I have just the scaffolding as my gear cart and it’s so helpful.
My friend, you could add swivelling wooden "latches" to your wood shelves - just turn them 90° on a screw to lock your shelf in place.
. . . that is a great idea and I'm mad it never crossed my mind. May need to try that out.

You might be better off making the shelves from plywood because boards like that are prone to warping due to varying humidity and temperatures.
Who else is out there rocking a DIY cart on set?
Rocking the Olympia cart but will be getting this scaffolding cart for grip gear and such like the guy above commented (Peter Heald). Thanks for this tip! This seems way more versatile and definitely much cheaper than a proper cart like the Innov8 and Rock N Roller, just to carry grip gear and stands and what not. Cheers!
@@asolidmindproductions We actually have a RocknRoller in the studio, and we pulled the wheels off for the video. It's definitely a good solution for some, but I find the cart to be a little to wobbly, and their shelves are awful. You are better off building your own. The scaffolding also collapses so much better and leaves way more usable trunk space.

Nice video. Working on this build this week! How did you attach your cutter/floppies to the cart?
There are two pancakes under the other apple boxes, and I pulled them out the back a bit. Rested the floppies on there and then bungied them to the top of the scaffolding.
I’ve tried some diy options but this is interesting. Do you know how well it collapses when you have the rock n roller wheels on?
The top closes flat but the larger wheels keep the bottom from collapsing entirely, but it's nothing crazy. You can always pull the pin and remove the wheels if you need it completely flat. I find I only use the rock'n roller wheels when I go on location because of the ease of moving around. But in the studio I tend to use the stock wheels since it's not as tall so it's more comfortable for longer stretches when I'm using the top shelf as a desk.
Do you like this scaffolding better than the Alunseries? That one is a little larger but lighter
Can't say that I have used the Alunseries, I just went with the one that fit my budget the best. It's still going strong.

With the stock wheels - H 46" x L 41" x W 21.5"
With the shelves I have, I have about 11" between each shelf which gives me enough room for apple boxes and crates.
