Sam Spiegelman, Rivals.com, joins AFR. The guys are diving into the big news surrounding Bryce Underwood's surprise commitment flip from LSU to Michigan. What does this mean for both programs, and more importantly, what happens next for LSU without Underwood? Could other players from LSU's class follow in his footsteps? We explore the impact of Underwood's decision and look ahead to the possible fallout from this major recruiting shakeup. Don't miss out on the latest news and analysis on this high-stakes flip!
LSU just needs to get all the Louisiana kids! Build a good team with the money we have ! One player don’t define the program! Get better linemen on both sides the ball that’s what wins championships!
Louisiana alone won’t do it on a national level as we may lack certain positions year in year out. You have to win lousiana but you have to win out of state if you want to be a national contender and powerhouse.
@@champion-q1i7b yea definitely need certain positions from out of state but locked down Louisiana!
If you have no QB you have no offense, and if you have no QB you're not gonna get any of the top skill position players to come. It's why in this segment they touch on how many other recruits are gonna flip, because Nuss ain't gettting anyone to say oh yeah i really wanna play with that guy sorry.
That’s not good enough anymore.
@ you need top lineman in the trenches to win on both sides the ball ask nick saban you don’t need a 5 star qb!
The first time he heard the term "of color" in Baton Rouge is when he decommitted from LSU.
Omg 😂
you mean it wasnt the 10.5m vs 1.5m? i dont blame him for leaving, LSU NIL is dogwater garbage.
Was like 6 vs 12
This story is getting too much traction, LSU has Colin who was top in the 25 class. Plus wtf does race has to do with anything?
Make a LSU is burning video. And I'm a LSU fan
Michigan is the least of your worries now, Bama and Miami are licking their chops at that class
And Michigan's doing the same even more now.
Michigan alumn have way more money then those couple of hillbillies down south dude😂 Miami Florida is another story
@@Carlogambino12381 Exactly specially when they have one of the best Law Schools, and Medical Schools. There's a lot of rich Doctors and Lawyers coming from Michigan Alumni. Including a lot of rich business men coming from there business school.
@@MarkyMark1221 the oil company’s got more money than any lawyer are doctor and whoever y’all got clown! Keep dreaming!
Moore could've been pink or green, Underwood was always going to take the money and stay home... color has no bearing
It don't mean he staying either.. suck up 3 to 4 mil for one year then transfer
CFB is now pro football plain and simple .
CFB is dying $$$$ kills everything how do you coach kids getting paid more than you ( will you please catch the ball?)😮
@@bcracing204 I am shocked no one talks about what has really changed. Remember when 11-12 games would get you a Natty? Now where are we at 17? or even if not in final, 15? So if you are a 3 year player or 4 year (some guys are 5 now) What happens? You've played an entire years worth of games (5 extra games X 3-4 years) That is A LOT of wear and tear for, say RB's, LB's... really anyone... for ZERO extra pay? (at least without NIL)
@@bcracing204 In ten years time CFB will be more like Arena Football or USFLXFL . As far as interest from fans go . Yes it will still have interest in certain markets but overall will be irrelevant
@@CDcooper3876 I hope not
Any good Coach should know, not to put all your eggs in one basket ,when it comes to recruting .BK should had have two QBs committed in case of a flip and if they didn't flip than your only problem is competition to see who wins the starting job.
As a Michigan fan I hope LSU well but we really need to keep our kids home
I get it. Down in Louisiana we feel the same way. Can't blame Underwood for staying home and taking the cash. What hurts was his 300-day commitment, and then a "flip." Life. LSU will recover.
Yessir we have talent around this state obviously
i saw on youtube 1 or 2 weeks ago. 1 youtuber said Underwood going Michigan. He will he be shock if Underwood dont end up at Michigan.i dont know why this guys said he going LSU as of last week. I’m ND fan.
I had 3 sources close to the family/Belleville staff. By Halloween, none of them gave me less than a 50% chance he was going to Michigan. Not sure how LSU insiders thought they were so plugged in thousands of miles away.
Wow, did this dude bring up the “Coach of Color” bull?
Unfortunately that's the way it is nowadays.
Un FN real. I think Brian Kelly showed his true 'colour' yelling at that kid on the sideline, with his record, with his fake accent in his first press conference... Sherrone Moore showed his true 'colour' with that expletive filled, crying post game on field interview when they beat OSU, and shows it EVERY DAY with the players. BOTH get around, as in BK's rep for being a fraud and Moore's for being a genuine person and coach. Colour is beyond irrelevant.
Yes. Yes he did! I'm pretty sure that BK has played his white privilege card enough in his lifetime!
@@deannonya6596 What do you mean 'that's the way it is these days' that is about as dumb a comment as dude bringing it up on the first place.
BK is the biggest fraud in football. There's a reason why ND fans were happy to see him go. Now he's your problem.
Hopefully all the good ones thank you Bryce for staying home can't wait to watch you ball out for Michigan
I’m a Michigan fan, and I definitely understand the frustration. We’ve been on the wrong side of this one too many times especially with Harbaugh here and all the back and forth with the NFL.
Didn't help that Harbaugh was stuck in 1995.
He did take visits to michigan on the down low😊
Was only reported by Michigan insiders by 24/7. Rivals and On3 really shat on those scoops as well. Not a good look for them.
Yes, throughout his entire childhood, and life, since he lived 30 min away.
Hey Barb, no one cares
@@randombutrelevantI work in Ann Arbor he’s actually like 13 min from Ann Arbor literally lol
Yes its a bummer. LSU will be fine, this will blow over and people will get over it. We will be ok
Geaux Tigers 🐅
You'll surely be 'ok' with Brian Kelly, but you'll never be a winner, same thing will happen next year, even if you flip some other 4-5 star QB, BK will still lose to teams you shouldn't and also never beat the teams you need to to be a legit contender.
LSU IS BURNING 🔥🔥🔥
No, college football is being destroyed by greed. Next year the top HS QB will want 15 million and it’s only the beginning of the end of college football
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Viewpoint:
Keep an eye on USC for Jahkeem Stewart. Per the 11/20/24 Locked on USC podcast, that program made their most lucrative NIL offer (ever) for the phenom DL. Could include internships at Marvel Studios and Fox Sports, as well.
Coach and young man of "colour?"
Distance , yes.
Money, yes.
Family and friends, yes.
Familiarity, yes.
Colour? Ok, that seemed unnecessary in making your point.
Okay bro you commented this shit more then 3 times get over it
It was unnecessary
@@kaleb1858 This is my only comment, what are you talking about 3 times?
Ok bringing up race, I'm out
LSU is burning 🔥
I remember a while back when all your videos was saying "bama is burning" it's getting pretty hot down here huh? 😢
You must not remember all the times he said, “I don’t care what happens with LSU. I know what they are. But Alabama ain’t going back to Saban’s days.” Both are true, but y’all only listen to part of the message.
I don't want to hear about Bama burning. We are sinking! Who cares about Bama burning when we are wondering if we'll lose to Vanderbilt tonight.
And if that happens, expect an emptying of the room
@FrankCastleDied I'm a diehard lsu fan. Idk what you trying to say BUT I will not be shocked if alabama wins it all this year they clearly aren't burning! We on the other hand have gas pour all over us. And if we lose to vandy the lighter will FLICK
@FrankCastleDied bama is not burning at ALL
If you want the answer to why we suck this year look at the transfer class. We were second to last in the sec on transfers and in the 40s overall. Go look at the top transfer classes and and you will find the teams competing for the playoffs. This years team felt like a step down than the last 2. Last 2 years we had top transfer classes
Dude do we have any film on Stewart. Hell nobody does but anywho these colleges have some deep pockets LSU not so much looks like
If that was to happen and they flip a number of the recruits you gotta look at moving on and switching the culture at that point it
If they value money over school, let them go. Loyalty is way more valuable than talent.
All of this recruiting noise does not matter. What matters is who is on the field at the start of a season.
We need trenches man. Bryce would have been great but who’s gonna protect him and who’s going to get opposing QBs? We have no defensive lineman who could deal with a Proctor from Bama at 370 pounds. Or just a physical line in general. Everything we do is finesse and not physical. Training program has to be evaluated.
Facts, We need to take that money and invest in DL and OL.
You have no QB you have no offense, you have two 1st round draft picks at Tackle on the current team and the Offense looks awful because of the QB play. The defense isn't nearly as bad as last year but what is substantially worse......the QB. The 3 losses all Nuss did was turn the ballover with INTs or fumbles and the last game he was missing open throws downfield.
LSU needs to offer Carter Smith he is 2025 #3 dual threat QB on the market and his weekend of Nov 30th just opened up went to the LSU camp Summer 2023 kid wants that offer.
Just saying the LSU sites have been off the whole time about the recruitment, numbers have been wrong and him not visiting has been wrong
Been getting our ass kicked since the second half of A&M. Feels like I’ll be saying that for years to come now.
You can thank Tom Brady for the Bryce Underwood flip he’s the cause 😮
Wait…was he actually trolling about not taking a visit or seeing the coach and using that for a reason why he wouldn’t go there? Dude….Bryce
He was ALWAYS going to Mich. He played LSU to get UM to up its ante.
He basically went around the question without really answering the question.
I am thinking 'how many players can Michigan afford with Underwood on the payroll?'
A lot. If you think the University of Michigan is going to run out of money, people are going to be VERY disappointed.
@@rokellc I won't be dissappointed. Buy as many players as you can.
You guys still hanging on to the “he hadn’t even been to Ann Arbor!” Thing huh? 😂
LSU has made some questionable decisions over the past few years. IMO get your lines from in state,Texas,Arkansas and Mississippi . Get your speed from Florida. Go after exceptional talent from all over. The portal has thrown the NCAA in a tailspin plus the NIL. The landscape and the culture has changed. It’s interesting to say the least. Wish Bryce the best but if he’s looking to bang heads and go after the best to be the best….. there’s no question the SEC is the conference. But I get it. Being the best in a conference that don’t have a best gets you noticed. Get your shine on Bryce.
What’s the point of recruiting a 2026 QB now when they have so much time to flip.
Did he say color that’s crazy
I would hope that these Louisiana kids have a little more pride than that
Enough of Underwood LSU do not need him to be a winner.
I would have left too using a 1950 word color.Probaly alot of that down there
Bryce has a lot of family in Detroit area.
I never felt we were getting stewart.. I think we got a chance but when he talk i dont feel the love for Lsu
GOO BLUE!!!!!
26-20
3:09 “not to long ago” as in the reigning national champions? Ha.
Portnoy opened the pocket book for Michigan. If LSU's rich alumni are gonna keep the pocket book closed they can't be out here crying on ESPN about the state that LSU football is in when the recruits flip.
It wasn't the Prez. It was Larry Ellison. Dave is helping donate for the portal. 😊
Two Words other than NIL package: Tom Brady
I don't care for Stewart so much. Pickett we need to keep. Stewart hasn't played since his sophmore year. That is ridiculous. Do what South Carolina did and hit that portal for inpact people in the trenches. Build from the trenches out
Jakeem is gonna leave the state. It's just my gut feeling, but I think he ends up at OSU or Oregon.
Talking about bama look like lsu gonna be getting 3stars 😂😂😂😭😭😭
Go Blue!
The NCAA has to do something about this NIL crap....
🤣🤣
He should have went to the sec man ..!!!
I don’t blame the kid. Tighten up boosters.
Mr. Moscona! Give it a rest and screw Underwod! Move on!
Of color???
Way to make a fool of yourself Sam. Race has nothing to do with BK being a horrible person and coach Moore being real af.
Shit if everyone is getting offered 2.5 mil per player or anything close...EVERYONE is on notice.
Are you kidding Bryce was flipped because Sheronne Moore is a coach of color"
" Of color"?? Is he from 1950?? Wow
Dude wasn't coming and played the game perfectly as stories are coming out about a few visits to Michigan kept secret! Add these last 3 debacles, and LSU fans unforgivable impatient behavior and I would take the 12mill and stay home too!
I don't think he played anything perfectly. He was coming to LSU. Set in stone. No interest in Michigan at all. Thanks but no thanks As a Detroit native, he knows all about Michigan since birth and yet has no interest for whatever his own reasons are. He wants to play in the SEC. And then Michigan said, what if we offer you X amoumt of dollars? Nope. How about XX amount of dollars? Nope. What if we up it to XX and X amount of dollars? Okay, I'll go to Michigan. And that's what happened. Nobody played anybody.
I gotta say nice dig at LSU fans and their 'unforgivable impatient behavior'. That made me laugh, even though you weren't really kidding.
Not that it matters but I would keep those stories on the dl as I'm pretty sure that's an NCAA recruiting violation and can cost a school scholarships and put on probation period if true. Could be wrong. Either way whether it happened or not I wouldn't care and wouldn't want Michigan in trouble because of it
@@crammons7330 I don't think you have anything to worry about from the NCAA. And one final note, if anyone got played it was Michigan. They're the one that ended up paying 12 million. LSU simply lost his commitment, and are paying nothing. And Michigan did get it, having to overpay to do it. Because they the ones that got played, if either program did, by their new starting QB.
Money talks and bullshit walks. All all that love he was giving LSU was bullshit!
1.5 vs 10mil dont blame him.......LSU DROPPED THE BALL...U BETTER GET WITH THE PROGRAM OR GET LEFT BY THE BOT DOGS
LSU is a second rate program anyways.
That qb is ass
Kelly is more of a high school coach than a college coach.
The defensive players are terrible.
Michigan has billionaire boosters and an alumni base with ungodly money. They will dominate NIL now that they’re all in
I’m sorry but the guest on the show obviously hates lsu
Coach of color huh
〽〽〽
Don't care. LSU has to get their shit together. Underwood was all about the money. Who was going to be the highest bidder for him. His parents even said it. If the price is right. That's where he's going. I think if LSU would've won against Alabama and A&M. Underwood probably would've stayed. Seeing that he has a cast around him.
He didn't want just a ton of money. He was going to commit to Michigan. He was just seeing how much money he could get before he flipped. I wonder why he flipped like 14 days before signing day
@@detriotyou are delusional, bro signed contracts with moving companies
@@detriot because he wanted a ton of money... lmao
@detriot he should have jumped for $20 million. That number could have kept going up. He did it too soon
Coach of Color? Kid of Color? What is this the 1960’s?
Coping corndogs
WTF? This Spiegelman guy says Michigan having a black coach had to play a part in Bryce committing to Michigan. Racist as hell. Don't bring this guy back on the show.
NIL
So now the richest schools get the top Recruits , eventually that the only schools who will win championships, i hope these fans will reject this new pathetic college football format
Bryce= 💰💰💰💰🎪🤡 get over it!
If I was a top recruit, I would head to Michigan with Bryce. LSU's class is falling apart.
It actually hasn't moved its position in team recruiting rankings. It turns out he isn't the only good player on this list of recruits. So, that is hyperbolic, but if other players leave, that could certainly become a reality.
As of now this a stupid comment.
Bryce took the bag. It's over now. Please move on. Nuss is a first year starter with one year of eligibility remaining. Nuss should be priority one. Take the money that was set aside for Bryce and use it to ensure you lock up the remaining 5 star recruits you have committed. Build that defense and LSU could be a favorite to win the SEC "if" Nuss returns. Now is the time to start prepping Colin Hurley.
A lot of football sense spoken. What they should learn is stay close to your backyard in this era of college football. Especially if you’re not willing or unable to counter and spend like the big boys.
@ Exactly! Hope is not lost.
