They were only 21 when we left off and we have no idea what happens after that. I’m really upset that there was no 2020 update when it came to Brittany and Santana. All we know is that they are still happily married. I also suspect that Santana never really wanted fame to begin with. Rachel wanted to be on Broadway from day one. Mercedes always talked about being a recording artist. Santana’s goals were never clear.
The good part is, it's up for us fans to decide what happens to Brittana. In my head, Brittany becomes a famous vlogger, on UA-cam, where she would post videos of her life with her wife, their cats, and their kids. Brittany, being a math genius, also came up with a groundbreaking math theorem, which led to her being invited as a speaker in seminars and making tons of money in the process. Santana, after helping Mercedes find inspiration for her first, and successful, album, was naturally asked to become a producer and songwriter for Mercedes' next albums too, and soon enough, she was noticed by other artists and asked to co-write and produce songs for them too. Ta da. The Brittana ending we deserved.
I think this goes to show that Santana wasn’t somebody who ONLY cared about popularity. In fact santana being popular wasn’t necessarily because she strived for it but it was mostly due to her having immense amounts of confidence and being outgoing. If you look back at the show Santana never particularly had it out for any of the people of color who were looked over like her in the glee club. She always had smoke for the people who got much more attention and were problematic. In fact most times where she called out something it was absolutely necessary. That’s not to say that there weren’t times where she was just being an asshole to be an asshole but in most cases it was something unfair happening or it was for brittany and her friends
On top of that if it weren’t for her genuine tough love the glee club wouldn’t have grown up to be somewhat better people in the future. Low key pissed still she didn’t get a more fulfilling ending than just a honeymoon with Brittany. But yes sis you defined our girl so perfectly🤍
I wholeheartedly agree. Was she just being a jerk a lot of the time? Definitely. But Santana really only insulted Rachel and Finn most of the time and let's be honest, they mostly deserved it. For the good people they (especially Finn) claimed to be, they were both assholes who did dirty shit. Throughout the show you can really see that she definitely took on a huge leadership role in the glee club and also was extremely smart and tactical. Even Rachel mentions that while Santana could be really cruel at times she kept everybody honest.
We all know the writers and producers were fatphobic and lowkey racist towards Amber. That’s the only excuse they could make up to try and say Rachel was better.

If there was any justice or fairness in this world, it should have been Mercedes and Santana in LA together, with Quinn coming along later to fulfill her dreams of being an actress (IIRC she once told Rachel she was gonna audition for Yale’s drama program). Then Kurt and Rachel could have stayed in NYC (as much as I would have loved to have Kurt in LA with everyone else, his heart and his interests I feel were truly in NYC)
If the producers were smart, they would have made a spin-off and continued with Sancedes, featuring Brittany (since she went on tour with Mercedes) and Sam. If not a spin-off series, at least a limited one. They really were the best duo on the show.
I love this!!! Sancedes should have had as many duets as Finchel. On a side note, I got emotional watching this knowing that Naya is no longer with us. She gave Santana so much depth. She went from a bully to everyone's best friend by the end of the series.
I will never forgive Glee for treating this friendship the way they did. They should’ve gotten more screen time and duets. Not to mention how they tried to replace Kurtcedes with Hummelberry.

In the words of Amber Riley herself "best duets on the show!! With a special shout out to the Troubletones" I swear, their voices were just so freaking heavenly together. The harmonies, the runs, the belts, everything about these two singing together was just perfect. We did NOT get enough of them singing together. Plus, I can't help but think of what Amber herself actually said about how there was never any competition between the two of them while filming - just love, respect, and pure adoration for one another and that makes my heart happy!!
Watching this makes me really wish that we got a glee spin-off show with all the New York characters it would have given enough time for relationship like there's to be shown and space to grow😭😢
Glee York City would have been a great spin-off and had a chance for two shows to have some connecting storylines, like Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel.
The part where Santana literally sacrificed every chance she had with the music so Mercedes was getting her album made me cry all over again and when she said “I’m not worth it” this was so heartbreaking but Mercedes didn’t gave up on her which was to coolest thing ever and made her sign it and said that she was worth it. My favorite duo hands down! Love this video because it showed not only the friendship and mutual respect Mercedes and Santana had for each other but it also showed that Santana wasn't the one dimensional mean girl. As a matter of fact I'd say she was no more "mean" than quite a few of the characters on Glee, she just was awesome at delivering a read and so she stood out more. Hell, Sue was an evil teacher and the fans call Santana out more. Rachel, Quinn, even Becky had moments, and Kitty was plain horrible. Puck, Karofsky and yes even Finn when he outed Santana as well as when he was intimidating to Quinn when she was in the wheelchair at prom, yet Santana got all the smoke on the series. She was a loyal friend and I loved that she cared more about Mercedes' deal than she did about getting herself discovered. Same went for her covering for Rachel even though Rachel treated her horribly for wanting to be her understudy. Rachel was the one who never wanted to see anyone else have a shot and succeed unless she did first. Santana did not risk Mercedes' chance. So really, you have to wonder why Santana is worse when she never sent another singer to a crack house. She wasn't afraid to put her talents against anybody.
100% agreed. i honestly get annoyed when people disregard all the good santana did throughout the series and just reduce her to “the bully”. yeah, she had her mean moments (some being necessary like calling schue out), but i also find that the characters painted to be “good” like rachel or finn were way worse at times. what you mentioned is a great example of that - when finn tried forcing quinn out of her wheelchair compared to santana jumping to help her when she finally stood. she had incredible development and it makes the moments when she supports others or stands up for her friends even more meaningful and wholesome, as seen in my other vid (ua-cam.com/video/ArWchQdZAMM/v-deo.html) ❤️

Before I rant this video wasn't supposed to make me cry but it did. Most of this was Amber and Naya and I'm an emotional mess right now. Sancedes was a real friendship. A friendship that should've continued into S4 where Santana moves into Mercedes' place in LA, why? Because Santana and Mercedes had actual history of being friends unlike P*zberry. I'm not convinced that Santana and Penny Loafers squashed their beef after that one Whitney Houston episode. You're telling me So Emotional is supposed to be better than River Deep Mountain High, The Boy Is Mine, Dancing Queen, and etc?!!!! Because it's not! Mercedes knew that Santana had talent and that her talent deserved recognition and vice versa. That's how friendships work it's not just a one way street, but apparently that's what Penny Loafers assumes. Santana was an actual friend to Mercedes and let's be honest she's the ONLY person who apologized for not being there for Mercedes and I appreciate that. Mercedes made sure to always include Santana whether it's in The TroubleTones or her album. The scene where Mercedes talked to her manager (I think he was her manager) about putting Santana on her album always gets me emotional because Mercedes risked her own career for Santana to get her proper recognition and shine. This is a friendship that should've been showcased. A healthy friendship between two women that both want to be seen and heard and they're both okay with sharing that spotlight. We as viewers were robbed of this healthy friendship in S4 and 5 and it bugs me because instead of these two being insanely supportive and talented we had to watch Santana play second fiddle to Penny Loafers. 🙄 Just imagine Santana showing up at Mercedes place with all of her luggage late at night with a huge grin on her face. Mercedes would've been there for Santana during her breakup with Brittany and Santana would've been helping Mercedes with her music and hyping her up in the studio. Glee York City would have been a great spin-off and had a chance for two shows to have some connecting storylines, like Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel.
The part where Santana literally sacrificed every chance she had with the music so Mercedes was getting her album made me cry all over again and when she said “I’m not worth it” this was so heartbreaking but Mercedes didn’t gave up on her which was to coolest thing ever and made her sign it and said that she was worth it. That is a friendship I want 🥲♥️
Every duet they did was a moment. I just wish we'd gotten a few Quinncedes moments as well.
Quinncedes, Sancedes, and Brittcedes hold a very special place in my heart. I just love a genuine and healthy friendship. (Minus Britt confusing her TroubleTones sister with Unique 😒😒 stupid writers.)

My favorite duo hands down! Love this video because it showed not only the friendship and mutual respect Mercedes and Santana had for each other but it also showed that Santana wasn't the one dimensional mean girl. As a matter of fact I'd say she was no more "mean" than quite a few of the characters on Glee, she just was awesome at delivering a read and so she stood out more. Hell, Sue was an evil teacher and the fans call Santana out more. Rachel, Quinn, even Becky had moments, and Kitty was plain horrible. Puck, Karofsky and yes even Finn when he outed Santana as well as when he was intimidating to Quinn when she was in the wheelchair at prom, yet Santana got all the smoke on the series. She was a loyal friend and I loved that she cared more about Mercedes' deal than she did about getting herself discovered. Same went for her covering for Rachel even though Rachel treated her horribly for wanting to be her understudy. Rachel was the one who never wanted to see anyone else have a shot and succeed unless she did first. Santana did not risk Mercedes' chance. So really, you have to wonder why Santana is worse when she never sent another singer to a crack house. She wasn't afraid to put her talents against anybody.
100% agreed. i honestly get annoyed when people disregard all the good santana did throughout the series and just reduce her to “the bully”. yeah, she had her mean moments (some being necessary like calling schue out), but i also find that the characters painted to be “good” like rachel or finn were way worse at times. what you mentioned is a great example of that - when finn tried forcing quinn out of her wheelchair compared to santana jumping to help her when she finally stood. she had incredible development and it makes the moments when she supports others or stands up for her friends even more meaningful and wholesome, as seen in my other vid (ua-cam.com/video/ArWchQdZAMM/v-deo.html) ❤️

Before I rant this video wasn't supposed to make me cry but it did. Most of this was Amber and Naya and I'm an emotional mess right now. Sancedes was a real friendship. A friendship that should've continued into S4 where Santana moves into Mercedes' place in LA, why? Because Santana and Mercedes had actual history of being friends unlike P*zberry. I'm not convinced that Santana and Penny Loafers squashed their beef after that one Whitney Houston episode. You're telling me So Emotional is supposed to be better than River Deep Mountain High, The Boy Is Mine, Dancing Queen, and etc?!!!! Because it's not! Mercedes knew that Santana had talent and that her talent deserved recognition and vice versa. That's how friendships work it's not just a one way street, but apparently that's what Penny Loafers assumes. Santana was an actual friend to Mercedes and let's be honest she's the ONLY person who apologized for not being there for Mercedes and I appreciate that. Mercedes made sure to always include Santana whether it's in The TroubleTones or her album. The scene where Mercedes talked to her manager (I think he was her manager) about putting Santana on her album always gets me emotional because Mercedes risked her own career for Santana to get her proper recognition and shine. This is a friendship that should've been showcased. A healthy friendship between two women that both want to be seen and heard and they're both okay with sharing that spotlight. We as viewers were robbed of this healthy friendship in S4 and 5 and it bugs me because instead of these two being insanely supportive and talented we had to watch Santana play second fiddle to Penny Loafers. 🙄 Just imagine Santana showing up at Mercedes place with all of her luggage late at night with a huge grin on her face. Mercedes would've been there for Santana during her breakup with Brittany and Santana would've been helping Mercedes with her music and hyping her up in the studio. Do you understand how ROBBED we were?!!!! Does this not bother anyone else?!

We got a little of Roy and Mike but in the small screentime they had they were sometimes weird so I do think they are as problematic as the rest of the cast which is fine because it's in the satiric spirit of the show
