Man, I love the Oils, did any other band ever hitch up rock with tinges of punk and wave, weird proggy breaks and that certain Aussie vibe to produce masterpieces like this and Only the Strong and Place without a Postcard and Somebody's Trying to tell me Something and Bus to Bondi and Dreamworld and and and....
Giffo was an incredible musician, with a neat rythm placement, very tasteful and punchy bass lines, ...and a bass sound which is just a treat to listen and feel indeed, especially in concert. And he was harmonizing vocals well too. I have much respect for him as a musician. In my opinion, Midnight Oil was at its peak at that time and definitely a great live band.
Ah to time travel back 38 years and see this amazing show when The Oils were at their peak youthful energy and just so powerful and confident. "Kosciusko" is a great song and noteworthy showcase of Rob's vocal skills (while playing amazing drums at the same time). Thanks for bringing these shows back to life. Cheers!
Kosiusko great part of the country that no fucker outside Aus has a clue about. Not in my day anyways. That's 50 years ago and counting. Excellent song and video.
As good as they're album music was they were a great live band. Seen em round the traps of Sydney but Selina's at the Coogee bay hotel was always special. Great venue for live music
Older than Kosciuszko Darwin down to Alice Springs Dealers in the clearinghouse The settlements explode High up in the homelands Miners drive across the land Encounter no resistance When the people block the road Older than Kosciuszko Dry white seasons years ago Darkness over Charleville The fires begin to grow No end to the hostility Now they want to be somewhere else No stranger to brutality Now they'd like to be someone else
This was an amazing simulcast concert
No end to the hostility, no stranger to brutality. call out the ultimatum until yesterday, GREAT LYRICS ALWAYS
How lucky are we though that we can come here and see this masterpiece whenever we want.

The Awesome Oils!!...One of our greatest Aussie Bands with one gutsy, hard-working Drummer who can hold a note as well...Cheers, Lads!!

Cause they filmed it back in the day
It was an ABC Australia simulcast with 2JJJ and other radio stations all around Australia mate. So they own it.
