As much as I love and ship sculder, I also ship Doggett and Scully. They go together as well. It was obvious Doggett loved Scully. Scully just loved Mulder.
Scully never loved Doggett or Doggett never loved Scully. He loved Reyes.

Doggett's relationship with Scully was beautiful. I loved Mulder but I found myself weirdly conflicted on his return, especially his assumption that all would go back to normal and giving Doggett shit in the beginning. He had no idea what they'd been through together. Doggett was a geezer, a good man and a damn good agent. Almost wanted him to end up with Scully as he was obviously in love with her. What a great character.
agree with you, but not totally. I loved Dogget. He was cool, smart, and a great agent. Dogget and Scully had chemistry, but not like Scully and Mulder's. You know, if I weren't so fond on Mulder, and I didn't missed him so much, he'd be my favorite character.

On the outside, he seems like a bullheaded straight shooter (not unlike Elliot Stabler from SVU) but inside, he was vulnerable, sympathetic and sensitive (not unlike Robert Goren from Criminal Intent).
This added so much dimension to a character that was often seen as cold and unfeeling.
Also, Doggett had a nobility that Mulder lacked.
Mulder was like a little boy wanting everything to go his way. He turned his quest to find his sister into an anarchist crusade.
While Doggett silently grieved over his son and blamed himself instead of blaming the system.
Which he was in his right since Agent Folner was keeping secrets and shredding evidence about Luke's death.
Doggett never burdened anyone with his crusade.
Scully and Doggett started out almost hating each other. Then their animosity turned into grudging respect.
This mutual respect bordered on physical attraction not just on Doggett's part but also Scully's.
When her son was kidnapped and Doggett was in a coma, Scully mourned Mulder's disappearance and reflected that she could also loose Doggett, too and it hurt her just as badly.
Even Mulder saw how close they were getting when he saw that Doggett had the Apollo keychain he gave to Scully on her birthday.
Scully gave it to Doggett in hopes that he will become a believer but it also carried two important messages: that she was passing the torch that Mulder held for so long, and that Doggett was beginning to matter to Scully.
That is why Mulder was surprised when he saw that Doggett had the keychain.
Well, Mulder was obviously in love with her too, and vice versa, so why to want to see her ending up with John?
God damn the Poor Doggett fanvids... but they are still alluring. Well done 👏👏
I only just finished watching the fourth episode of XF yesterday! Argh, I have such a long way to go before I get anywhere good with Mulder and Scully's relationship!

Most people would kill me for saying this. But I think Doggett deserves Scully more. Mulder is just self centered all the time.

The places and things Fox did for Dana, getting her Out of that ice tank, for example, risking limb and life over and over..... She Knew Mulder Would Never Desert her..... Plus he was Never Ever a Bore.... She Loved the Adventure, she wasn't about to be a Little League Mommy!
Yes, Mulder just always ditched her and was searching outside all the time. Doggett was a more secure being.

And that took some doings because cult freaks do not care who they attack... They are cowards.
He also (in a way) saved Mulder. That proves his nobility and his loyalty.
Because he may have started looking for Mulder for the wrong reasons but his essential goodness caused him to change his course and find Mulder, not just for Scully, but because he found out all the wrongs that were done to Mulder (losing his sister, his dad being murdered all for a conspiracy of evil old men trying to save their own hides).
He did not agree with Mulder on his belief in the paranormal but he sympathized with him for all that he lost.
That makes Doggett not just a badass but also a very loyal and cool guy.
Not as cool, loyal and sexy a badass as A.D Skinner but close!

Well, I'm sure people will jump on me but I feel Doggett was not for Scully. He was a good agent and really cared for Scully but he was just as determined as Mulder I his beliefs. For goodness sakes the man was shot and killed, ate by a character and then spit back out alive! How could he not believe in paranormal happening and things nonexplainable! Mulder had his faults and I wish he was more sensitive toward Scully but being a believer is more difficult than believing. If you don't believe it justlook at the various religions of the world!
I don't care what other X-Files Fans say... Doggett and Scully make a Great Couple...

Who cares about their relationship? As long as they get on with each other. It's the sci-fi stories that matter not bloody romance. Put some proper clips of the episodes on instead of this montage love shit.

I fully understand xfiles I watched it for years and yes there was an underlying affection between the two which cemented the atmosphere of the show but the stories were more enjoyable. This love montage shit with music playing just isn’t moulder and skully
In my opinion The XFiles is three things:
Science fiction show
An horror show
And then, a love story. The greatest I've ever seen. I didn't see Dogget like a date for Scully... I always thought that Mulder and Scully loved each other and belong each other.

@@advancedmicrosystems4658 but in the first My Struggle, she hints that she became infuriated with Mulder's negligence.
He literally turned his back on their relationship to look for "little green aliens".
Which is why she broke it off.
She put in over 10 years and gave up her son just for a guy who preferred to keep chasing flying saucers.
I can see why that would piss her off.
She had already lost her sister to Mulder's crusade.
