I’m doing this. Currently work for Amazon and they’ll transfer me. I’ve been wasting time in a heartless relationship and my 30th birthday is this summer. I’m gonna give myself the gift of a fresh start. I’ve decided this is what I want.
I'm convinced I picked the wrong state to be in and I have a plan to move there in 4 years. Seems to me Houston has a very California-like vibe that's has been growing for decades. Only considerably more affordable.
Love your delivery and the positive spin you put on things here in Houston. Even the "Cons" you manage to give an upbeat spin on it. Being retired now, under the "Cons" I personally would swap the traffic and the heat positions. But that's just me. Since retiring, I've taken up photography/videography and I always try to show Houston's glossy side. And considering where I migrated from 40 years ago (NYC) Houston is many steps ahead when it comes to livability.
The visit is spot in we relocated here from Chicago spot to years ago. Keep the content coming I love how you got straight to the point. Oh you missed an important 👎🏾 dislike the bugs lol Texas roaches and love bugs are annoying lol.
I'm moving this summer to the Houston/League City area. I currently live in the Seattle area. Even though its months and months away I'm really excited about the move. Your toll roads are cheap!! I pay $7.65 lol.
I'm actually wanting to move to Houston end of 2022/beginning of 2023. I'm planning to visit a few times before I do. How far out should I be in contact with a realtor?
Some days it is, most days it's cool out. We rarely ever get snow and when we do, it isn't much at all. Never like any place up north. You'll see ice on everything before snow here.
Definitely haven't had snow and I've been here going on 3 years. Mild winters with cold snaps that last a few days. Nothing like up north (which is where I'm from).
Yes stay in the med center area. You'll have your choice of facility's down there. Don't let people fool you with the Katy b.s.. it's average at best, and to far away from the city. Hth
It honestly depend on your budget and the type of environment you desire to live in. Houston is so big and then you have the outskirts to consider as well. Now I will say I agree with Dre. If you don't want to be in the hood or unsafe areas you aren't comfortable with, stay away from those places, as well as 3rd ward, southeast (specifically south park, sunnyside areas). Settegast, trinity gardens, east houston, north forest area, the list could go on. It's best to either work with a realtor or get assistance from a friend or acquaintance who is a native Houstonian. Hope this helps.
Cypress is cool, but far from the center of the city. It really depends on where you will be working and how far of a commute you want to do. Traffic is bad here (like a major city), try to live as close to your job as you can. P.S. I'm from Ohio too! Been in H-Town almost 3 years. OH!
cypress is very nice, they have so many shops and restaurants. Its very clean, you dont want to be near the city center like downtown, its trashy. Cypress and woodlands are nice! Great school districts also. I live in Houston
I am married with 3 school aged kids and packing up and moving to Houston this upcoming week and mother’s with kids will to give me advice on good and affordable areas to look for homes with pretty decent schools?? I have 2 elementary and 1 middle schooler. Prefer a house but open to apartments and would love to be within 20 min of a nice park. Thanks
does anybody have an idea of how the autism services are in Tx ? family and i are considering moving down there, but i have a sister with autism, so we're trying to gather up info. is there personal care assistance or an equivalent of that down there ? can relatives be p.c.a. / work as care-takers ?

I just need to know if the women look and speak like you out there because I need that in my life.
Love your UA-cam suggestions

You didn't mention mosquitoes; there's no mosquitoes controls in Houston and metro Houston.

Hi, I'm in the Medical field,
And looking to relocate there in May of this year. What are good safe areas to look at for 2-3 bedroom apartment.
Have you already secured a job? If so, start by looking at the complexes near the job. That'll be best.

What part should we avoid that doesn't flood?
At this point no where in Houston is totally exempt from flooding. My advice, invest in a truck when you move here.
