I live in Niquia, far north of the city. Very few gringos, very friendly people. Five minutes from the Metro. Rains less in the north. That being said, Poblado, Invigado, & Sabinetta have very good resturants. Other than that I love Niquia.
Thanks for sharing! I did a 24th de diciembre one time in niquia..slept on the metro Christmas morning lol only one on the metro

Hi , thanks a lot for the information you provided.
Going to Medellin for 3 weeks vacation for the first time and I am glad saw your video.
Not sure which hotel to stay that is safe , guest friendly. Any suggestion?
Is leblon hotel okay?
And any good salsa club?
Thanks again
leblon hotel is good but check their guest policy. A lot of hotels will charge you if you bring a guest back. For salsa, check out salsa club academia.

that is awesome, will do that, thanks a lot and happy new year.
Glad to help!
Whats the name of the sports complex in Belen?
Belén deportiva
I heard Poblado was getting bad. Crime is rising in that area the most.
Naw it's fine. Stuff happens like in any city, but Poblado is still one of the most chill parts of Medellín. Yes there's some riff raff near Lleras but overall it's still super safe as long as you use common sense.
I believe the Spanish language trumps a local accent so you’re wrong on pronunciation of the city
Thanks for watching and providing your take on the Spanish language. In my opinion, languages aren't so easily defined and are evolving every day. Even españoles have different pronunciations and accents, and Spanish came from latin etc it goes on and on. Why don't you speak Anglo-Saxon English? And even that came from something before it etc.
Full disclosure I randomly said that in the video for fun discussions like this, but if someone said "med uh yeen" in front of me, I wouldn't think twice about it.
I live in the city. The local accent is Paisa and the correct pronunciation is Med-ah-jeen. As is common anywhere, Colombia has various accents depending on the region of the country. Cali is unique, as is Bogotá and the coast.
Good perspective
