I was a student an New England Aikikai. Japanese are very paramilitary. I had several instructors, but never having tested for a dan or kyu rank, Kanai never said two words to me. I loved that school.
Kanai Sensei was the youngest of Ueshiba's in house students. I believe that he was a judo nidan before Aikido, and he also was an iaido master. This is the real deal. Do you have any more?

kanai's aikido is very powerful everyone in aikido should train very hard, when o, sensei trained all his diciples he told them to train full power.
I have watched this video many times and I'm am still in awe.
