Installing a MaxxAir Fan in a Van

- A roof vent is critical for van dwelling, otherwise you will suffocate or get cooked alive. A few days before taking off on a big road trip I went through the complete install of the Maxxair Deluxe in my 2021 Ford Transit, which is the best fan on the market. It doubles as a skylight and can be remote controlled, but installing it yourself requires a scientific approach otherwise you could catastrophically damage your van. Unlike other videos, I don't skip over any steps in this video.
ABOUT ME:
In two decades of traveling the USA I discovered many weird, haunted, and beautiful places. I decided to start a UA-cam channel about my visits to them. My day typically begins with me driving somewhere for the sunrise, visiting an unusual local spot, hiking a nearby trail, and shooting the sunset wherever I end up.

Nice hoodie… set it off!
The 4 screws that secure the fan to the housing, all you need to do is ease the metal clips up slightly on the housing
I fitted my fan yesterday an cudnt get last screwhole lined up .il get back up today an try an move metal bit .thanks for that
Shud prob do test fit if vent fits the hole? Make sure hole is big enugh? Before proceeding? Square hole Vent wont be problem? More concerned about window contours may be more of challenge?
I have 2014 Ram Promaster HR 1500. I boughr Maxxair vent but havent installed it yet? I also want a window on each side for cross ventilation. Yes, out vans can be ovens in the summer. Mine is dark grey so really gets Hot!
Thx for the video!
I like that you used the RTV sealant and flex seal.
Gotta ask. How had the been holding up?
Input?
The silicone sealant needs to be dug out and replaced every two years. Lap sealant will last about four years but then will also need to be replaced. I went with silicone because lap sealant is so messy looking and only comes in white.
