Installed these tail lights on my 86 too and that tool is a joke, I don't even know why they sent it lmao. My buddy sat there with more patience than I knew was possible trying to get it to work and eventually he did but I'm pretty sure it wasn't the tool, the force just eventually helped him out.
The tool it came with only works on certain 22/23 BRZ/GR86 because for some reason it didn’t come standard for all models to have the same screws. So some people will definitely have to buy the tool separately like the one I got! It’s still nice that they give you a tool but they probably didn’t realize that it’s not standard for all models

Pretty smart for some screws to have a point
I like the Vland lights better, simply because the turn signals wrap around to the side and are more visible. I think the segmented "teeth" of your tail lights is a bit too busy for the shape of the car.
They do look great though.

I do a whole process of washing and detailing but the wrap itself is a combination of gloss & metallic finish that is why it’s so shiny! 🙌🏽
