Very helpful information. I was able to use this information in a PowerPoint presentation on 4/22/19 at the University of the District of Columbia. I'm a Social Work and Political Science major and presented in my Social Work Practicum 2 course. Thanks a million
A good lecture, typical academic social work stuff. In real life you don't have time to do all of this prep work and besides the practitioner should only be asking one question. " who does this really benefit. the client or the agency" Besides In most agencies the data is not accurate. anybody can make anything look good. Start where the client is at and go from there. Social work 101
This is a nice extended definition of EBP. While counter-arguments are presented they are not discussed. Nor is there a discussion about real world issues and the influence of the insurance/payor industry's co-opting of the term EBP as a way to control costs. There is definitely a place for EBP in our work but the payor application of the term 'EBP' in a cookie-cutter manner hurts and denies treatment for a great many clients.
