grapes and olives barely make any money because the planting is so expensive and sell price of the crop is terrible, i feel like a lot of us just want a small vineyard or grove but thats not viable. just in this video, just one row of grapes you planted 84 cuttings which cost $8820 yielding 233l of grape which if you sold the crop at best price on normal of 1303 would make you only $299. if you lent every equipment and bought fertiliser it would cost you 18788. with per cutting of grape costing 105, you need to plant roughly 4715 cuttings or $495,075 worth of grape vines just to cover the cost of leasing equipment and fertiliser. so if you plant a million dollar vineyard on year 1 and buy all the equipment, you'll need 35 years just to recover your investment and only then will you see profit. thats unreal. they should really fix the cost of planting. in real life even the most premium sangiovese and brunello grape cuttings from farmers in firenze, tuscany would cost you around 15-20 euros for 100 cuttings.
In FS22, you never had to mulch or subsoil close to the grapes, you only had to run the tool down the approximate middle. The game then recognised that you had made the effort and rewarded you with the applicable yield bonus. This is the same with FS25. You can also subsoil and mulch in the same pass. After harvesting, you get a "requires ploughing" state which is why you subsoil. Olives and grapes are by far the stupidest crops in FS. Labour intensive to the max, a pain to do and the rewards are tiny. Mulching and subsoiling only add 2.5 percent yield bonus each so unless you have huge vineyards or going for 'realism' they are simply not worth the time and effort.
FYI. On FS22, grapes. I have been using a pull behind solid fertilizer spreader that barely fits between the rows. (Four Fields Map Field #9) I only need to go down twice to fertilize the whole crop. It does 16 rows at a time. I have also placed the mulcher and cultivator on the same tractor. I am using the New Holland, in the small tractor menu. And, I bought 2 pruners, one on the front and one for the rear, for the same tractor. (I chose the 125hp, narrow tires) Cuts my trips for pruning in half. I did a test on mulch/cultivating. I did everything on 1 row and got 1575L -50% capacity on the harvester. (It was an outside row) The next 2 rows I went down the middle of each pair of rows. Not completely mulching the whole width. I got 1603L -51% capacity. The next two rows I did nothing. (prune and 100% fertilize on everything) I got 1323L -42%. I figured a 17% loss on those rows. I think it is an acceptable loss for the time and aggravation of trying to mulch in-between each row. I balance out my loss by purchasing the Grape orchards. X9. So far 3 processing plants handle the crops. The GPS on '25 would help on harvest. I couldn't find any info on crop testing. I'd like to try 25, but I can't afford a new computer. 22 on PS4. Good stuff. Mr. Cop.
It's simple you need a good farm sim tutorial that isn't screamy, and well put together, you google farmer cop and the crop you want to learn about, and BOOM you're good.
So the sprayer, mulcher, and cultivator are all lining up on the vine, not in between the rows, and yes I have the proper equipment. Any ideas? Is this a bug from the last patch?
The cheaper configurable harvester has less HP in the base configuration. This does matter a bit when you build the orchards on a hill. Engine is also upgradable so not a big deal especially since it's a 2 for 1 deal.
It's odd to me that in the mobile game FS23 the AI could harvest both grapes and olives but it can't in 25. I'm pretty sure it could do the field work too but I'm not positive. When harvesting the AI would back up to the end of the row when full too. Maybe it worked because there were only premade fields for both on the map and you couldn't add more. It was pretty profitable too IIRC.
The reason it works in the mobile game like that is because there are no custom fields. What is there is always there and never changes. Its easier to program a worker to do a single field but much more difficult to make it so they can do any random configuration a player can create
Olive us should be grapeful to Cop for posting these helpful tutorials!
Just so everyone knows you can run the mulcher on the front and have the cultivator down on the back

35 years to break even.😂 that’s insane.

I wish this game would allow for outsourcing via contracts. Would be great just to pay to have your vineyard harvested and pruned. Huge time saver.

I've found the pruner seems to be easier to get onto the row when mounted on the front of the tractor
Great video, your talking speed is spot on and very clear. Thanks
I usually put that grape pruner on the front of the tractor. I feel like it lines up easier.

I am having the same issue
Did cotton get a new texture

@FarmerCop that makes sense. That's why I'll probably never do grapes or olives, it just doesn't seem worth the effort.
It is such a shame that you can’t grow olives on trees and harvest by hand. The olives just feel like a grape knockoff
Can you use AI workers for Olives and grapes? Managing large fields in fs22 took so long
Base game AI...no. But in FS22, you could run Courseplay (PC only) and undoubtedly, it will be the same when it is released for FS25.
It feels illegal to be this early
I’m also early
Hi farmer cop ! I have a problem .my resolution is bad . I had tested all otherwise settings in the game . Can you help me ??
I can send you a photo from my bug
I was wondering if you know why I can’t sell the farm house on zielonka. I can’t even destroy it.
Tied to the npc.
By chance do you use the thrustmaster farmstick? And if so, is there a desk mount you have found works for it? I haven’t been able to find anything
Can bots help with this?
No, you have to do all the work by yourself 😢
