Praise God for that! Hearing here from Brasil. I really need to peruse and embrace these things in my life, grow in grace, walk on the way rather than being stuck. Pray for me. I love hearing pastor Piper, God bless this ministry!
We pray, " Take this sin away, Lord," and then nothing happens... Because we have to fight sin, the sin thats already been defeated by Jesus, we have the grace to kill this sin, we fight on our knees, we meditate on the word, we change our thoughts. We can choose. He has made it possible. Praise Him
Absolutely beautiful and wonderful I agree whole heartedly...oh that more pastors would preach about being holy holy ,holy and walk that narrow path way. 🙏🙏🙏

Such an insightful and blessed sermon, full of accurate and helpful observations. We praise God for Pastor Piper's faithfulness to Christ, Scripture and His bride, the church. I felt the sermon had one weakness however. Six or seven times he repeated the phrase "the sin bearing work of Christ and the sin killing work of the Christian." The grounds for the "sin killing work of the Christian" is of course the shed blood of Christ but without the empowerment of the Holy Spirit, this is not possible. This is why Romans 8:13 (and Pastor Piper has preached on this) says "If by the Spirit you put to death the works of the flesh you will live." Many churches believe in the person and work of the Holy Spirit as a theological construct without actually believing in His work in our sanctification. Yes, let's preach holiness, but also encourage our people to become more intimate with the Holy Spirit. He is the one who reproduces Christ-likeness. I'm more than open to correction here.
You are right! We can try and try to be holy but we'll never manage it even a bit until we are abiding in Christ hour by hour and leaning on the Spirit's power. Piper knows this and preaches it elsewhere, just not here
Intimacy and consistent relationship with God with deeply changed circumcised hearts in tangible reality rather than procrastinating seperation from a true spiritual hunger for God under the guise of good heady intellectualism, cold dead theological ducking and diving.

We have to firmly attach to Christ like a tapeworm, then our host can shower us with the gifts of the Spirit and then we can bear the fruits of the Spirit. In Christ Jesus we are to grow and bear much fruit. (Segments/fragments of a tapeworm, it feeds from its host and keeps growing and bearing more selfcontained compartments
Thank you for this message. This teaching has a lot in common with the message of the cross taught by Jimmy Swaggart which emphasises that our sanctification occurs by grace through faith in what Jesus accomplished at Calvary. I am going to re-listen to your message....it has given me additional insight into our sanctification. This was really an outstanding teaching. Please continue on in this direction.

Appreciate this message. When I was in sem we were taught in doing a sermon to look for a goal, malody that gets in the way of the goal, and means which is the Gospel answer to the malody. It would often make preaching that cut short any serious dealing with the text and then dismiss any specific commands by saying you can't do it but Jesus forgives you

(and I'm defo not there yet, bust step by step!) Start knowing your Savior: Jesus more and more, and experience it! What a live and what a freedom! the Bible is full of it: Hebreews, Korinthe, Titus and go on, and on! So Glad with to message, so in agreement! Father make me, us more like your Son! So that we will be a bride that is pleasing to both You and our Lord Jesus, Your Son, Yes; because of your Mercy, but this it not cheap! It's priceless, so expensive that only You could pay the price Jesus! To become Holy for You are Holy, obiedient to the Word of God, which is Your Son! ❤️🔥💛🕊 (#lovethismessege!)
Truth be spoken, I pray the ears of the pastors were fully attentive to the words spoken, I pray that my pastor would preach on Holiness…. so very encouraging ,sharpening, edifying self examination….. I pray that I would be holy as He is holy bring all glory and honor to Him in everything I see, say ,do and feel, today and always🙏
That was very good. It is good for me to be here. Christ suffered and died to make me holy. Saved by grace, and this grace is free power to overcome my sinful ways. By prayer we ask for grace to overcome my love for sin. By grace freely given, I may live to God and become holy. He who makes us holy and we who are being made holy are one. In the book of Exodus ch. 3:7-9, is pointing to what the true christian looks like. They cry out to God to be delivered from their bondage to their sinful desires, so that they may live to please God and be holy. So Christ has come down to rescue us from the misery of our slavery to sin. Do you do that? Do you hate your sins and long to be free from them? By grace you are saved!! By grace you may win the victory but not on your own strength, but by the holy spirit. Do you have the holy spirit of God dwelling in you? If not, ask God to give Him to you!! God bless you all!! Thanks for sharing. Thanks be to God for His precious Word!!

We are really missing this in our culture. "Justification by faith is a means, to something more and greater. Propitiation of the wrath of God is a means to something more and greater. Forgiveness of sins is a means to something more and greater. Escape from hell is a means to something more and greater. Ultimately the more and the greater is God Himself."

Without His perfect righteousness, no one will see God. Romans 4:6. Just as David describeth the blessedness of the man to whom the Lord imputeth righteousness apart from works. Romans 4:7-8. Blessed is the man whose sins are covered, blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin. First John 2:2. And He is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only, but for the sins of the whole world. Second Corinthians 9:13. Thanks be to God for His UNSPEAKABLE GIFT, ETERNAL LIFE. Romans 6:23 For the penalty for sin is physical death, but the GIFT OF GOD IS ETRNAL LIFE, THROUGH JESUS CHRIST OUR LORD. Thank God it is free, no one can earn it. First Corinthians 15:1-4. That Christ died for our sins, according to the scriptures, that He was buried and rose again on the third day, according to the scriptures. Romans 1:16. For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ , for it is the POWER of God unto salvation to everyone that BELIEVETH, to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. Galatians 1:6-9 Though we or an angel from heaven preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, LET HIM BE ACCURSED. As we said before, so say I again, if any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received from us, LET HIM BE ACCURSED.

If God's intention was that poeple would become holy at the point of salvation then all saved Christians would be 100 percent perfect at the moment of salvation. God doesn't do things part way. When the bible says things like behold "all" things have changed, it not talking about us in the flesh. It talking about our spirit saved side, or how God now sees us in christ. If it were a fleshly all things changed we would be sinless and have wings, be glowing, would never get sick, etc. We do not get our new, perfect, sinless bodies until glorification.
WE MUST BE BORN AGAIN You are born again when you are like Jesus. Then you are sinless 1 John 2: 3 And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. 4 He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. 5 But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him. 6 He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked. We must be born again! Then Jesus has baptized you with the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit do not let you sin anymore!!! To become born again you have to repent and ask Jesus forgiveness for your sins or ask Jesus in your heart! A really born again Christian has no future sins!! He is perfect, righteous and the light of the world. Please study : 1 John 3, Romans 6:6, Romans 8, Gal 5, Eph 4 , Eph 5 and Titus 2:14! I’ll give you my testimony: 16 May 2011 , I asked Jesus in my heart. I was ill at the time. Overstrained or burne out and very restless. I then felt a vibration going through my body from my head to my toes. Immediately afterwards I became very calm. The next morning I was again very restless. This lasted about a week. I then had a dream that I lived in a prison. And a voice then said to me that the devil had to get out of me. I then prayed for the devil to leave me. Immediately afterwards I felt that same vibration from head to toe again and at the end of it a voice said: you are now free! and now start reading the bible. Suddenly I felt a lot of peace and love. I was changed from a sinful, selfish person to a born again Christian with a lot of love for the other. And experienced a lot of rest. When Jesus has made you free, you are free from sin and free from death. Afterwards my illness was the best thing that happened to me.
Christ Died to Make Us Holy...well No..... we are not holy .....we have the righteousness of christ imputed to our account freely as a gift establishing our position before god as righteous. Our flesh remains after accepting the gospel. We stand in Christs righteousness not our own holiness! Today we do not have the law to gain righteousness! Our righteousness is by faith alone grace alone apart from our doing anything! God sees the perfect holy righteousness of Christ only thus rendering us saved!
He is not saying we will be sinless. He is saying exactly what the Bible is saying: “Be holy yourselves also in all your behavior.” This is NOT the same as imputed righteousness. This is a new birth, a change in behavior, a change of affection.
Behold the lamb of God who takes AWAY the sins of the world....Through the power and cooperation with the Holy Spirit you can live with a clear conscience. Not willfully sinning against God.
Have you ever lied, stolen, used God's name in vain, or looked with lust? Then like all humanity, you are guilty of breaking God's law. The Bible says that the wages of sin is death. Hell is a very real place! The good news is, Jesus came to earth and was crucified in your place so you wouldn’t have to go to hell! Jesus said that unless a man is born again, he cannot enter heaven. Repent of every sin the bible names and put your faith in Christ! God will give you a new heart with new desires and you will be born again into the kingdom of God! You will have eternal life and escape hell!

@@Gamefan86 The ancient references to Jesus are not just found in works by Christian authors, an argument that supports the historical authenticity of the character. “Jesus is also mentioned in ancient Jewish and Roman texts,” says McCane. For example, around the year 93, the Pharisee historian Flavius Josephus left in his work Jewish Antiquities at least one indisputable reference to the “brother of Jesus, who was called Christ.” Two decades later, the Romans Pliny and Tacitus also wrote about Jesus; the latter explained that the founder of the sect of Christians was executed during the mandate of Emperor Tiberius, when Pontius Pilate was governing in Judea. In short, the abundance of historical texts converts the real existence of Jesus into what McCane defines as a “broad and deep consensus among scholars,” regardless of their religious beliefs. “I do not know, nor have I heard of, any trained historian or archaeologist who has doubts about his existence,” he adds. With the weight of all this evidence, for Meyers “those who deny the existence of Jesus are like the deniers of climate change.” And all this despite the fact that physical remains are virtually non-existent. “There is no archaeological evidence directly for Jesus. Non-textual evidence begins around the year AD 200,” says Gathercole. Leaving aside the archaeology referring to episodes in the life of Jesus, the veracity of which is questioned, there are various physical artefacts associated with the crucifixion. The alleged fragments of the cross scattered around the churches of Europe are so numerous that, according to what the Protestant theologian John Calvin wrote in 1543, there are enough of them to fill a ship. A similar phenomenon has happened with the nails, which number up to thirty.
@@Gamefan86 The Shroud analysis As for the Shroud of Turin, the burial shroud that the body of Jesus was said to have been wrapped in, it has been revealed to be a medieval counterfeit. According to McCane, it does not correspond to a first-century fabric-that type of cloth was invented centuries later-nor to a man from the first century-his stature and physiognomy don’t match the average Galilee of that time-nor to a burial from the first century-the Jews of the time did not wrap their dead with a single piece of cloth. The Shroud has also been the subject of an examination from one of the latest techniques incorporated into the historical research of Jesus: DNA analysis. In 2015, a study found that the canvas contains genetic material from multiple people of different ethnic backgrounds, from Western Europe to the Near East, Arabia and India. Naturally, there are no skeletal remains for a DNA analysis that can be directly attributed to Jesus, which would be incompatible with the Christian belief in his resurrection. According to tradition, the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem houses the place of burial, discovered and preserved by the Emperor Constantine in the fourth century. Although it is impossible to determine if that was the true tomb of Jesus, a study published last June has dated the construction to the fourth century, corroborating the historical data. However, as reported by the geneticist from the University of Oxford (United Kingdom), George Busby, and the biblical expert Joe Basile in his documentary The Jesus Strand: A Search for DNA (2017), some researchers have investigated the possibility of trying to compare DNA from two different sources: on the one hand, the presumed ossuary of James, the “brother” of Jesus; on the other, the bone fragments found under the ruins of a church on a Bulgarian island in the Black Sea, which could correspond to John the Baptist. If John and Jesus were relatives, the comparative analysis of both remains could bring us closer to the very genes of Christ. Perhaps this goal is unattainable: for the moment, the DNA extracted from the remains attributed to John the Baptist actually showed modern contamination. But according to what Busby explained to OpenMind, a DNA analysis would, at the very least, allow researchers to “compare contemporary populations and then to compare those populations (not individuals) to populations around today.” While this would help to nail down the geographical origins, it may not do much to support the already established historicity of Jesus. According to Meyers, “Jesus in ancient Palestine was noble and changed the world for good.” And that, he adds, is “hard, if not impossible, to deny.”
Preacher, you are preaching your listeners to hell. You have been telling your congregation all along the church's doctrine of salvation to be: ▪︎ salvation is free, by God's grace and not by works - this is Paul's gospel. ▪︎ one is saved if one "openly declaring that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead". Rom 10:9 ▪︎ one is justified to be saved - "for it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith". Rom 10.10 And so, your flock believed salvation is by uttering words and believing in the heart! This is cheap solution you sold using the name of God and Jesus - for what? For money, prestige, or in service of the devil? This false salvation path is stench in the nostrils of the Holy God and of His Son, Jesus. There is a hefty price to pay. And now, with this sermon, you connect Paul's salvation immediately to the finished work of Jesus! You are inferring that Paul’s teachings must necessarily lead to Jesus's work - that Jesus’s suffering and shed blood has paid for their sins. Therefore they are justified and saved! This is the LIE you spew on behalf of the devil! This makes you his servant. Jesus’s forgiveness is reserved only to those his own - those whom the Father gave him and who followed and obeyed him faithfully as his disciples. Jesus’s holy sacrifice given as propitiation of sins is NOT given to those who followed Paul’s gospel that salvation is free by God's grace. Let me show the relevant verses to your viewers: Jn 17:19 "And I give myself as a holy sacrifice for them so they can be made holy by your truth." Jesus’s holy sacrifice: - pays for the sins of "them". - so that the Father can make them holy by His truth. But who is this "them"‽ They are Jesus’s disciples, who obeyed his commandments and endured the wrath of the evil world. Jesus’s prayer to the Father prior to this verse, are: John Chapter 17: Jn 17:6-8 “I have revealed you to the ones you gave me from this world. They were always yours. You gave them to me, and they have kept your word." Now they know that everything I have is a gift from you, for I have passed on to them the message you gave me. They accepted it and know that I came from you, and they believe you sent me. Jn 17:13-14 “Now I am coming to you. I told them many things while I was with them in this world so they would be filled with my joy. I have given them your word. And the world hates them because they do not belong to the world, just as I do not belong to the world." Jn 17:17-19 "Make them holy by your truth; teach them your word, which is truth. Just as you sent me into the world, I am sending them into the world. And I give myself as a holy sacrifice for them so they can be made holy by your truth." Jesus forgives the sins of his own only after they show themselves to be faithful disciples. He forgives their sins so that the Father can make them holy to be used for His glory. Mat 16:24 Then Jesus said to his disciples, “If any of you wants to be my follower, you must give up your own way, take up your cross, and follow me." No one who does not obey Jesus’s commandment to "give up your own way, take up your cross, and follow me" will be saved, nor granted eternal life. So, Pastor, realize you are teaching the devil's sermon, which leads your innocent flock into hell! There's a hefty price to pay for teachers like you.

The Gospel: Plain and Simple “But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.” - 2 Corithians 11:3 Ask someone today if they are saved and you will most likely hear responses like these: “I have accepted Jesus into my heart.” Or “I have made him Lord of my life.” “I’ve been baptized.” “I said a prayer.” Sounds all good and churchy don’t it; but it is difficult to de-termine whether or not a person actually knows the gospel that saves them. These useless phrases don’t describe a thing about what the gospel is and has left a devastating effect of people not knowing what it is that they are saved from nor how they are saved; which leaves a more serious effect of people questioning their salvation. Let’s not muddy the simplicity of salvation that is in Christ with vague church sounding phrases that do not communicate anything. But rather present God’s word with clarity and assuredness. So here is the gospel: plain and simple. Sin was passed upon all men by one man Adam, and death is a consequence of this sin (Rom 5:12). Mankind has an eternal destiny of condemnation and wrath - Hell - because of this sin (Rom 6:23). No matter what good works one might do we are still found sinners in the sight of our Creator God. And all unrighteousness and those who follow get indignation and wrath. We cannot be found righteous for by God’s law we are found sinners (Rom 3:19-20). If we have broken even one law we are found guilty. It is for this reason of not being able to create our own righteousness and being born in a sinful flesh that we need a savior (Titus 3:5). Christ is that Savior, God manifested in the flesh, sinless, died in our place on a cross 2000 years ago. Taking upon him the wrath and judgement that was intended for us sinners. And it is through his bloodshed, burial, and resurrection on our behalf that we are able to have peace with God and forgiveness of our sins (1 Cor 15:1-4, Col 3:14). This good news is unto all but only those that believe in it are made righteous in Christ (Romans 3:22). It is then after we have heard this good news of Christ’s righteousness available to us freely, that we are sealed with the Holy Spirit and we are now part of Christ’s body the church (Eph 1:13) There is nothing that we need to do, no good works that are required, and no bad works that can separate us from our new position in Christ (Romans 8:35-39). Faith and belief in this information from God’s word is the gospel. The gospel is not accepting Jesus into your heart. The gospel is not making him lord of your life, it is not saying a prayer and it is not being baptized with water. So next time someone asks you if you are saved. Give them the clear assured answer “Yes! And let me tell you why! Find more free resources at www.graceambassadors.com
Wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death? - Romans 7:24 ESV deliver: ῥύομαι: rhyomai : to draw to one's self, to rescue, to deliver. God justified us in the Redemption which is in Jesus Christ (as a greater fulfillment than Moses), whom He presented before Himself, and in His Sight; for a determined purpose, a Mercy Seat in His Blood through faithfulness: Romans 3:24. Maybe the thought of Justification is too narrow; not seeing as with the testimony of Moses the redeemer; God delivered and set free- to draw us (Moses: Draw out & come close) to Himself in Love; in Christ having peace Face to face with God (Romans 5:1-2) Justification not only includes Expiation, the Father was pleased to cast Jesus out of His Sight, to Hide His Face and as Christ bore our iniquity poured out the Fierce Jealousy of His Wrath upon His Enemies: God made peace with me His enemy by Christ/s Precious Blood shed on that Cross. Justification also included Propitiation; the Father was pleased to turn us and bring us to Himself; blameless & holy in His Sight in love, joined to Christ; His Precious Blood sprinkled on that Mercy Seat making me a harlot & unfaithful to God a betrothed & beloved Bride; sharing in Christ's faithfulness, tested in every way even to the death on the Cross: Blameless: declared Righteous in Him. for Christ was Delivered through judgement of his enemies and drawn to the Father: "He trusts in the LORD; let him deliver him; let him rescue him, for he delights in him!" - Psalm 22:8 ESV LXX: Deliver: ῥύομαι: rhyomai (Mt 27:43) Interesting: Abraham walked by faith since his call at Ur of the Chaldeans, by faith he obeyed (Heb 11), he built altars & even called on the Name of the LORD: but was not justified: His faith while in Adam was not credited righteousness. But after Abraham was credited Righteousness- God taught Abraham to whom he was joined though the testimony of Isaac: the Blameless One who walks Pros Theon- Face to Face with the Almighty: Blameless. And it is with Him God made the Eternal Covenant of Circumcision- the Circumcision of the flesh by the Spirit of God (Romans 2: 28-29) After God Most High, Adonai Jehovah justified Abraham, God molded Abraham into the Image of His Son and brought Abraham up that Mount to Himself blameless in worship in the Fear of the LORD- godliness but only together with the promised Seed We were redeemed to worship God in His Sight, to serve God in His Sight; and to present an offering by Fire in His Sight: that Offering by Fire: the Blameless offering of Christ; not relying upon our own faithfulness- but humbling self and to come to God on the basis of what is pleasing- the Blameless Faithfulness of Christ: joined to Him in an irrevocable union of covenant love. I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. - Romans 12:1-2 ESV your called near to listen to His voice (appeal) to stand near: in view of His Mercies to us in Christ. He delivered us through expiation to draw us to His Face in Propitiation: Blameless In Christ. And everyone who has this hope [fixed] on Him purifies himself, just as He is pure. - 1 John 3:3 NASB95 This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, a [hope] both sure and steadfast and one which enters within the veil, where Jesus has entered as a forerunner for us, having become a high priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek. - Hebrews 6:19-20 NASB95 But when Christ appeared [as] a high priest of the good things to come, [He entered] through the greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this creation; and not through the blood of goats and calves, but through His own blood, He entered the holy place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption. For if the blood of goats and bulls and the ashes of a heifer sprinkling those who have been defiled sanctify for the cleansing of the flesh, how much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without blemish (blameless: Face to Face without turning) to God, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God? - Hebrews 9:11-14 NASB95 Sanctification by the Spirit of God, the growing up in the Eternal Covenant of Circumcision in which we were joined; Justified in Christ. - Romans 12:1-2 ESV The Whole Burnt Offering: the offering of Sonship pointing to the Blamelessness of Christ. It was offered in the morning, it was offered in the evening; and His Fire burnt continually day and night. Present yourself to Him- let Him mold you on the Potter's Wheel of His Mercy Seat- cleansing you from all unfaithfulness and pouring into you the faithfulness of Christ through the Holy Spirit coming down from His Mercy- to regenerate, to renew us joined in Christ. For we also once were foolish ourselves, disobedient, deceived, enslaved to various lusts and pleasures, spending our life in malice and envy, hateful, hating one another. But when the kindness of God our Savior and [His] love for mankind appeared, He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to (kata: coming down from ) His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit, whom He poured out upon us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that being justified by His grace we would be made heirs according to [the] hope of eternal life. - Titus 3:3-7 NASB95 ua-cam.com/video/mTSQun6B66E/v-deo.html Did you notice Moses going into battle following that Mercy Seat upon the Ark of the Covenant; Joshua in crossing the Jordan into the enemy territory: the Land of Promise followed that Mercy Seat- and when the Priest carrying the Ark rested their feet in the banks of the Jordan, God cut off the flow from the City of Adam to the Sea of Death; and the Israelites crossed and came to Gilgal where the men were Circumcised; they could not fight in the strength of the flesh (Gen 34) but God rolled away their reproach- their shame from being in Adam: and the Lord of Host appeared and Joshua became great in their eyes. "My people, remember now What Balak king of Moab counseled And what Balaam son of Beor answered him, [And] from Shittim to Gilgal, So that you might know the righteous acts of the LORD." - Micah 6:5 NASB95 "When you go out to battle against your enemies and see horses, chariots, [and] people more numerous than you, do not be afraid of them; for the LORD your God, who brought you up from the land of Egypt, is with you. "When you are approaching the battle, the priest shall come forward and speak to the people. "He shall say to them, 'Hear, Israel, you are approaching the battle against your enemies today. Do not be fainthearted. Do not be afraid, or panic, or be terrified by them, for the LORD your God is the One who is going with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save you.' - Deuteronomy 20:1-4 NASB20 "Only in the cities of these peoples that the LORD your God is giving you as an inheritance, you shall not leave anything that breathes alive. "Instead, you shall utterly destroy them, the Hittite and the Amorite, the Canaanite and the Perizzite, the Hivite and the Jebusite, just as the LORD your God has commanded you, so that they will not teach you to do all the same detestable practices of theirs which they have done for their gods, by which you would sin against the LORD your God. - Deuteronomy 20:16-18 NASB20 You just cant win the battle without humbling self and presenting your self to Him at His Mercy Seat. He redeemed you and drew you close to Himself that He might give you the inheritance; the reward of His Righteousness. We pray, " Take this sin away, Lord," and then nothing happens... Because we have to fight sin, the sin thats already been defeated by Jesus, we have the grace to kill this sin, we fight on our knees, we meditate on the word, we change our thoughts. We can choose. He has made it possible. Praise Him
So the sins that Jesus defeated need to be killed by us, because these sins were not really defeated by Jesus!

Absolutely beautiful and wonderful I agree whole heartedly...oh that more pastors would preach about being holy holy ,holy and walk that narrow path way.

May God continue to bless Pastor Piper!! What a glorious sermon!!! May the Lord give us that passion for the word!
Be Holy in all our conduct.
Praise the Lord God for this lesson.

John piper... Thank you, but thank the Lord for placing this in you and in my husband for sending me this. I can't do this on my own but only through my Lord Jesus Christ.
Put on the new man in righteousness
And true holiness!
Conformed to the image of Christ, the image of the invisible God.
Miraculous work of the Holy Spirit.
I really enjoyed this message it's a life changing sermon.

Christianity began as sun worship, the stories about Jesus are symbolic.
He is just a personification of the sun, made into a god figure later on.
The sun "dies" for 3 days on December 22nd, the winter solstice, when it stops its movement south, to be born again or resurrected on December 25th, when it resumes its movement north.
In some areas, the calendar originally began in the constellation of Virgo, and the sun would therefore be "born of a Virgin"
The sun rising in the morning is "the saviour of mankind"
The sun is "The light of the World"
The sun "walks on water" is just the reflection of the sun on water/the sea.
"He cometh on clouds, and every eye shall see him", is just sun rays.
Jesus' "crown of thorns" is just the sun's glare, also know as a halo.
The sun's "followers", "helpers" or "disciples" are the 12 months and the 12 signs of the zodiac or constellations, through which the sun must pass.
The sun at 12 noon is in the house or temple of the "Most High": thus.."he" begins "his Father's work" at "age" 12.
The sun enters into each sign of the zodiac at 30 degrees, hense, the "Sun of God" begins his ministry at "age" 30.
The sun is hung on a cross or "crucified", which represents its passing through the equinoxes.
The vernal equinox being Easter, at which time it is then resurrected.
The reason why saviour myths are so similar with a godman who is crucified and resurrected, who does miracles and has 12 disciples, is that these stories were based on the movements of the sun through the heavens, an astrotheological development that can be found throughout the planet, because the sun and the 12 zodiac signs can be observed around the globe.
In other words, Jesus Christ and all the others upon whom this character is predicated are personifications of the sun, and the Gospel fable is merely a rehash of a mythological formula revolving around the movements of the sun throug the heavens..

Appreciate this message. Some of the content some pastors put out against moralism often gets me questioning whether it's really possible to know right from wrong or if it's all just relative, whether some ways to live are really more right than others or not, etc. It starts to feel like they are saying we can't really know right from wrong, so all we can do is live however we do and believe we're saved.
Which is better to us.....getting out of hell or walking into heaven? A get out of hell card wains, a life w God inspires. Thank you, pastor John.

Amen.... absolutely there is not enough preaching on holiness. Praise the Lord John Piper does not shy away from it as many do. Any preaching that does not call a person to holy living as part of their redemption and sanctification is false preaching and deceptive.
When I was in sem we were taught in doing a sermon to look for a goal, malody that gets in the way of the goal, and means which is the Gospel answer to the malody. It would often make preaching that cut short any serious dealing with the text and then dismiss any specific commands by saying you can't do it but Jesus forgives you
You are not alone 🙏🏾

John Piper

I have a question that seems to host a lot of disagreement: do we sin everyday and are we bound to always sin, knowingly or unknowingly? I believe that is false but I want to hear other people's thoughts. Thanks!
Paul lived with a clear conscience before God..That at least means he knew of no area in his life where he was sinning against God.
Jesus paid the price for our sins so we wouldn’t have to! So trust in Jesus as Lord and Savior. Also repent so you don’t perish!
And we( I sincerely)have trembled for years at the simple thought of

In other words, Jesus Christ and all the others upon whom this character is predicated are personifications of the sun, and the Gospel fable is merely a rehash of a mythological formula revolving around the movements of the sun throug the heavens..

When did Larry David become a preacher?
WE MUST BE BORN AGAIN
You are born again when you are like Jesus. Then you are sinless
1 John 2:
3 And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.
I’ll give you my testimony:
16 May 2011 , I asked Jesus in my heart.
If they missed it then maybe the didn't really get the calling?lack discernment?

Slightly different perception: I would say that Christ LIVED to show us we ALREADY ARE holy ! (It is handy that we don't ACT holy.)
If you are living in habitual sin you have never been born again
Piper stepped on sooo many toes on this one. . .
@jameskemmerer news flash mate...you sin and are a sinner everyday.
The righteousness you could have has nothing to do with your actions!
I think he is equating holy with sinless.

The ancient references to Jesus are not just found in works by Christian authors, an argument that supports the historical authenticity of the character.
With the weight of all this evidence, for Meyers “those who deny the existence of Jesus are like the deniers of climate change.”
And all this despite the fact that physical remains are virtually non-existent.
@@Gamefan86
The Shroud analysis
As for the Shroud of Turin, the burial shroud that the body of Jesus was said to have been wrapped in, it has been revealed to be a medieval counterfeit.
You have been telling your congregation all along the church's doctrine of salvation to be:
▪︎ salvation is free, by God's grace and not by works - this is Paul's gospel.
▪︎ one is saved if one "openly declaring that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead". Rom 10:9
▪︎ one is justified to be saved - "for it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith". Rom 10.10
And so, your flock believed salvation is by uttering words and believing in the heart!
Let me show the relevant verses to your viewers:
Jn 17:19
"And I give myself as a holy sacrifice for them so they can be made holy by your truth."
Jesus’s holy sacrifice:
- pays for the sins of "them".
- so that the Father can make them holy by His truth.
But who is this "them"‽
They are Jesus’s disciples, who obeyed his commandments and endured the wrath of the evil world.
Jesus’s prayer to the Father prior to this verse, are:
John Chapter 17:
Jn 17:6-8
“I have revealed you to the ones you gave me from this world. They were always yours. You gave them to me, and they have kept your word."
Now they know that everything I have is a gift from you, for I have passed on to them the message you gave me.
They accepted it and know that I came from you, and they believe you sent me.
Jn 17:13-14
“Now I am coming to you. I told them many things while I was with them in this world so they would be filled with my joy.
I have given them your word. And the world hates them because they do not belong to the world, just as I do not belong to the world."
Jn 17:17-19
"Make them holy by your truth; teach them your word, which is truth.
Just as you sent me into the world, I am sending them into the world.
And I give myself as a holy sacrifice for them so they can be made holy by your truth."
Jesus forgives the sins of his own only after they show themselves to be faithful disciples.
He forgives their sins so that the Father can make them holy to be used for His glory.
Mat 16:24
Then Jesus said to his disciples, “If any of you wants to be my follower, you must give up your own way, take up your cross, and follow me."
No one who does not obey Jesus’s commandment to "give up your own way, take up your cross, and follow me" will be saved, nor granted eternal life.
So, Pastor, realize you are teaching the devil's sermon, which leads your innocent flock into hell!
There's a hefty price to pay for teachers like you.

The Gospel:
Plain and
Simple
“But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent
beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your
minds should be corrupted from the simplicity
that is in Christ.” - 2 Corithians 11:3
Ask someone today if they are saved and
you will most likely hear responses like these:
“I have accepted Jesus into my heart.” Or “I
have made him Lord of my life.” “I’ve been
baptized.” “I said a prayer.” Sounds all good
and churchy don’t it; but it is difficult to de-termine whether or not a person actually
knows the gospel that saves them. These useless phrases don’t describe a thing about what
the gospel is and has left a devastating effect
of people not knowing what it is that they are
saved from nor how they are saved; which
leaves a more serious effect of people questioning their salvation.
Let’s not muddy the simplicity of salvation that is in Christ with vague church
sounding phrases that do not communicate
anything. But rather present God’s word with
clarity and assuredness. So here is the gospel:
plain and simple.
Sin was passed upon all men by one man
Adam, and death is a consequence of this sin
(Rom 5:12). Mankind has an eternal destiny of
condemnation and wrath - Hell - because of
this sin (Rom 6:23). No matter what good
works one might do we are still found sinners
in the sight of our Creator God. And all unrighteousness and those who follow get indignation and wrath. We cannot be found
righteous for by God’s law we are found sinners (Rom 3:19-20). If we have broken even
one law we are found guilty.
It is for this reason of not being able to
create our own righteousness and being born
in a sinful flesh that we need a savior (Titus
3:5). Christ is that Savior, God manifested in
the flesh, sinless, died in our place on a cross
2000 years ago. Taking upon him the wrath
and judgement that was intended for us sinners. And it is through his bloodshed, burial,
and resurrection on our behalf that we are
able to have peace with God and forgiveness
of our sins (1 Cor 15:1-4, Col 3:14). This good
news is unto all but only those that believe in
it are made righteous in Christ (Romans
3:22).
It is then after we have heard this good
news of Christ’s righteousness available to us freely, that we are sealed with the Holy Spirit
and we are now part of Christ’s body the
church (Eph 1:13)
There is nothing that we need to do, no
good works that are required, and no bad
works that can separate us from our new position in Christ (Romans 8:35-39).
Faith and belief in this information from
God’s word is the gospel.
The gospel is not accepting Jesus into your
heart. The gospel is not making him lord of
your life, it is not saying a prayer and it is not
being baptized with water.
So next time someone asks you if you are
saved. Give them the clear assured answer
“Yes! And let me tell you why!

Wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death? - Romans 7:24 ESV
deliver: ῥύομαι: rhyomai : to draw to one's self, to rescue, to deliver. God justified us in the Redemption which is in Jesus Christ (as a greater fulfillment than Moses), whom He presented before Himself, and in His Sight; for a determined purpose, a Mercy Seat in His Blood through faithfulness: Romans 3:24. Maybe the thought of Justification is too narrow; not seeing as with the testimony of Moses the redeemer; God delivered and set free- to draw us (Moses: Draw out & come close) to Himself in Love; in Christ having peace Face to face with God (Romans 5:1-2)
Justification not only includes Expiation, the Father was pleased to cast Jesus out of His Sight, to Hide His Face and as Christ bore our iniquity poured out the Fierce Jealousy of His Wrath upon His Enemies: God made peace with me His enemy by Christ/s Precious Blood shed on that Cross.
Justification also included Propitiation; the Father was pleased to turn us and bring us to Himself; blameless & holy in His Sight in love, joined to Christ; His Precious Blood sprinkled on that Mercy Seat making me a harlot & unfaithful to God a betrothed & beloved Bride; sharing in Christ's faithfulness, tested in every way even to the death on the Cross: Blameless: declared Righteous in Him.
for Christ was Delivered through judgement of his enemies and drawn to the Father: "He trusts in the LORD; let him deliver him; let him rescue him, for he delights in him!" - Psalm 22:8 ESV
LXX: Deliver: ῥύομαι: rhyomai (Mt 27:43)
Interesting: Abraham walked by faith since his call at Ur of the Chaldeans, by faith he obeyed (Heb 11), he built altars & even called on the Name of the LORD: but was not justified: His faith while in Adam was not credited righteousness. But after Abraham was credited Righteousness- God taught Abraham to whom he was joined though the testimony of Isaac: the Blameless One who walks Pros Theon- Face to Face with the Almighty: Blameless. And it is with Him God made the Eternal Covenant of Circumcision- the Circumcision of the flesh by the Spirit of God (Romans 2: 28-29)
After God Most High, Adonai Jehovah justified Abraham, God molded Abraham into the Image of His Son and brought Abraham up that Mount to Himself blameless in worship in the Fear of the LORD- godliness but only together with the promised Seed
We were redeemed to worship God in His Sight, to serve God in His Sight; and to present an offering by Fire in His Sight: that Offering by Fire: the Blameless offering of Christ; not relying upon our own faithfulness- but humbling self and to come to God on the basis of what is pleasing- the Blameless Faithfulness of Christ: joined to Him in an irrevocable union of covenant love.
- Romans 12:1-2 ESV
your called near to listen to His voice (appeal) to stand near: in view of His Mercies to us in Christ. He delivered us through expiation to draw us to His Face in Propitiation: Blameless In Christ.
And everyone who has this hope [fixed] on Him purifies himself, just as He is pure. - 1 John 3:3 NASB95
This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, a [hope] both sure and steadfast and one which enters within the veil, where Jesus has entered as a forerunner for us, having become a high priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek. - Hebrews 6:19-20 NASB95
But when Christ appeared [as] a high priest of the good things to come, [He entered] through the greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this creation; and not through the blood of goats and calves, but through His own blood, He entered the holy place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption. - Hebrews 9:11-14 NASB95
Sanctification by the Spirit of God, the growing up in the Eternal Covenant of Circumcision in which we were joined; Justified in Christ.
- Romans 12:1-2 ESV
The Whole Burnt Offering: the offering of Sonship pointing to the Blamelessness of Christ.
- Titus 3:3-7 NASB95

Did you notice Moses going into battle following that Mercy Seat upon the Ark of the Covenant; Joshua in crossing the Jordan into the enemy territory: the Land of Promise followed that Mercy Seat- and when the Priest carrying the Ark rested their feet in the banks of the Jordan, God cut off the flow from the City of Adam to the Sea of Death; and the Israelites crossed and came to Gilgal where the men were Circumcised; they could not fight in the strength of the flesh (Gen 34) but God rolled away their reproach- their shame from being in Adam: and the Lord of Host appeared and Joshua became great in their eyes. "My people, remember now What Balak king of Moab counseled And what Balaam son of Beor answered him, [And] from Shittim to Gilgal, So that you might know the righteous acts of the LORD." - Micah 6:5 NASB95
"When you go out to battle against your enemies and see horses, chariots, [and] people more numerous than you, do not be afraid of them; for the LORD your God, who brought you up from the land of Egypt, is with you. - Deuteronomy 20:16-18 NASB20
