I am so thankful that Y'all got your sweet corn harvested and put up before the storm moved in. Paul seems to be getting more comfortable with the videos. That is great to see. How are Y'all's tomatoes doing? I love to see how excited Little Miss Sunshine gets when she is helping you both. You all stay healthy and safe. God Bless Y'all. Hugggggs

Even though this was about your corn and how to store it, I HAD to say, your hair looked so pretty in this video. It was cute pulled up with the little curls, and pretty at the end the day after the storm. Smart idea to have picked it all before the storm, and what a great idea to use your old ice chest as an ice bath! Looked great! 🐔🐣🌽

I agree about Amanda’s hair. the humidity causes it to curl and it looks beautiful.

I agree, your hair looked beautiful Amanda. It always does though. The corn looked awesome too. Your little Sunshine is beautiful just like mom. That was so cute her wanting the worms for the chickens.

Do glad you got your corn harvested just in time. It looks beautiful. Y’all will be enjoying it for many months to come. I sure hope you will be able to eat it without any ill effects. You seem to be very happy. So glad for you. I love getting to see Little Miss Sunshine every once in a while. She is growing fast. Blessings to y’all & your homestead. Love & Hugs from Vicki in Ft. Worth, Texas 🇨🇱🇺🇸👍❤️🥰🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

Did my corn the same day as ya'll did. About the same result. I would have had a lot more but the squirrels ate about 3/4s of my corn. Good job on the success. Oh yeah, I transplanted like you did, and it did work out well for the most part.

I’m glad that you got your corn in, you must have time to get a second planting in. Michigan got your storm and it was very destructive up here, my daughter is still out of power, hundreds trees were blown over and branches are down all over Michigan, shingles were ripped off my sons house, it’s pretty amazing how powerful a storm can stay traveling that far.

We always blanch our corn outside too. The smell is amazing.

I love your property. that pond and the little hills that I could see behind you when you were planting the corn look nice. I just assumed everything was very flat - Not that there’s anything wrong with flat land. 😀

Amanda, that is how I always test my corn too, - along with the methods you talked about, and that is to try it raw - right in the garden. Same with green beans too! Love them raw!

I am growing a Non GMO Indian corn with short growing season (since I am late getting it in late) And, it can take some cold weather. I have allergies also and CORN and BEEF are top of the list. I am hoping that I can enjoy the Indian corn without those issues.

Nice 🌽!!! I've been buying mine fresh from local farmer and freeze it. I barely cook it. Just enough to heat it. Like 1-2 min. I hate store bought frozen corn and canned corn hurts my stomach. Fresh picked and put up same day stays sweet a year later and doesn't bother me.

Hi what kind of sweet corn did you plant?I love funks g90 sweet corn,we blanch it and cut it off the cob with a knife or a corn slide, and freeze it in zip lock bags.I have found a few bags that were 5 years old in the bottom of the freezer and they were still fine.

Seems like you planted that yesterday and it grew overnight....
Bet you can put another crop in, to grow before winter.

I shucked mine then vacuum sealed and straight to the freezer, that was a mistake never again.
