"Wheels break kind of easy". Previous shot of him sending it 50 feet into the air. Love the channel wish you would do the traxxas stampede vxl 2wd . Love to see how you would upgrade it. It might not be the best but it puts the biggest smile on my face.
I watched other review videos of this truck and it breaks in all of them. It's too heavy and too weak so you will be throwing good money after bad I think with this truck. It fell apart in your review before you even really started and then broke two more times which speaks for itself. I'm glad you tell the truth in your reviews compared to some of the others I've watched who seem biased because they don't want to upset their sponsors.
You know something Kev, I just purchased the ZD racing 911 6 V3. and watching you effortlessly Sail through the jumps and control that truck like it was your own arm or something around the skate park with its brother the mt8, is making me so impatient on waiting for it to come in the mail. Your videos are outstanding. Because of them I have just recently purchased three. Thanks again Kev keep up the great videos. Bobby.
Thank you for the Honest review mate... She needs some tinkering and a proper set of wheels before you go hard on her...!! Still very interested in the Pirates3 1/8th buggy from a month ago... Like a Typhon clone.. looked rather promising... Please more on that if you get around to it Kev.
In all the reviews of this truck, the wheels ALWAYS BREAK IN THE SAME SPOT ON THE SAME TYPE OF JUMP
I got the last version that you tested the pirates v3 and it has been a champ I was thinking of getting this next version but now after this video probably gonna go for the dhk maximus

I own two ZD Racing trucks already and have no more issues than with any other truck.

I have both the eachine brand and the zd racing 9106, besides the arms being weak its held up pretty well, other breaks were my fault, side slapping a pole broke the rear hub carrier now i have aluminium, and made some aluminium arms from a set for vrx1043

This was the first rig i bought getting back inti the hobby at 31 years old. That was 4 years ago. I still have it of course. Its 6s, has some really heavy billet wheels, awesome tires, self made chassis stiffeners, the most expensive coilovers i could get, and dude i beat the shit outta the thing. Its held up better than my brothers xmax after i modded it all out. It has all billet arms and stainless hardware, really expensive motor and esc combo, 110kg servo, i could go on and on. What made the biggest difference is getting the proportions closer to realistic. I have the truck sitting about twice as high, with wheels and tires half the size. I have a trophy truck body on it and the wheels actually tuck up in the fenders like they should. Im not a scale guy at all but the ridiculously enormous wheel and tire packaging is kinda dumb to me. Yea you get more control in the air but if ur good enough, thats not necessary. Oh yeah and by the way, this thing on 6s with about 3 times the unsprung weight from the heavy ass wheels i run is just....my goodness its marvelous. Definitely my best all around rig. Hands down.

Skeptic Indian traxxas slash is probably the best car for that

I have had my v2 and it has been amazing. It was a roller chassis so I added 4s electronics and it takes a major beating

I was really hoping that was going to do better! I only paid about $100 more for my associates rival mt8 preorder though….hard sell for me! I dig the way it looks though. Bet it would hold up great for backyard bashing and ripping around.
Hi Kevin. I am getting the RC Cobra for Christmas and I have a few questions. Is the esc water resistant/ proof? Can you buy upgrade parts or spare parts for it? Is it the best cheapish RC car I can buy? Is the JLB cheetah a good car? Thanks to everyone that reads this.

My pirates 2 is still one of the best purchases I've ever made. Bash it on 4s and the thing takes a beating. Only had to change A arm once.
And to mention I have the 120a esc version

I don’t mind a servo not being super fast if it’s strong enough to not strip gears on landings etc
I got one of these and getting the hesitation when you mash the throttle from a dead stop. Running 4S 50C. Thinking maybe the speed controller is not very good. Buy the Pirates 2 9116 V3. It is the same chassis but has the smaller wheels which will not break out the hubs.

I was cruising around on Banggoods site for some review stuff n looked at this one but not sure if id spend the cash on one, I think id break it pretty fast like u did n continue to break stuff n not knowing if theres hop up parts or replacements id just rather not bother

I think I say the fan come off at around 6:14. I thought it was the pinion gear coming off again! BTW, I have the Pirates 2 DIY kit and I'm amazed at how well it's holding up so far. Thanks for sharing this video. Now I know what I should be looking for to break first!!! Lol.
Kev, do you have plan on getting the Hobao Hyper MT 2 Plus? They are almost as big as the Xmaxx.
No they're not they're 1/7 Xmaxx is 1/6 so stop comparing the sizes
@@lilnash7 I know about their scale, that is the reason I said "almost" because of the big size of it(Hyper MT 2 Plus). We know that there are some RC's that is bigger than what their scale are, like the Erevo's which is 1/10 but the size of a 1/8.

Man, I was tempted by the old version of that truck and ended up going 4S Outcast instead... haven't broken anything; slipper was bad, Arrma sent me a new one; had to put in another radio ($30 Dumbo)... killed one 4S Lipo. With the radio, 90 Canadian Pesos more than the Pirates... durability good

I had the exact same issue on my pirate2 where I need to order extra parts to fix it on Bandgood. Wish that you could put up a video on how you fix those issues.

probably the wrong place to ask this but, I'm planning to build a Tamiya konghead style RC from scratch, I want it to be able to go off road but I also want it to be fast, but I don't know what type of differential to use for all 3 sets of wheels, I kind of need to have that figured out before I plan out the motor set up but I don't know what would be the most suitable, any ideas on what I should look at?
Not sure if anyone has tried this yet, spray foam in a can in place of foam strips inside of tire and wheel assembly.

Hey Kevin, loving your channel. Only just recently discovered it as my 4yr old daughter really loves monster trucks and we stumbled on your videos.
I've not had an rc in years, used to have a kyoshi nitro and that big old CEN nitro monster when I was a teen (on my way to 37 now though haha) but your vids might be giving me the bug again.
This MT8 seems interesting as I really can't afford something like an X Maxx or anything Maxx... But considering the MT8 if I know I can get spares.
Do you know where I can get spares, or should I avoid this thing?

Rather look at a well looked after second hand brand name car. Spares is THE biggest issue with buying these chinese cars. They churn out so many models. I would say HPI, HSP ect ect. Spares always available.

At 4:52 you can see the ESC fan fall off after landing just in case you ever wondered where it went lol

Kev can you do a tug of war x maxx vs the zd racing camoflauge?
I ordered this last month and it's just arrived yesterday. But the one I've got seems to have a problem with the drive. Everytime I try go forward to reverse or even from a dead stop it's struggling to go. All it will do is just stutter like it trying to go but something is stopping it til I let go of the controller and then push it again. I've check the car the best I can but can't see anything wrong and was hoping you may know anything. Many thanks
