I'm in that exact same position. I've cleaned the grounds. I've purchased a new battery. For whatever reason the truck will still completely shut down some times. Usually if the air conditioner is on I'm slowing down and turning into a parking lot. It's like with the electronic steering it's drawing too many amps. The truck completely shut down today and if a car was pulling out of the parking lot I would have hit them head on! The only option I know left is to change the whole negative battery cable. Every time this has happened in the past, I have no power until I open up the hood and squeeze the negative cable. It looks fine but obviously it's not! Glad changing it helped you. Hope it does the same for me..

I replaced the negative ground wire and it fixed for about 6 months. Now it's doing it again. This has to be a recall. Going to check the hot battery terminal and the ground by the speaker next. After that I'm getting rid of this thing. I'll keep everyone posted.

i have a 2014 sierra 5.3L and my truck had flickering dash lights while slowing down and turning out on the road. then as i was turning to get in my driveway it just shut down with no power to anything. it was completely dead. after troubleshooting the battery, battery main fuse, checked all fuses, cleaned all grounds from battery to passenger side of engine block and chassis and removed the insulation from the ground under the driver side dash, nothing helped at all. until i wiggled the negative terminal on the battery and then i finally got power and started the truck right up. it happened again later on that day when i was at the dealer getting the new ground cables to replace from the battery to side of engine block and chassis. after replacing the ground cable that problem hasn’t happened again. save your guys time and skip all of that and just replace the ground cables.

For everyone who's having flickering dash lights, , the truck suddenly shutting down when lowering the speed to idle, slipping transmission (sometimes) a voltage reading under 14 volts (9 to 11) nav system and radio suddenly shutting down..., YES, THIS IS THE PROBLEM believe it or not. A bad ground because with time starts to get rusted or dirty and is not properly making the ground as it should be, taking off the screw and cleaning the parts, where it goes connected and the metal that the screw holds fixes everything.

A week ago I removed the front dash panel and check both grounds at each pillar tucked up under windshield. Driver side was good. Passenger side was tight but wires sitting on the rubber matting. Removed the speaker. Loosened the nut to get all the rubber removed that the wire was sitting on. Cut all of it off around the bolt. Tightened back up and drove a week without issue. Today I drove about 28 miles. Shutoff truck. Went to get back in it and it would not unlock from key fob.. so, I assumed all electrical was out.. used key to get in truck. Amp steps did not work. Dude!!!!! I wish I would have seen this video first lol , I changed my spark plugs , wires , coils , injectors , tps, accelerator pedal and sensor and ground wires , but my truck was still running rough at idle and in drive and no acceleration from dead stop , come to find out my battery is at 8 volts , come to find out my ecu didn’t have the correct voltage to operate the ecu and throttle position, and that’s why I was getting tps codes and stabilitrak codes and I was overheating at idle , just really weird symptoms and this is the biggest but of my life !!!! But !! But I just got the battery 2 months ago and my truck starts just fine, without the correct voltage it made my truck run like shit , I thought my ecu was bad and all kinds of stuff, I assumed because I just got the battery, didn’t even cross my mind to test it😆😆😆never again will I assume!!!?truck started easily , it just wouldn’t show more than 8.93 volts at the post 😂😊
Bro I need help I figured out the stabilitrack thing but I have also the instrument cluster problem where it’s in park but the orange light won’t glow over it and I put it in reverse and it glows I put in neutral and it stops glowing and drive also and then on M1 gears it works but idk what’s causing it.. it comes and goes mostly when I off road
My car wont start battery is showing 12.7-12.8 volts on my tuner batterybis less than 2 months old negative terminal was loose but i tightened it back up would this help my problem as well??
Should change the clickbait title to how you fixed your GMC Sierra lol. Anyways, I've cleaned up my grounds in my dash, cleaned up all of the connections underneath the truck (mine is a 2014) and got a new battery. At this point the only thing I haven't changed is the harness itself which is in short supply. Issue is still happening 🤷
I've got a 14 and done all those same things and still having a problem. Did you ever just completely change the negative battery cable? If you did did that fix your problem? Appreciate the feedback..
@@garciagarage7735 thanks for quick response! Testing now and if it doesn't work I've seen videos about broken/knicked wires in the front driver door harness that are another possible solution.

Oh man. This video he made it for me. FYI thank you again. I got "stailback" while driving and loosing power. Brights went out, other things stopped working. I cleaned the ground wire after this video. It did not solve anything for me. My truck died a week ago. It was towed this morning to drlaethsip , and be there a few days. A lot of my fuses are messed up, ground wires, alternator, pretty much all electrical. I will get a list either tomorrow or in the next 2 or 3 days. I'll comment when I get my full report. I know that 14-18 have this issue with ground wires. Like this guy here says. He or 100% spot on. I literally made a list this meaning of 8 things wrong with it electrically and handed it to chevy dealership. I will check all 8 things in front of them when they say truck is done.
Bro it happend to me same thing but my rear lights stay on and drain my battery it happend like every 3 months and sometimes stay like thar real lights on alll the time do you think it will be the same thing?
Oh yeah. I got a call today. They keeping it till Monday. However here is all thats wrong. Battery fuse box was causing my electrical issues, except the "stailback" that was the ground wire under the dash. My thermometer was out, and my radiator leaking. They keeping it in the shop till Tuesday. Battery fuse box actually messed my battery. I was getting somehow to much power into my battery. Did not effect my stereo system on a negative way just cut my base out. I got 2 12s under back seats. Thay fuse box hard shorts all over it. So made all electronics mess up and ruin battery on top of the other stuff.
Its all good i had to replace my radiator but back lights still on and drain my battery i will try to clean de ground cables i hope that fix everything

So you clean it up and then it's gets gunk or whatever on it then what? Can you spray with undercoating ?
Damm good video bro
Bro I need help I figured out the stabilitrack thing but I have also the instrument cluster problem where it’s in park but the orange light won’t glow over it and I put it in reverse and it glows I put in neutral and it stops glowing and drive also and then on M1 gears it works but idk what’s causing it.. it comes and goes mostly when I off road
My car wont start battery is showing 12.7-12.8 volts on my tuner batterybis less than 2 months old negative terminal was loose but i tightened it back up would this help my problem as well??
What kinda car u drive same truck as mine r na
Should change the clickbait title to how you fixed your GMC Sierra lol.
Anyways, I've cleaned up my grounds in my dash, cleaned up all of the connections underneath the truck (mine is a 2014) and got a new battery. At this point the only thing I haven't changed is the harness itself which is in short supply.
Issue is still happening 🤷
I've got a 14 and done all those same things and still having a problem. Did you ever just completely change the negative battery cable? If you did did that fix your problem? Appreciate the feedback..
I got a 2018 gmc Sierra and the 4wd light switch lights isn’t coming on please help
After you cleaned the ground by passenger tire, did you use dielectric grease when reinstalling? Thanks.
I didn't Iv never liked that stuff but I’m sure it wouldn’t hurt if u did
@@garciagarage7735 thanks for quick response! Testing now and if it doesn't work I've seen videos about broken/knicked wires in the front driver door harness that are another possible solution.
If u go back to my UA-cam I have a older video on my old truck it will show u what was going on with it radio ac would cutt of while driving turning really it was strange but I did get a lil clip of it
Did you have to unhook the battery
U should yes
No , it’s a ground..
Wondering if this will help my problem, I have a 2015 Silverado 5.3, truck kicks into engine power reduced mode and stabiltrak lights comes on and puts the truck in limp mode won’t go over 50. Going to try this this weekend.
What was your fix
@@jennakay9 not shit yet
Appreciate it boss!
What were the symptoms of this grounding issue? I think mine has this issue but my dash cluster is freaking out and losing power intermittently and showing every error possible
Check out my first video on my page shows a little video of what was going on
@@phoenixghost1099 how was everything bro any update ?
@@ericsalcido8847 oh I replied to your other comment lol. Sorry man I ment to reply to this one lol
@@phoenixghost1099 what was the verdict boss? What the dealership say?
Shit idk if it’s gonna fix mine but about to give it a shot lol.
Any videos on how to replace the cable ?
I don’t got one but I can for sure take a look n make one
Thank you brother work out for me
Yeah its going to be the same on chevy because chevy gmc are same same
Bro it happend to me same thing but my rear lights stay on and drain my battery it happend like every 3 months and sometimes stay like thar real lights on alll the time do you think it will be the same thing?
Finally a real MF.. Thanks dog
