My 2020 RX 350 does not have a Navigation system but it does a Carplay but how van I get a what's up app, google maps and messenger on the screen like the one you have? Thanks for the video
Man... Just got my new Lexus RX 350 F sport yesterday (love, love, love this car). My salesman asked me if u needed help setting up the car and I said no because 1 I wanted to leave (getting a car takes too long) and 2 I just turned in my 2016 lease so I thought I knew how to do everything. Now I just spend over an hour trying to set up the apple car play. I’m thinking it should be easy because I’ve rented cars with this feature and I just plug in my phone to the charged and it automatically connects. Thanks goodness for this video because I would still be attempting to set my car play up. I was so happy to see additional charging ports that I would have never known to use the one in the center console if not for this video. Thanks you for saving me an embarrassing trip back To the dealer.
Roniece king Thank you so much for sharing your feedback! I am so glad this video helped you out. I’ve had many guests that got confused about which USB ports were used for Apple car play which is why this video was created, but congrats on your new RX you will really enjoy driving that vehicle!
@@instasingingvids3529 I disagree; it is a sure way to forget to take the phone with you when you leave the car. My ES300h has the USB ports behind the phone holder up front, and I still forget. Also, you can dictate your test in Apple Carplay. The RX solution is plain stupid.
@@KennyVacek Thanks! But that's a bit of disappointment tbh. That's literally the difference between a useful tool and a waste of cash on HUD IMO.... Do you know if the germans (Audi Q5, BMW X3 etc) offer apple carplay directed to HUD?
can you please do a video on how to tell the Lexus engineers to stop requiring a cable for it? Apple CarPlay is now wireless capable -- but not on Lexus!

Can you touch the screen to interact with the map, including zooming and panning? I have heard you have to click +/- buttons to zoom in/out etc...
bartwaggoner2000 Yes you can use the touch screen to control and manipulate the map functions as you would with the touch pad

So the USB ports NEXT TO WHERE YOUR PHONE WOULD SIT DO NOT WORK WITH APPLE CAR PLAY????? WTF!!! INSANE. That would be the ports that would be logical.
I see what you mean but I think they did that so you have to put your phone in the console that way people won’t be tempted to text and drive

The phone charges automatically while plugged with the USB cable

But actually you can do almost anything through Bluetooth. You don’t have to use Apple CarPlay all the time.
Will the apple carplay directions be directed to HUD if equipped?
No only for the Lexus Navigation
