Jimmy also has a major network gig that frowns on that type of honesty. Also, there are non-disclosure agreements in place at that level... that were most likely not signed by Jim Jefferies. The network audience does not even know how to react to that level of honesty... so many long silent gaps followed by bursts of actual laughter. That is a great clip of Jim Jefferies blowing the doors off traditional television IMO.

@@kevwatt185 A lot of non-Americans seem to *think* a generic American accent is easy to do, but if you’re born in America it’s pretty easy to spot when someone’s putting the accent on. They always overemphasize the rhotic Rs (even in the middle of words), they screw up on the “a” sounds a lot, and there’s always something off about their intonation. They end up sounding like a Swedish person that’s lived in Canada for the last 10 years as opposed to an American. There’s the occasional Hugh Laurie or Daniel Day Lewis (or I guess Jim Jefferies) who can really nail it, but in a lot of cases the actors miss the mark.

Jeffery is so underrated. He constantly tours, if you see his late show he goes over time by an hour, he is always consistently hilarious- I’ve never seen him bomb. He works so hard and gives so much extra to his fans, and is SO gifted at writing and performing his comedy yet he is always overlooked by the bigger names. He SHOULD be in the ranks of burr, chapelle etc and I don’t understand why he isn’t. He is in my head.
I got backstage at a GN'R reunion show in 2016. It was one of the best nights of my life. Axl signed the back of my driver's license and I have it in a frame now.

That's interesting. Unless Jim was covering for him by saying it was a Stanley Cup Winner, Kessel wasn't with the LA Kings in 2014; never has been. Kings won the Cup in 2014. The show in question was in June that year. Unless it was a deliberate diversion, I can think of at least two names that would be more likely.

For it being "completely overblown," how often Axl didn't show up on time for gigs, I sat around at the Oakland Coliseum for at least an hour until fans started tearing up the field waiting for Axl Rose to show up - at some point between 1989-1993. I think it was Day on the Green but it might have been Monsters of Rock. We just missed Metallica's set.
That might be one of the greatest stories ever told on late night and it was wasted on Fallon. He seemed totally unprepared, but he couldn't have been. He knew the photo was there which means he already knew the story.

I can't speak to how Axl is today, but I saw GNR twice back in the day and they came on over 3 hours late both times. It sucked. I was a teenager and didn't get to see the entirety of either concert because I had to go to school.
