Got my URGI when they first dropped. Pretty sure they had DD barrels in them with colt BCGs. Any how, mine has about 20,000 rounds on it. No issues. I got almost the same setup. I got the Super Duty 14.5, with the exact optic setup and mounts. I think the only difference between the URGI, and the Super Duty are the barrel profiles. The URGI is government profile, and the Super Duty barrel is a heavier profile that tapers.
Super duty depending on model has a different rail insert for the qd, which my current understanding is will be updated onto the urgi as an inline change in progress, there are also nsn code markings on the rail
@TacticalConsiderations mine has some sort of copperish looking QD slot. I love it none the less. I don't think you can go wrong with either. If ever possible, a Super duty comparison would be awesome.
I’m thinking of building a super duty but making it look like the URGI. I don’t think I’d be losing capability if I don’t use the gov profile barrel and my rail doesn’t have serial numbers. I don’t want to use the 4 prong flash hider either.

One pistol range, one medium distance range, and another with steel out to 700yds. Free to go...open from late summer to spring due to outdoor fire danger during the summer.
Not a fan of the unity flip to center mount. I would prefer a QD magnifier mount that lets me stow my magnifier or use it for glassing. Ideally, I'd grab that new Spuhr mount that does everything I want in a compact package.
Agreed. First thing I thought while watching this video.. total sales pitch Edit: Having said that, I think his earlier videos have good unbiased information in them. This one just seemed a little over the top.
I disagree, Mikes input seems to be legitimate and if it's crap he'll tell you it is, I have made some purchases based upon Mikes reviews as I don't have anybody else to give me input on equipment but YT personalities, some are legit brand whores, others go by what they use. Personally Mike has given me advice on weapons I opted to not heed and I learned on my own the why. Seems like a solid dude if he's going to take the time to reply to personal emails. He's earned my trust.
Well if you can not go broke running a channel that costs well over 40k a year to operate without ads do it and I will watch it. No one is forcing you to be here.
yeah except the geissele version isn't what SOCOM actually uses. And it's extremely easy to get the real version lol. I built my own with the right colt upper, the right DD barrel, the right Colt BCG, the right Mk12 gas block, everything.
I never said it was the exact clone. In fact I said its not exact.. You can piece one together but unless you have someone source all the parts you cannot buy the direct version.
@@TacticalConsiderations I sourced all the parts myself and it was extremely easy. I got some off of the gun accessories for sale subreddit, some off GunBroker, and some direct from manufacturer. All it is is a Colt receiver and bcg, DD barrel, Geissele rail and charging handle. All of that stuff is readily available. I even got the correct ‘C’ roll marked Colt upper and bcg And I could have sworn you said this geissele upper was what was issued to SOCOM but I might have commented before you explained what you meant in the video
I'm like on the brink of getting the urgi 11.5 upper from geissele, but am possibly considering a superduty do that antirotaion tab on top, or a noveske chainsaw. When it comes to the geissele ,are we concerned about handguard rotation on the urgi because of no tab like the superduty? I guess that is my biggest concern. And thoughts on noveske chainsaw?;
Scott, you are my favorite Guntuber, I take your advice and considerations seriously, as I tend to have opinions similar to yours, I’ve noticed we like a lot of the same pistols. That being said, I would LOVE to see what you think about the new LFA (Live Free Armory) Falcon 9x & 9xc. Seems be a PSA Dagger priced - pistol with similar Shadow Systems features. The XC is an integrally compensated slide. Very interested, but, want to know how reliable they are
@@BunyipDude That is true. I own a BCM RECCE 14 and it is a great gun but the Geissele upper you do get more options, like the CHF barrel that is a big upgrade imo.

Lol u edited the sound out and tricked me. I was thinking how the heck is it that quiet with that small of a supressor... then u said warden.... I just got the rc2 for mine today. I kinda still wanna get a warden just for any time I don't have it on there
Geissele is definitely top notch gear! Personally I would rather have the Super Duty Mod 1 upper. I think the Geissele profile barrel is superior to the Gov profile. While many upper end rifles have the gov profile they fail under full auto melt downs faster than other profiles. Thin barrel that gets thicker out at the end is just backwards lol. Although I would not ever run full auto as I don't have that capability and probably never will! So the Gov profile would work just fine for me. I do own a Rifle from another brand that has gov profile so ---- LOL However The Super Duty Mod 1 is basically the same set up but with the Geissele profile barrel and a Huxworks muzzle device which I would prefer! looking to get a Geissele sometime this year! never seem to be in stock any where lol! Simply put really can't go wrong with Geissele! cool video with a sweet set up!!!
@@TacticalConsiderations oh I know that is what is supposed to fail but in a couple different Gov profile barrels by 2 different high end brands the barrel catastrophically failed when doing full auto melt downs at not that high of round count. Or at least not as high as they were thiking it would go in comparison to less expensive guns without gov profile barrels
Full auto meltdowns are not an accurate representation of usage failure points. Imagine redlining a tacoma till it popped and then saying a Chrysler was more reliable bc it passed the test longer
This not the updated rail that has the steel qd insert. So if you put a steel sling qd swivel into the aluminum rail it will tear up the rail over time and fail.

Not a fan of the unity flip to center mount. I would prefer a QD magnifier mount that lets me stow my magnifier or use it for glassing. Ideally, I'd grab that new Spuhr mount that does everything I want in a compact package.
I get that but i just wanted it for this rig. They have qd version now and this mount is drilled for it I just need to buy the lever.
Like the new camera guy.
Awesome man.
My thoughts? Your channel has become a GIANT advertising platform. gone are your useful reviews.
Agreed. First thing I thought while watching this video.. total sales pitch
Edit:
Having said that, I think his earlier videos have good unbiased information in them. This one just seemed a little over the top.
No need to be jealous
yup. unsubed.
I even got the correct ‘C’ roll marked Colt upper and bcg
And I could have sworn you said this geissele upper was what was issued to SOCOM but I might have commented before you explained what you meant in the video
I got ya. I too have a cage code version that was pieced together part by part.
I'm like on the brink of getting the urgi 11.5 upper from geissele, but am possibly considering a superduty do that antirotaion tab on top, or a noveske chainsaw. When it comes to the geissele ,are we concerned about handguard rotation on the urgi because of no tab like the superduty? I guess that is my biggest concern. And thoughts on noveske chainsaw?;
No. Either are g2g
Nothing wrong with any of those.
Very interested, but, want to know how reliable they are
I am trying to get in the lfa sfutt. the dagger is really solid for sure.
@@TacticalConsiderations awesome! Can’t wait to see it! Those new Sabre Daggers look so cool hahah
only sad thing is if you live in a restricted state, Geissele won't bother to sell you one. You have to find a specialty shop/FFL to convert for you.
Sick build.
Thanks.
Does it have problems running 55gr .223?
Nope.
Can't go wrong with Geissele. Thats a great price coming in at $1500. Great vid Mike!
Yup they are a gem in performance and price point.
$1500 is about what I paid for my entire BCM carbine (upper and lower, vs. the upper alone).
@@BunyipDude That is true. I own a BCM RECCE 14 and it is a great gun but the Geissele upper you do get more options, like the CHF barrel that is a big upgrade imo.
@@cjrocks1000My BCM upper has a CHF barrel.
@@BunyipDude I don't think mine does. I know the gas block isn't pined either. Don't get me wrong brother, I love my BCM and think they are fantastic riffles.
I just want Geissele to release more 15” MK4 DDC rails. They have been out of stock forever.
I have an 11.5” AR with a MK16 DDC rail. Geissele rails and triggers are top of the line.
Ohhhh Modlight OKW the first thing I zeroed in on 31 seconds in. The rifle's nice too lol
This one just came together nice.
Lol u edited the sound out and tricked me. I was thinking how the heck is it that quiet with that small of a supressor... then u said warden.... I just got the rc2 for mine today. I kinda still wanna get a warden just for any time I don't have it on there
oh yeah in the talking I keep the gunfire down.
@@TacticalConsiderations I was referring to the intro
Would you compare it to the Black out defense quantum DTL
Two very different price points but I am going to do a premium ar vs video soon.
Nice intro Austin!
Its not the barrel that fails 99% of the time its a small part like the tube or block as its meant to fail before the barrel.
@@TacticalConsiderations oh I know that is what is supposed to fail but in a couple different Gov profile barrels by 2 different high end brands the barrel catastrophically failed when doing full auto melt downs at not that high of round count. Or at least not as high as they were thiking it would go in comparison to less expensive guns without gov profile barrels
the Geissel Super Duty held up better than other fire arms. much better!! GoldenWebb has done a few melt downs!
Full auto meltdowns are not an accurate representation of usage failure points.
Imagine redlining a tacoma till it popped and then saying a Chrysler was more reliable bc it passed the test longer
On that you are correct. DD failed one at 800 ish geissele and Radian went longer . They had that viagra
What should i run on the 11.5 i should have grabbed the 14.5
Well the 11.5 is no joke but for me the 14.5 was a happy median incase I wanted to do a recce style set up.
I was curious why u put a mlock qd about half inch away from the one that built in, in the exact same location.. serious question
This not the updated rail that has the steel qd insert. So if you put a steel sling qd swivel into the aluminum rail it will tear up the rail over time and fail.
Your build link to the FTC that is for BattleHawk Armory the bottom one is for the Primary Arms magnifier just as a FYI, i just ordered on and i needed a FTC for a G33 eotech
Crap I will change that over when I searched the part number it brought up that one.
No worries, I should have seen it before i punched the order button lol I had just gotten the EXPS with green reticle from them few weeks ago and forgot when i looked at the unity stuff before ,they didn't seem to carry the omni version and then other night i just blanked but thankfully they contacted me and cancelled that order so now i gotta order the right one lol keep up the awesome work though! what's ur thoughts on the riser and FTC? @@TacticalConsiderations
I dig them both. This is my first go with them but so far so good. they have a qd version now and the current one I have can be updated to he qd for the magnifier so I will try that s well to dump weight if I don' t need it.
Good stuff
Glad you enjoyed
Geissele has these on sale right now for $1015. I ordered one last week from Brownells, not full price but not $1015 either.
Score.
You can get a complete clone from charlies custom clones. Its not assembled by geissele, but potomac armory. It has everything the same including the cage codes
Yup but they haven't had them for a while though right
@@TacticalConsiderations you can go on their site now and it says in stock and lets you sfart the order
Do you think it’s stupid to build a super duty to look like a URGI? Like use the mk16 ddc rail with gieselles black upper receiver and taper barrel?
Not stupid at all
Not at all.
So stupid question??? How do you get all these rifles sent to you? Do you buy them? Also do you sell them when your done testing them?
Buy many of them, borrow some and some are sent in. This I paid for.
@@TacticalConsiderationshonestly was it worth it?? I’m stuck between that or the DD m4a1 ris111.
Hi Austin! You did great!
Hey, thanks!
New camera guy is awesome. Great job
He killed it on this.
@@TacticalConsiderations hundo-p
What kinda chest rig and belt are you running? I want
Hsgi
That looks so cool 😎
Its a great rifle.
Do Rangers, who have been around a while, miss the old Block 2 from your experience? I actually like the thicker hand rails of the Ris ll. I value Ranger opinions more than anyone.
We’re you taking shots at a grand with a scope or the eo tech and magnifier
Scope.... I have a video up on it. I used the vortex I talked about in the video. I'd be a mess trying that with a magnifier lol.
What's the difference between this and Super Duty?
rail, charging handle, I think the bolt extractor coating, mostly the nsn parts.
I have a soft spot for those Geissele rails ❤
You and me both!
Pretty dam sexy rig!!! Geissele barrels are tac drivers for sure!!!
They sure are.
Beast of an upper. Heavy AF lol but bomb proof
Its hands down one of my favs for sure.
What rifle do you use for duty?
My old mk18 has been my work rig for years but I will build a new urgi to replace it.
Really debating buying this.
I really like it.
I know this is kinda late, but a comparison between the super duty and the cobalt kinetics would be nice
Yes that is a great idea.
