You are the best motorsports UA-camr out there. You are the reason I got into IMSA because nobody else simplified and explained it as well as you did. I hope this video can reach new audiences and explain IMSA to them and turn them into fans just like your earlier explainer videos did for people like me!

I didn’t realize how much I missed IMSA until I remembered a new season is upon us.

And Continental was a tire supplier in IMSA until 2018 for P (the final year for that class until the DPI and LMP2 split), PC (until it was removed in 2017), and GTD. It was also a tire supplier for the 2 higher support series. And also, there was a GTLM car that ran Falken tires until like 2015

Great review/update. I've been a longtime IMSA fan and saw my first race at Pocono in 1981 (whale tail Porches and BMW M1's, those were the days). That being said I never fully understood the yellow flag procedures. I do now! Safe Travels and God Bless. See you at Sebring and The Glen.

I remember when American lemans came to Miller motorsports park. Now Utah Motorsports Campus. They did a 2 hours of Utah Grand Prix.

Would be interesting to go back. If I remember, it's like 4+ miles long, and I always find it interesting how the altitude affects the racing

Thanks for doing this, I was wondering what the story was with ALMS and Rolex. When I was a kid I was running around with APR. It bugged me how I never really knew about IMSA until I was older.

13:08 US sports teams are so used to tanking that they try to do it in sportscar racing too lol. Also, important to note that i have always felt like the BoP in IMSA is a lot stronger than in WEC. Underperforming cars like the Lambo or the BMW early on the season do a lot better on IMSA than the WEC, maybe they use different systems to balance the cars out

Glad to see we are getting the 24 hours of Daytona back. Didn't like the 23 Hours and 58 Minutes of Daytona as much.

The BMW win at 24h of Dubai could be a good Omen for Daytona

Hum, GTP and GTD only at Detroit sounds like a recipe for destruction and twisted metal... That might have been the same recipe of last's Detroit's race, but I've deleting that race from the memory banks.

The safety car procedure is THE weak part of the series easily.

Got that right. Virtual Safety car is a MUST at this point. Easily can be used for stalled car and debris situations
