The internal mic sounds surprisingly great in this video. I wouldn’t even bother with the DJI Mic as it doesn’t really add enough to justify the cost and inconvenience.
You are correct 👍… But the only problem you will encounter when vlogging using internal on board mics is that if you happen to turn away from the camera while talking the sound and presents of your voice will suffer terribly…. So you must teach yourself to only talk when looking at or facing camera …. And for that reason only i use the external mic clipped to my jacket…. Just incase you didn't know or aren't worried about it, the front mic muffs are covering the light/color sensor (the bigger middle bit in the O) I"m definitely considering the Mic 2 after seeing a few videos about it, but still occupied paying for my DJI A-4 😏
Alright, Robert. It looks and sounds great mate, even with just the internal mic it’s easily good enough for clear dialogue. For what you do, the actioncam setups are still way more suited to it and are definitely more convenient. I still see people shooting/vlogging on mirrorless and DSLRs with all kinds of junk attached to them. And while these setups are “technically” better for quality, there’s no way you’re walking up and down hills, walking through mud and ponds etc. With such a heavy and cumbersome shooting setup. In fact, larger setups just simply get in the way and massively restrict the type of shots you can get and the locations you can go to. Plus most people are going to think twice before using a more delicate, larger and more expensive setup for certain types of shooting. Then there’s also the issue of losing shots with large setups because they are slower to use. I’m basically at the stage where I’ve gone even more convenient now and started using phones for my vlogging. While my actioncam vlogging setups are super small and convenient, using a phone means going out with even less stuff, as I’d always have a phone on me anyway. I use OBS quite a bit on my small gaming channel, while I use it for recording, it’s essentially the same for live streaming. In fact, I’ve started doing some capture and OBS videos specifically for Mac on my main channel, one of the recent videos shows how to setup OBS for ProRes recording. I also know a fair bit about the hardware, USB-C and Thunderbolt capture interfaces etc. I think the last time we seen each other I was transitioning between Windows and Mac, I’ve now been fully Mac for about 18 months (if I remember correctly, you’re on Mac?) Hi Robert, I was just wondering if you need to set the DJI Mic2 up?.. doesn't the 32bit float take away the worry of that?. I also noticed the wind muff on the front of the camera is covering the colour temperature sensor, is that not affecting the image quality or are you robbing yourself of even better quality??.

Aye up Rob , hope you are well mate.. I had bought the dji OA3 and had a nightmare with it , loads of issues with it so I went back to the GoPro Hero 11 . However the OA4 looks much improved and sounds well with the internal mic . What’s the make of the little light you are using ? Atb Dave 📷👍
Ey up Dave … Yes i am well pal thank you… I am feeling very confident that this Dji Action 4 will not let me down…. It is brilliant just on its own with the internal mic… And now that it is compatible with the Dji mic 2 its a no brainer to switch from my GoPro’s… I also bought the pocket 3 and still have it … It’s gotten me back into vlogging again… I have really missed just banging on about stuff into the camera and making little videos….
