RIP Ralph Eggleston (October 18, 1965 - August 28, 2022), aged 56
You will be remembered as a legend.
Wait? Ralph Eggleston Died?
He Died of Battling of Cancer
I’ve just seen all of For The Birds’ contenders.
Fifty Percent Grey has obvious CGI limitations, like a student project
Give Up Yer Aul Sins cuts to each new angle and location instead of moving to them
Strange Invaders’ story feels too familiar
and Stubble Trouble, like the others, feels more modern than classic.
For The Birds has no obvious CGI limitations, it has a reason to have no moving camera: it’s set in 1 location and it feels like a classic. It deserved to win.
Rest In Peace Ralph Eggleston ☮️
0:37 Hugh Jackman had the honor of saying... "And the Oscar goes to... For the Birds! Ralph Eggleston!"
