Imagine the lucky buggers who lived next door, that could hear her. I would have stuck my head over the privet singing playing Canasta in cold rooms. Such a lovely cute song.
I dig this level of sophistication so much. You see people leaving comments about how an artists sounds honest and you cringe instantly. Please, please go watch Big Brother...
Staggering that someone of 16 or 17 could create something so visceral. The tale of young person longing for a deep, lasting intense intimacy with another human being but never being able to met emotionally by the other person. They are blind to how special she really is.
@@DasdeutschesBand There is joke here in the Netherlands that you should rub toilet paper over your head when you're getting bald. When you ask "why?" the reply is: "It worked on your arse, didn't it?" so the assumption is yes. But I wasn't particularly waiting for that revelation, so thank you :D :D
I was debating with my wife about the relative merits of Kate Bush and Katy Perry yesterday. "Katy Perry," said my wife, "was completely ignored until she started writing songs which were a bit edgy. "I kissed a girl and I liked it" really put her on the map. So Katy Perry writes songs which challenge people's beliefs that women should be clean and pure and never write about sex." So I replied, "On Kate Bush's first album was a song about menstruation, one about having sex with someone she met at a party, having sex with someone she met at a railway station, and a suicide as a result of a pregnancy caused by an incestuous relationship. On her second album was a song celebrating the act of sexual intercourse, alleged homosexual practices amongst the acting community, a song about cunnilingus and a song about a voyeur spying on a homosexual couple. On her third album was a song about an adult kiss from a small child, and..." My wife responded, "Okay, okay, you've made your point."
Katy Perry succeeded because she sold her soul (so she signed a contract), she told it herself. she didn't succeed thanks to her talent, or not really.
A ragged gem and a pleasure to hear. Sometimes known as Playing Canasta, but academic. This song throws up an especial atmosphere, sounding like an incredible b-side to an amazing unheard-of a-side. Needs a commercial outlet, along with all the other recently-unearthed treasures...
Kate working the keys . . . a raw and promising start of a decades long career that we can enjoy for all time. Found her later in life . . . very happy.
Playing Canasta is probably the "official" name for it. Many of these bootlegs didn't come with any songtitles attached so the bootleggers had to make a best guess at it. "Playing Canasta" is better quality than most so its probably closer to the source than most, so most likely the original title.
I'm only familiar with about 20% of her official release output, but for some reason I know this one. I think someone on atforumz posted it for download several years back. I like it.
Maybe you can find a good piano player who can do that for you. Kate didn't want to bring out this music, so sheet music will be hard to find. Google didn't find it.
The quality of her piano playing is exceptional, and she was only 14! God, I'm overwhelmed by the genius of this fabulous woman.

One of her most beautiful demos...maybe even one of her best songs. Chills.

Oh Kate please record these songs again!
i think this is my all time fave Kb song and that's like picking your favourite child.
Agree

So good it makes me want to cry (and I'm a 46 year old hairy arsed bloke !!)
Ha ha...46 y.o. bloke here. You're not alone. I probably HAVE cried. Not sure I want to reveal wether my arse is hairy or not.

You can't compare Kate Bush with the other thing. Kate bush got talent ...
@@loiseaugilles5405 I even don't know who is Katy Perry....
Besides, Jill Sobule wrote that song BEFORE Katy Perry! (:
Katy Perry doesn't write any of her own songs, she has a song writer

Wonderful 💓
So much raw talent at such a young age...
she has written for about 200 lyrics in the begining from her career.when she was a teenager.she recorded any demos.
First time I've listened to this in a few years. Such a moving performance, it almost brings you to tears!
She has actually said herself in interviews that she was about 11 years old when she started playing.
Kate a,une voix magnifique

Lovely song, never heard this before. I have or had almost all of Kate's albums.
Most of her demo tapes are very nice...
Beautiful btw

Oh girl ...i feel you
This begs for a remake. I just might do it myself.

favourited.
Anyone know what this song's about?

@oddn Excellent performance yes, but if this is actually from '76 she was 17/18 years old.
I loved this song the first time I heard it. Does anyone know where I can find the sheet music.

❤
What's wrong with loving someone like a child does anyway?

Sophia And Amy That's quite mature of you, kid. Ironically
