If you think that’s bad, New Zealand sentenced a guy to 10 months of house arrest. The guy was having road rage and got out of his car with a samurai sword and hacked and slashed at someone so much so that their life will never be the same. And they treated it like was a teenager stealing from a gas station. Absolutely disgusting of they’re legal system.

Probably so that the government wouldn't have to worry about his health since there's so many vets already. They probably thought to let her out early and hopefully she would finish the job. It's pretty sick what the government does to our military/vets. They are the reason that my dad had been sick most of his life and yet VA was waiting for him to die until it came out that they were purposefully trying to let the older vets die off who had hep c, the same virus my dad has. Once it came out that they were treating them that way, they called up my dad and said "good news! You're next to get your life saving medication that we purposefully weren't giving to you because we are cheap, the pills are expensive, and they hate vets! VA and veteran care in general, SUCKS! That's why I wouldn't put it past them to try to let her off pretty much Scott free so she could try again. Though, this time, they would sentence her longer because she still killed him even though they encouraged it!

see, heres half the issue, its a women, trying to kill a man, thats never taken seriously until well, theres a dead man and a woman who gets a slap on the wrist, this case shows both the fact it isnt taken seriously until its gone on for far too long, and it shows that she got a slap on the wrist, what a surprise.

    • @viddykhaos2896

@@bored588 Exactly, this summarized the bias.
"A woman? Kill a man? No, not possible."
A woman is on average weaker than a man, but if she slaps him it is abuse. A woman being slapped would be told to burn him legally and socially - it should be no different. This is not slap, this is murder through poison. Most spousal murders through poison are done by women to their husbands rather than vice versa.

I actually knew this woman! My husband and I were stationed at the military base in Germany where this happened. She used to work at the commissary on the base and kept to herself mostly and was quiet. I didn't know her personally but I did talk with her a lot. Actually what is absolutely insane is a week before her husband and her PCS'd back to the states I spoke with her because she had stopped me at self checkout. She was asking about my tattoos and piercings and where I got them. She had said she was looking to get a lot of tattoos done soon....little did I know she was banking on getting a lot of money from doing this. A week later the news was out all over base and the gasp I had gasped LOL.

Not really. I drank bleach when I was younger in a much larger amount (but it was mixed with dish soap and a little water unbeknownst to me) and it was painful, but it didn't kill me.

The judge and prosecutor in this case should be disbarred. This woman deserves to be charged with 1st degree attempted murder. As per the criminal defense lawyer and FindLaw websites, the fact that she used poisoning methods for a premeditated murder, by definition, makes it an aggravated charge. People typically spend 20-25 years in prison for the BASE CHARGE. The aggravated charge can result in the death penalty. The fact that this woman spent less than a year in prison, when she deserves to spend AT MINIMUM 25 years, is criminal. Lessening the charges because of hearsay and bias is bullshit. Everyone should have equal rights and the laws and penalties should apply equally to all.

Honestly, this is my biggest issue recently in the legal system, and it's the plea deals, or just settling in general. Just like with any business, legal teams try and minimize their expenditures as much they can, and a really easy way to do that is with plea deals or settling a case out of court. The issue with that, though, is that a lot of times you see some really shitty plea deals, like this one. It's honestly more of a crime that the woman got off on such a simple slap on the wrist more so than it is her trying to kill him, because the legal system has basically said, "No, you're good."

My ex wife was also a horrible human being (not this bad, but close) and i was told that in order to get a restraining order, id basically need hospital records from physical abuse...but all shed need is "reasonable fear of retaliation." That's right... she'd have to put me in the hospital, but I'd just have to make her think I'd *retaliate.*
Oh...and if women *ever* go to jail...its a fraction of what a guy would get in the same exact scenario.

It's crazy if I walked to the store and grabbed $50 out of the cash register and ran, without hurting anyone or brandishing a weapon, I could go to prison for longer than this woman did for trying to k!ll her husband. If I so much as say "F you" to a police officer I would go to jail for it because they would force a physical altercation over "verbal assault", but people can get away with the most heinous crimes somehow. So I guess the protip is if you're gonna commit crimes, go for the worst ones because you'll just go free while they bust kids with 2 grams of shrooms in the wrong state.

Theorectically. Some abusers love driving their victims to the point of anger and then calmly watching the results. Recording the victim's reaction to make them look like the crazy one is a common tactic.
However, when my military husband was abusive, I fled the house. When I was still living with him, I was still trying to make the marriage work. No, I wouldn't have poisoned the coffee. After I gave up on the marriage, I started gathering evidence. I still wouldn't have poisoned the coffee due to fear of him escalating or taking the evidence to everyone to gather sympathy. It's possible that if I did poison the coffee, my husband would have done exactly what this husband did.
His actions don't alleviate suspicion of him being abusive. Her actions do.
