Excellent stuff, thanks for sharing. What lead me to look into Carl Rogers books is from reading Chris Voss book on negotiating he's a hostage negotiator and in his books he talks about tactical empathy and listening skills a lot of the concepts are from Carl Rogers
I found this book, from a Wellness Course I am taking. I don’t know if anyone will dead this but, does anyone think your real self is most express and experienced when you are a kid?
When you describe people with schizophrenia as “going crazy” and depressed individuals who “cry all the time”, you’re perpetuating the stereotypes and stigmas that are false and demeaning to people. I liked your video and your recap of the book, but I think it’s important to become more aware of the stereotypes you’re associating with individuals that actually lessens their hardships and mental health struggles.
Hi jessica, thanks for your feedback. My intention was not to be demeaning to people with schizophrenia or depression. If you took it that way, I’ll try to be more precise with my speech in the future.
@@jaredbeckwith just to be clear, I’m not saying you were purposely doing this! My feedback is only to point out that the use of these stereotypes can be harmful and they’re so engrained in society that we can say things unintentionally. I agree that it’s important to be thoughtful and intentional with your words. Thank you for taking my feedback to heart!
Your authenticity definitely shines through!
Keep it up man!
Thanks so much Joseph, will do my friend!

Definitely expressed more when a kid I think. But maybe you experience your real self privately more as you get older
So therapy is we paying for a perfect intellectual understanding friend?
People have different opinions on what therapy is, but your definition sounds good to me my friend!
