    Brilliant video Jack! I'm sure you know by now that you are quite capable of learning to do do all manner of things! This was a thing well done. From here you can go on to make the other crucible and adapt some tools for handling the lid and the hot crucible. A second lid with a smaller hole might help to heat things quicker till you are ready to add more cans. And you can use your thermometer gun to test temperature before you touch hot things or the water. There are loads of videos about making molds with sand so you try that too. Maybe even molds with cores, who knows?
    Now then imagine this... Suppose you manage to make a part to fix, say, a lawnmower or a cycle, or a car! Just think how delighted you would be afterwards when it works a treat!
    Anyway, I'm so pleased for you, that you managed to successfully pull this off in fine style.

    Thanks, Jack! I downloaded this one!
    I hated science in school and I don't know why, unless the teacher...
    Over the years I have played around with heating lead and aluminum, and the most interesting thing that came out of that experimenting is that if you melt lead and drop in some lead battery connecters with steel nuts and bolts, the steel parts will float on top of the lead!
    Just please keep Dad around when you do anything like this video presented! We want you and A J to stay with us! Thank you.

  • @mikejames7013

    Jack buddy this proves their is nothing you can't do if you put your mind to it. Just a few suggestions. Get yourself a box of Nitrile gloves you can wear when you're handling the sand, plaster of paris and especially the charcoal so when you want to handle other stuff you don't get that dust all over it (like your tools or especially mom's hair dryer. lol, Also instead of squishing down the aluminum cans cut them up into smaller strips with metal shears, they will melt much better and faster, and finally you can create a sand mold Use a square aluminum pan (the kind you throw out after cooking a turkey) fill it with sand, pack it in there tight, then you can put a screwdriver to mold it, or a hammer, or what ever, pull the hammer, screwdriver, etc" out of the sand, then you have the shape in the sand, then pour the molten aluminum into that. I am curious on why you used a hair dryer instead of compressed air? Oh one more thing, next time use a small piece of PVC pipe the size of the hole, instead of cutting out a hole later.

    hey jack the knowledge that you practice cannot be get at school only practing in factories and the craft industry, when i was kids addicted to playing alone in backyard make experiment just reading old science books of my parent, then practicing it with simple tools, My skill at that time was to make miniature sailboats from aluminum plates from junk without a welding machine, I used the can bending technique with hammer which accidentally finded myself... apparently very common in factory

  • @musicftw711
    @musicftw711 Рік тому

    I’m extremely concerned and disappointed in the desensitized behavior in the trapping video, which comments weren’t allowed on. There are certainly more humane ways to protect livestock and pets. Trapping and unaliving an animal is about money. This is very sad behavior. Wildlife should be respected and cheering over catching a coyote you plan to unalive and sell is the ultimate disrespect for wildlife and nature. They were here first. The destruction of wildlife should always be the last option rather than the first choice.

    • @GrowJackOutdoors
      @GrowJackOutdoors  Рік тому

      I wish you could see the aftermath a single coyote has done to our flock of chickens not to mention the wild turkey and quail who’s populations are struggling because we are so over populated with predators. Predator control is a sad necessity in this part of the world even if you don’t agree with it. I can promise you that coyote suffered way less than our entire flock of chickens that was ripped apart piece by piece.
