space pen bullet and a couple of pieces of note paper in my wallet to sign credit recipients (when I don't use my Apple Watch to pay) and to leave notes from time to time.
I totally get the ease of use of being almost fully digital. But having a notebook with thoughts inked in, is fundamentally game changing for me. 😊

I have several times found myself looking through your old videos for a product I vaguely remember you talking about. Today I was writing with a cheap fountain pen and I thought to myself "Marcus mentioned one he really liked in some video recently".
I went back and scrubbed a few videos and found the moment I was thinking of, but, it occurred to me it would be amazing if you had a blog or simple webpage with a simple algolia search function so I could search pen and see all of the ones that you recommend.
This way I can also make sure to use your referral link when I buy!

Curious Marcus, as to what you do with your old EDC gear. Things that you have moved on from even though they served you well. As somewhat of a minimalist, I find it tough to move to new things without having dispositioned of older gear. Love your thoughts on it. Thanks
It really depends on what kind of EDC it is. For things like wallets I typically keep them in a drawer out of sentimentality. Same with pocket knives. I usually have a favorite for an extended period of time (like 3 months) but I’ll always be rotating old and new knives in every few days. Expensive pens are for life. But phones get traded in. So I guess, I trade and sell tech and camera gear on eBay. I keep my favorite pens, wallets, knives but do gift some to friends and family.

Great question. Day to day I have a sunset in my pockets. But if I’m going out with the kids I have several slugs from 2l fanbyboacks to 9L Bellroy venture slings.
I'm just starting to build my first EDC that has any real thought behind it. Thankfully Orbitkey restocked their star wars collaboration on the UK/Europe store so I have the Mandalorian and Boba Fett versions on the way. Cant wait!

I do. The 940 is still my top favorite know I own and I’ve recently bought a couple that are considerably more expensive. It’s close to perfect a knife for me as I can get. I carry it a lot, but not all the time.
Curious which iPad cover is that that also holds the apple pencil. Apple’s standard covers for the iPad 9th and 10th (I have both) don’t include a way to attach the pencil. Thanks

i would suggest using pilot hi-techpoint V5 instead of the uniball eye micro. the V5 has been my go-to everyday pen since highschool. have used the uniball too but nothing competes with the V5.

It’s actually the number one for me in terms of productivity enhancers. If I’m fit and working on my health, I seem to have more energy for everything else.

I want to get a whoop but I work in the oilfield so often have no phone signal / wifi etc. Does the whoop have some sort of memory so it will update once I was back with my phone? Or does your phone need to be always near?

It has a memory but I don’t know how long. Like I’ve had it not sink for like 24-36 hours or something like that and all the data transferred when I got back to my phone.

whats the use of a notepad? i havent written something in over 20 years apart from signing at a bank...the rest i just uise a pc...thats what it's for. I have a notepad in my wallet... never used it.
I've enjoyed your content since I found your channel not too long ago. I have one bit of friendly constructive criticism on this one: As someone who has never used an Apple product, nor ever wanted an electronic health tracking device, the first 8 minutes of this video were not useful.
I understand everyone has different lives and carry needs, but personally I just turned off the video after 8 minutes of Apple adverts.
Maybe just take 30 seconds to say, "I use all Apple products for my electronic devices, here's a link to a video of my Apple product reviews, now on to the main content."

Apple sucks because it doesent allow 3rd party loader, and almost all my house automation is made by me and programed by me, and can be only used on android. Aparently they have to allow this so maybe i will try an apple device when i can actually acces my home. untill then apple kinda sucks.
