I nearly useing the same colours for black fur, but I never tried the Derwent Lightfast pencils. Just ordered some if them and hope to receive them soon 🤗 thank you for this tip!!
Oh good grief you're wonderful. I wanted to pat him, hug him and steal him away home. I do watercolor, but it's clear your color advice transcends mediums and I'm so grateful. Awesome!
I notice your Derwent Chinese White pencil has a lovely sharp point. I have trouble getting fine points on my Derwent Drawing pencils. Would you mind sharing what sharpener you use? Many thanks! Love your videos!!
I have been doing colored pencil work for years... how did you acquire all the techniques and tricks for reàlism in just six years? And... do you use blending stumps at all?
I drew a lot, experiment and I think pick up a lot from groups etc. I have had no format training in the techniques I use it’s been through trial and error 🥰
This may sound dumb, but does the pastelmat create dust when you’re working? If it does, how do you keep the paper so white around your subject without it smudging?
Not dumb at all - yes it does create dust - not that much but enough, plus pastelmat attracts every single little particle of dust that's around as well lol! What I do is keep it covered when I'm not working on it, and then I regularly just go over the surface with my putty eraser and dab off anything that's collected there.
Bonny Snowdon Fine Art Thank you! I am new to sanded paper and have wanted to do pieces without a background, just white paper like this, but I am having a hard time keeping the dark colored dust from smudging. I use a kneaded eraser to try and clean it up but I’ve had a bit of a struggle. I just ordered some glassine paper to use under my hand and to protect it while I’m not working on it. Thank you for taking the time to answer my question. I think you work is so amazingly beautiful!❤️
I am from Australia, and your videos and tutorials are really inspiring, and the quality of your work is truly amazing. Thankyou for taking the time to provide them for all the world to see! I was just wondering, now that you have been drawing for quite a few yrs, what do you find is the best position for your paper? Do you draw flat on a table or do you find an incline allows you to work with less strain?
thank you so much :) I cannot draw flat - for one it hurts my back and shoulders, and for two, I find I struggle with perspective - because I tend to draw freehand with not detail in my line drawings, I like to see the whole piece when I'm drawing, so having it flat means the perspective is all wrong. I've always drawn on an angle - my preferred angle is around 75°, the drawing board I have at the moment is around 60° :)

What is the blue pencil called ? Thank you
I think it’s most likely to be dark indigo 🥰
It sounds like it is for the highlights on a black dog.It looks like a light blue, but I couldn't understand the name of the pencil.Ty 😊

The links don't work anymore
I'm sorry to hear that! Are you having problems with all of the links?
For this video yes
The Facebook links
It could be the new Facebook rules after brexit. Things have all gone a bit Pear shaped sadly. The video are all still on Facebook
Good advice! IF YOU CAN AFFORD THOSE VERY EXPENSIVE BRANDS OF PENCILS! Me? I am not a professional, paid for commissions!
