- I'm bretty pov and I converted my cargo van into a camper and I'm new to vanlife. I'm discovering all the challenges of living on the road and I go into detail on all the challenges of vanlife and living life as a nomad.

Get the van insulated and you're going to find the temperature management a lot easier. Good luck in your adventure.
100% great advice. It hit 30s overnight tonight 🥶🥶 I was bundled up tight.
It took me about 2 weeks to leave my home state of Minnesota. I had the same fears as you. I was frozen and unable to move on. But once I hit South Dakota, I knew there was no going back. Vanlife was one of the best choices I have ever made for myself. Anything that happened out on the road, you'll figure it out. It will be fine, more than fine. It's going to be Flippin awesome!
Thank you!
Was your first stop in the badlands/black hills too?
Yes, the badlands were amazing.
Interesting POV. I resided in the same home from the time I was three until I was an adult and moved out to marry. After that, I lived in six states. I love moving around and experiencing new locations. My husband and I are now contemplating selling everything and becoming nomads. We are in the twilight of our years (65 and 77) and want to be able to see everything we can before leaving this Earth.
That’s amazing to hear! Do you guys have any bucket list places you want to visit?
Run from whats comfortable. Forget safety. Live where you fear to live. I have tried prudent planning long enough, from now on ill be mad
Travel brings power and love back into your life.
Let yourself be silently drawn by the strange pull of what you really love. It will not lead you astray.

Im about 7 months in and every day im happier that i broke out of the box society puts us in
Wow this is profound. I didn’t understand what exactly the call to hit the road was, but this makes so much sense.
See you on the road brother!
@@BrettyPOV I think you can't understand or hold what it is, you just have to have faith that it's there. It's a state of mind, a calling to explore what it really means to be a human being or something like that. It's not something tangible you can put down on a piece of paper and show it to everyone and say "here, this is why I'm doing this"
It's more like there's something deep within your personality that's ineffible and inexpressible and you express it by doing van life
At least that's true for me. Good luck!!
Go on a little adventure to a basic comfortable campsite don’t go for a month start small and know you can always go back 😊
After 4 years of vanlife I can tell you it doesn't get easier to leave. It's like target practicing. You bought the gun, you got a permit to carry, you bought the bullets and the target. Sooner or later you've just got to pull the trigger. Yes it's lonely. Yeah sometimes finding a good parking spot is hard. It also hard to find healthy food to eat. There's a list a mile long on why you shouldn't take the next step. What you got to realize is that taking that step doesn't mean as much as you think. Get on the road, if you dont like it, go back home, sell the van and get into stamp collecting or bird watching. There's a lot of hobbies that you can do that doesn't involve breakdowns on the side of the road, being lonely, having shower in a strange place.
I like that analogy! You set the event in motion when you pull the trigger.
I agree the challenges are a lot for most people. For me it beats paying rent and being bored and lonely in an apartment!
Thank you for the comment.
