Guy seemed very reasonable about the truck and it was classy how you treated him. Sucks that his ex wife was trying to screw him the way she was. I'm hoping it all worked out in the end where he got the truck and she got taken to the cleaners
Absolutely, David! Not saying that ALL women are like that, but I'm in my 50s and still single. Still, my last girlfriend stabbed me in t/ back. Never again!
its very easy to disable that seatbelt dinger.. Before starting: - ignition is OFF - truck is in Park (P) - the parking brake is ON - both front seat belts are unbuckled Follow these steps: 1 - turn the key, but not all the way to start the engine 2 - wait about 1 minute until seat belt warning light goes off. Once off, wait 5 more seconds before starting step 3 You must complete steps 3 - 4 within 30 seconds. 3 - buckle and unbuckle the belt 3 times. End in unbuckled position. The warning light will turn on. 4 - With the light on, buckle then unbuckle again. The light will flash for confirmation. Do it all again to turn the chime back on.
I'm sure that loan was for the ex-wife. But after she got what she wanted, she dumped him and the loan. Cuz she thinks her pussy is payment enough. WRONG!!!

How can she use this truck as collateral when he's financing it, making his car payments? You don't usually get the title until after you pay the truck off. I'm confused....
@@irgski doesn't really matter. If the property was acquired during the marriage, it is generally considered property of the marriage and the name on the title is merely semantics. Of course that varies slightly by state.
Buying a used one is risky, always ask if they've pushed it to its limits. If they say "No", they're lying. I see them all the time being abused by kids and grown kids. Hopefully this helps you if you ever do buy one.
Unless you plan on driving a lot during the day, don't buy a diesel. Diesel engines were built to be starting in the morning and ran all day, not started up driven away to the store, shut off, then started up driven back home. So many people though do that today and often have trouble. Unless you plan on driving a lot at one time during the day, hauling, or towing, avoid buying a diesel pickup. They're great trucks don't get me wrong, but they aren't for the drive around town, mall crawling, grocery getting people. They're built to work LOL. I too would love a 3/4 or 1 ton Dodge Ram Diesel 4x4 with a manual transmission of course, but I don't do enough driving to warrant the cost of a diesel pickup, nor the extra maintenance costs associated. Not to mention the higher fuel prices.
William Todd well in all honestly I do a lot of driving well at least I consider it a lot. Averaging at least 80-120 miles a day in my 94 ram single cab
Alexander Chavez If its not all constant short trips you would be ok, otherwise if those miles are just short trips throughout the day the Diesel wouldn't be good for you.
Willie Johnson It could have been under both names prior to the divorce, but if the judge let him keep the truck after the divorce rather than make him give the ex wife everything, then yes, her name should have been scrubbed from the title.

Really enjoy your vids. Makes me want to give it a try. One point, 7.3 Powerstroke (International(Navistar) T444E) was an excellent engine in its time. Just a humble opinion.. Keep up the good work. Love your ethics.
Two things Matt FYI. First, just so you know in the future, the power steering pump also runs the power brake booster on these trucks. They have "hydroboost" brakes, so if you lose power steering fluid, you will also lose power assist for the brakes. Second, you can turn off the seatbelt dinger. It explains how to do it in the owners manual, or you can just google it.
Matt, I bet you felt SOOO justified in your previous words right when he called you to ask about hardwired GPS units... You couldn't have planned that if you tried, but it sure makes AWESOME video. That was so cool. Keep up the good work both on youtube and in real life. I hope Shanda is still doing as good as she was in the last video. (however delayed that was)
You really have mastered interacting with the public. You took that guys truck, then when you get it back to his house he is trying to do everything he can to help you out with the PS fluid. Great Job! When people remain calm and respectful toward each other the situation is more likely to work itself out.
You could put another strong magnet on the inside of the vehicle to hold the light to the nonmetal roof. Sandwich the roof between the magnets. Opposites attract.
This guy would be one of the best people to work with in this world. I know it might sound weird but these videos teach me how to deal with people better.
God that' looks like a beautiful area to live in! The older I get further I'd prefer to be from big towns and the city! I really feel for that guy, and Matt, as usual, tried to be as sympathetic to him as humanly possible.
Good point about the window mounts for the brake lights...with the new All Aluminum F150s and other brands not building steel bodies anymore... that window mount system may get a lot of use in the next few years!
hey RepoNut Matt theres a neat trick on these that will get rid of that stupid seat belt dinger, next time before you park it turn off all of the accessories like the wipers lights radio and everything then turn the truck completely off and make sure your seat belt is unbuckled, give it a minute or so then turn it back on without starting the engine, the idiot lights will all turn on and turn back off like normal but seat belt light will stay on, wait on it for about a minute and a half then the light will turn off then smoothly but fairly quickly buckle the seat belt and take it back off over and over again [I think it takes 7 times on and off if i remember correctly and you have 20 seconds to do it, you dont have to let it retract just buckle and unbuckle] until the seat belt light on the dash flashes a couple times then turns back off again then the stupid dinger will be gone and if you want it back for whatever reason just repeat the process, its worked on all of our Ford work trucks with the annoying dinger except mine which has a radio that is stuck in the on position [I accidentally let an electric motor slam into it and it broke the power/volume knob so its stuck on lol] I always wear mine on the road and its saved my life before I'd hate to imagine an airbag slamming someone not wearing it but that annoying chime drove me nuts starting the truck and warming it up or driving around the shop parking lot or the farm ding! ding! ding! ding! ding! good luck with it and it may take more then one try our 2010 f350 took twice I think because I was buckling and unbuckling it too fast, I love watching your videos very interesting seeing how repoing works, its like a reality TV show that's not full of stupid dramatic music and made up bullshit lol, thanks for taking the trouble to upload these!
I haven't commented in a long time Matt, but I did want to say that I'm really impressed by your level of professionalism and your general thought process. I learn quite a bit from you, I'm not in the repo business but your wisdom and insight on life has provided a kind of mentorship that is invaluable. I'm sure that i'm not the only one. Thanks, Matt.
I hope for added safety and security you add some sort of lanyard to both of your future windshield vacuum auxiliary tail light mounts. Perhaps secure them around the wiper arms? Thanks for the new uploads too!
1962pjb Already added it to the redesign mod list for the current wireless tow lights as well as the suction cup adapters. Keeps them from getting stolen and from falling off on the road.
Wait, will they not even tell him how much she owes? That doesn't make any sense at all. In order for it to be cross-collateral, they would have to both be on the account, wouldn't they? It sounds like the bank views it that she is on a completely separate account, one they will not even talk to him about, but view his truck as her collateral because once upon a time they had a joint account? That can't be legal. Either the things are linked, or they're not. They can't be linked enough that they can repossess a truck, but unlinked enough that he can't even find out what he CAN pay to get it back!
I know about the power steering going out. Mine went out a few months ago. Took about 2 weeks before I had time to get it fixed. You really learn how strong your arms are when you dont have power steering. Its a work out. Mine ended up being the sensor on the pump blew up and caused the fluid to leak out. Worked until I stopped then it all just dumped out.
Also... Just FYI. Navistar (International Harvester ) built ALL of Fords diesels. The 7.3 was a great engine. The next 2 engines were crap... And Ford decided to build there own after that, and the transmission too.
Easiest way to attach them in the event it ever happenes, try to make a small metal plate the exact size of the magnet plate on the light and the other end will attach to the suction cup of the go pro. should be easier than making a plat form for the lights :) btw love your videos!!! :)
That is a good idea for the windshield mount for the lights. It is not just useful for fiberglass body cars or convertibles, but also for aluminum body cars. Ford is moving toward aluminum. The new F150 is all aluminum. In fact I left a comment in a video a while back when you picked up and F150 and the lights would not stick to the hood (because it was aluminum) asking how you would handle that situation.
+Dhrumil Shah (Personal) Lol, I was in a truck first then switched to a new Civic w/ Turbo. After driving the truck again for a few minutes after I've had a lot of time in the Civic, I don't miss that truck one bit.
Also I wish I'd seen this when it first came out, cuz there's a way to disable the seat belt chime 😅 on or off, it'll never ding. Light comes on when you first start the truck and then it'll leave you alone all day long
REPONUT For the lights , what about some stronger magnets & a piece of metal that you put on each side of the windshield but they must have some protective layer .( Rubber would be best & they have strong earth magnets that are really good ) Last it is very easy to make a piece that would hold once the door is shut that holds a "L" shaped bracket for metal for the lights & you put a padding that makes it work *Metal must be flex easy or a good strong plastic that has your flat metal braced to it :) Does this help ?
How many times have you driven away without your remote tail lights before you developed the habit of getting them back off the car? Do you have a second set just in case that happens or the original wired set? Great videos man, keep posting them!
Power steering issues on Super Dutys....definitely familiar with that. I once drove an old 7.3 that had issues with power steering fluid coming out from under the cap. It turned out the mechanic had refilled the power steering reservoir with power steering fluid after replacing a busted hose. He forget that the 7.3 uses transmission fluid as power steering fluid, instead of regular fluid.
This is truly a sad situation. That poor guy is soo polite and he deserves to get his truck back . He’s making the payments and he should take her to court & get his name off of her loan and be held accountable for her own actions& bad dealings . Sounds like she’s not a good decision maker and has gotten him into a situation that he wasn’t even aware of . Just bad all around . Hopefully he’s not doing to be the one holding the bag .
I hope he remembered to put the vehicles in the divorce papers. That's the only way I wasn't stuck making my ex's payments. Poor guy. At least he had enough sense to get out of the marriage!
Well I mean it’s not his truck... and it’s definitely not his wife’s truck... it’s a finance companies truck so I don’t see how any of that was legal...

to help with ur seat belt chime. go to your owner manual and it tells u how to get the chime to stop. in my 04 powerstroke i had to buckle the seat belt in and out like 9 times within 30 sec. then the chime will never bother u again. hopes that helps. keep up the good work.
Like I said before, fn pro dude. I have to deal with all kinda crap and try to keep my cool. I'm just doin my job, you need to call the office is normally what I end up sayin. Be safe Matt!
Haha, I can relate to the seat belt chime, I drive a similar model for work, and I will be in and Out a lot at job sites and making short trips around buildings.. as soon as you put it in gear it whines.. then about once a Min after that you stay moving, enough to drive you mad.

wish there was a gofundme site for this guy he really deserves something nice what a great man
You really have mastered interacting with the public.
This. This right here. This is why you NEVER GET MARRIED, folks.
You can use ATF in a pinch as a replacement for power steering fluid. You can also use water as a trail side replacement for brake fluid.
Love the Head Down Patient waiting... we've all been there!
this video made my day on so many levels. thanks
In a pinch you can use transmission fluid in your power steering.
There are a lot of good folks in this world, and Matt you are one of them.......
That scenery was just gorgeous during the part where they had pulled over & the poor guy called the financial company to work something out.
That satisfied sound 5:17 .. Always love it when you doing it
Glad to see you always have safety on your mind. That drone won't block your vision any.
LoLzz to the dog @1:40 chasing after the truck :-)
Poor little guy prob thought it was time to go somewhere
Power steering and seatbelt.....all I need to say is.......FORD.
Love the scenery, mountains are beautiful. No mountains in Florida
Matt, I ABSOLUTELY LOVE MY NEW RAINEATER WINDSHIELD WIPERS, THANK YOU FOR RECOMENDING THEM TO US ALL!!!!!
Jackasel and people said I was crazy...
RepoNut so true!
You damn straight. If you have enough right to take my solely owned vehicle then you also have the responsibility to tell me why you are taking it!!
Matt look in the Owners Manual for the truck and it shows you a way to turn off the BELL for the seatbelt
That guy was very nice and even offered to help you out. What an unfortunate incident with his wife.
wow I was thinking at first who would want to live out in the middle of no where then I saw that view. that is beautiful
All that truck talk and I'm like "I got a Honda Civic".
+Dhrumil Shah (Personal) Lol, I was in a truck first then switched to a new Civic w/ Turbo. After driving the truck again for a few minutes after I've had a lot of time in the Civic, I don't miss that truck one bit.
Nothing wrong with a civic
Dhrumil Shah (Personal) I only miss my truck cause I could do literally anything and not give a shit lmao
@ Dhurmil Shah ~ I have both
@@jsully2413
Lol, same story here but the other way around.
I know this video is 6 years old but that tracker move was so smooth 😂😂😂 "got any power steering fluid at your place?" 😂 absolute legend
Great videos man, keep posting them!
bartman2120 They have a built in BT proximity sensor that warns in the cab in I get to far away from them.
I used to drive away without mine all the damn time 😂 had to back track 45 minutes once
What beautiful scenery in this video. I feel sorry for the husband!
Really professional and cool how you worked with that guy. Sounds like the ex is a beauty !!!
I thought it was RepoNut....glad you told us Repot iN utah. Worked out great! I love Repotnut!
Well I mean it’s not his truck... and it’s definitely not his wife’s truck... it’s a finance companies truck so I don’t see how any of that was legal...
you again are the good guy in the whole thing just doing youre job and still you remain calm you are a way better man than I am.
It suxs I'm a few yrs behind on seeing this guy on here. This is real life shit not like on FAKE REALITY TV. This dude is awesome. I wish 4 new stuff
Lookin Good There Fella Damn Good Jobs I hope Alls Well With U And Family We Been Missin Yur Videos But Glad To See Ya Up N At Emm Hard, Off The Wall Real Quick My Daughter Told Me To Say Hi To I Guess Asia U B Safe Out Yonder Cant Wait Till Next Video
You can program your seat belt reminder to stay off, it's in the owners manual.
What a nice guy , glad you gave him benefit of doubt
It's good that you stop and work with those people to help them. Your magnetic lights won't work on the new Ford trucks, they're making the bodies out of aluminum now.
to help with ur seat belt chime. go to your owner manual and it tells u how to get the chime to stop. in my 04 powerstroke i had to buckle the seat belt in and out like 9 times within 30 sec. then the chime will never bother u again. hopes that helps. keep up the good work.
The funniest part of this video is his licence plate ending in LTZ on a Dodge. Ironic lol
For ur seat belt spray it down with furniture cleaner rub it in good with a rag and it should work… I did it on my truck and never had a problem since
Like I said before, fn pro dude. I have to deal with all kinda crap and try to keep my cool. I'm just doin my job, you need to call the office is normally what I end up sayin. Be safe Matt!
go to a scrapyard, cut out a seat belt hinge and keep it plugged it, it'll get rid of the warning and you dont have to move the seat belt at all.
that truck has hydroboost brakes, power steering is tied into it lol
Around 19:50 the dog is looking for your GPS.
He seemed like a really nice guy. Shame opposites attract like that. Good that you were able to let him keep his truck.
I like your empathy and respect, very nice.
Haha, I can relate to the seat belt chime, I drive a similar model for work, and I will be in and Out a lot at job sites and making short trips around buildings.. as soon as you put it in gear it whines.. then about once a Min after that you stay moving, enough to drive you mad.
