Dirty? I've traveled the world. Istanbul is the cleanest large city I've ever seen.
Thanks 👏
Comparing to Berlin, Istanbul is really clean.
thanks man 🙏
I agree
I noticed the air quality was very bad though. They need to do something about the traffic pollution.
Istanbul dirty? Istanbul is one of the cleanest cities in Europe.
(I'm italian)
По сравнению с Москвой- да!
I have not heard anyone saying that Istanbul is dirty. To the contrary, everyone is expressing their surprise for how a city as populated and big as Istanbul can be that clean.
Who said Istanbul is dirty? I never heard that anyone said Istanbul is dirty. Istanbul is the capital city of the world. It is clean and beautiful
Dude chill out
Was the capital city of the world from 15th century to 19th. We are in 21st century. 20th century was New York, and soon China's Shanghai. 21st century will be China's.

There was a sign stating to go slow due to cat crossing 🤣 awesome!
welcome to turkey:)
Catstanbul ?
Timestamp? I didnt saw it in the Video.
The drummers earn their money with those handouts. 😊 their role is to wake everyone up for the pre fast breakfast known as "Sahur"
Istanbul is so beautiful❤
Not only İstanbul bro !! Visit the whole Türkiye !!
The bloke at 2am is drumming to wake the people up for a pre-dawn meal. Remember, they are going to be fasting.
Muslims would be appalled though . its only a Turkish tradition.
@@ozguroge
No, it's not a Turkish tradition.
@@spidyman8853ok, you’re right. It’s a Istanbul tradition from the Ottoman era,
@@spidyman8853I didn’t hear of that custom other than here…
yes, it's beautiful old habit also in my country Egypt.
That music middle of the night is only Ramadan time (it is very old tradition ) to wake up people to eat before son rise so they can have fasting next day. Neighbors will give him money as a tip..not to stop his music.
Dirty ? Come on man you are joking. Although it has a population of 20 million , it is very clean and organised
You need a guide in Istanbul and some friends. There’s sooo much more to explore in this huge metropolis. You even weren’t close to Bosporus and all the monuments
İstanbul is very clean 👍you have to see New York
I live in Newyork it’s filthy 😂😂😂😂
@@jimakcelik6486 ı visited New York almost two week ago yes it was so filthy
@@fes13us it's the greatest city in the world, bar none.
Hey brother. I really enjoyed your video. You have been misinformed. Unlike the Europeans and the Americans, the Ottomans did not participate in slave trading. That is why there is a very small population of African Turks. The African Turks were free citizens of the Ottoman Empire that extended into Africa.
I think you are the one who misinformed.

@@Nemesissis u take wikipeida as ur source...
That is not entirely true. The empire was a significant part of the trade before it was cool!
It was mostly the other way around though. Ottomans enslaved populations in its western areas and beyond -as well-. Skin color did not have much to do with the trade there. That's the important difference.
Edit: added - as well - to remove an implication.
Bro they did there were even slave market in Grand Bazaar. But probably there were much more Slavic/Caucasian slaves than African slaves, that is the difference from European slave trade.
The slavery is not the same as European slavery. Slaves have rights under Islam. They weren’t beaten up or hurt, their children weren’t born into it. And in Islam it’s encouraged to free slaves

For what?
having recently seen london, i can say istanbul is the top floor of heaven... in terms of cleanliness!
Oh yeah, we were there over a week, didn't see one rodent or one bug. The cats keep it nice! Love the dogs too. Kind people. Istanbul is an amazing culture and city. Great Vibes! Sam USA
Good work, Brother! One of my favorite cities.
beautiful country watching these thank you!
I have visited many countries but none of them compare to the magnificence of Türkiye. Napolian once said if the world was one country Istanbul would be the capital.
USA all the way@yasty6493
Fun fact: The first black pilot in the history was an afro-turkish man named Ahmet Ali Çelikten in 1914 :)
at the end, that guy appears on video wakes people that will be fasting tomorrow with drum for the last meal they gonna get before sun goes up. some people are giving money as appriciation. its an old ramadan culture.
But what if someone doesn't wanna wake up at night, isn't it a disrespect?
@@publicname that is true but culture does not care about disrespectfull outcomes. at least if occuring discomfort is insignificant.

Everyone knows İstanbul is one of the cleanest cities in the world. But your aim is to get attention for increasing viewers.
Bence ne kadar temiz bir şehir olduğunu göstermiş algı yapanlara
17:29 THEY GAVE HIM MONEY AS BEING THANKFUL FOR WAKING PEOPLE UP FOR SAHUR.
yea not to stop him 🤭
One of my favourite cities in the world! 😍 With the kindest people 🥰 Have an amazing time!
Excuse me, Bro! Where did you get your history courses from? You mentioned the Ottoman Slavery; there isn't such a crap. Slavery in Islam was abolished at the beginning of prophet Mohammed Era. The Ottoman started at the end of 13 century, and didn't rely on any slave trade or using it.
Esas Türk kozmolojisinde kolonileştirme ve adam sömürme yoktur. Türkler özünde gayet sosyalist millet , ama hiyerarşik yapı var, doğayla uyumlu, her canlıya saygılı, kadınla erkek eşit zaten Türk dilinde batı dillerindeki gibi dişi erkek hatta hayvan ayrımı da yoktur.
kadikoy is another kingdom and was called as khalkedon. it means country for blind people. it is very historical neighbourhood with its churches, synagogues and old buildings. if anyone who will visit istanbul, i definitely recommend kadikoy to visit:)
11:57 WHOEVER SAYS ISTANBUL OR TURKEY IS DIRTY MUST BE A HATER PERIOD.
for sure.they are effected by disgusting crusader mentality and hate vocabulary.
I was in Istanbul last January, cleannesses got my attention…
These are the districts I grew up in! 😍
I love your recording style bro! You’re the man. Enjoy your time. 😁
All those who claim that Istanbul or Türkiye are dirty are out of envy, in comparison to their country.
Which people said Turkey it was dirty?? Kadıköy is the most beautiful and cleanest district of Istanbul. By the way, why didn't you go to Moda, just next to the ice cream shop was a wonderful place.
We live with mice in Amsterdam. This video title is purely to attract attention!
yeah. there is "Konak Dondurma" in Moda if you want to be away from the crowd. it's quiet and calm place.
İstanbul is super clean. Visit it 10 times!
Istanbul is a Massive Huge City it’s Europes Biggest Largest city the city itself is very Very Clean
No turkey - Yes Türkiye 🇹🇷
I would love to visit to see the architectural style, the art, and the street food.
Turkey is the place! I hope you visit other areas of Turkey and not just Istanbul. The entire country will blow your mind! I absolutely could live there with no problems!
Is Istanbul lgbt 🏳️🌈 friendly?

Did you know James Baldwin lived in İstanbul on and off for 10 years? He famously said, Turkey saved his life. It was his refuge.
17:25 it is starting for fasting traditionally waking up people for that it is as back time an alarm clock!!
Another Awesome Adventure Thank You Sly Safe Travels🙂❤👍Watching from Canada🙂
Man I just love your vibe and your videos so much. Great work! Love the accent too :)
Great video, did not appear dirty
That dessert looked so good!! I bet it was to die for.
5:00 like for the music behind!!
You missed out a great Library directly at the Bosphorus in Moda (Kadiyköy). You were very close to it. Wonderful building from the Ottoman time and a wonderful place to drink cay (tea) and relax.
Nice videos, thanks for sharing. Greetings from a turkish man from Germany :)
Türkiye is way cleaner than most nations, rivaling even Switzerland in most cases. I've come across many people in the US who've never been to Paris but they somehow claim that Paris is dirty and French people smell. Which is far from truth obviously but makes me wonder who plants these thoughts in people's heads and how?
Turkey is a great place to visit and enjoy your holiday
Looks nice there 👍
Taksim is the center of the city, but it is not the most touristy place. That honor goes to Sultan Ahmet. That’s where the most tourist attractions like the Topkapi Palace, Blue Mosque, Hagia Sofia, Grand Bazaar and Sarnich etc are located. It is where the original city was located. You can get there by metro. The grand Mosque you saw was built just a few years ago, doesn’t have any historical significance. It is literally a knockout of the historic mosques like Blue Mosque and the Sulayman Mosque in the historic center.
Fun fact Ottomans used to drink coffee more than tea. After the world war and the Initiation of the republic importing coffee was a problem so they started to produce tea in the northern part of Turkey since then (100 years), Turkish people have been the biggest consumers of tea compared to the rest of the world.
Then u have never seen Pakistan or India tea drinking culture, Turkey can't come close
who said that :))) You can not find any city as crowded as İstanbul and clean. Maybe Tokyo can compete with istanbul. Rest has no chance.
Its Ramadan wake up prayer time.
I’m really enjoying these travels, I can practically taste the food! Living vicariously through you, sooo intresting 🌺🌻🌸🌻🌺🌻🌸🇧🇲
Bless up bro 😎 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
Thanks for this tour...Turkey is on my dream list. ❤ Though I can't help it you just said sezzy inside a mosque...
Good man…great video.Thank you
fam, if you have the time, please visit the famous bagdat street (saskinbakkal-ciftehavuzlar) area. you can also take the boats to the islands facing istanbul from bostanci. enjoy!
Where's the dirty bro?
Man I loved the video! Keep It up!
I might visit this Country one day! It looked nice to me, and friendly people!
The people are pretty modern than other Islamic countries by merely looking at this video. Their women don't wrap themselves up.
Thank you, sir.
I understand what you mean, but I still want to emphasize that Turkey is not an Islamic country; it is a secular country where the majority of the population is made up of Muslims.
Exactly I like that and they are beautiful
You mean backward being naked is backwardness like the uncivilised people
Turkey, especially Istanbul, is becoming fairly liberal these past years. Went for the first time in 2014 and visited again 2023..was shocked at how liberally people dressed just in a 9 year time difference
@@JordansAlwaysOntheGo Atatürk gave us freedom and told us to follow the West, we are trying to fulfill his wishes

The drummer at the end is a "Ramadan Drummer" that patrols the neighborhood to wake people for "sahur" (the last (or first) meal of the day before the sun rises. This is an Ottoman tradition. The drummers bid on neighborhoods to get this job every year. They get paid in tips that they collect by going from door to door - I think twice in the month of Ramadan.
If the guy paid him something that was probably just another "tip" but not a sanctioned one.

I have been living 1 year away from Turkey and I missed Istanbul. Seeing Menemen and tea at breakfast made me feel refreshed. 😊
As an American, Istanbul is a super clean city compared to New York.
Hello, the name of this country is Türkiye not turkey. Thanks for the video.
"I love subways for some reason". Maybe "Underground Railroad" is the reason ))) No offense mate, it's just a joke))) Loving your content!
Great video Brother
You killed me with the “Bruh” at the end.
Nice Video from Istanbul. 🤟🤟
6:30. there was coffee in the Ottoman times, tea came to the Türkiye after 1960s. But you are right, the core of the turkish breakfast is turkish rize tea. We drink it 24/7 😀
when was this filmed im going to istanbul on the 20th
I remember when Sly had 23,000 subscribers. ✊🏾🇺🇸
İnstanbul is not dirty. I love that place.
That ice cream 🤩🤩
Please write the name of the country correctly: it's No longer called Turkey, it's " Türkiye ". Turkey is a kind of bird. Türkiye is the right name for the country you're referring to. Thanks.
Why are there always unrealistic and irrelevant prejudices and thoughts about Türkiye and Turks?
One Word: Kurds
As an Istanbulite, I first welcome you, have a nice holiday, the places you chose to visit are perfect. Take a Bosphorus tour by ship at the first opportunity. And definitely go to the Princess Islands by ship. Greetings.
Спасибо за видео 👍, был когда-то в Стамбуле. Отличные добрые люди

Compile a book on all the metros you’ve documented on your travels 😊
The drummer wakes up the fasters so they can have their last meal before the fasting starts.
Ottoman didn't have slave trade
Although most people in our cities pay attention to cleanliness and not throwing garbage on the ground, there are also people who exhibit behavior that throws garbage on the ground. I wish everyone would pay attention to their personal education in this regard, but unfortunately, such people always exist, even if we do not like them.
I enjoyed watching your video Beautiful City Istanbul I born Europe side
The guy who was singing at the end was just doing his job. During Ramadan, these 'Drummers' wake people up to eat their breakfast just before they start fasting. Ramadan is for 30 days and these drummers collect money/tips at the middle and end of Ramadan for services rendered.
Hey man, here in Kadiköy and at this time of the year, 99,9% of the people you saw on the streets were locals, not tourists. And, yes, Istanbul isn't dirty at all. The Ramadan drummer at the end calls to wake up for the breakfast before daylight, that's his way to earn money, but he doesn't seem to have much success in there ;)
these are the teasers for the asia side man, you should also go to bagdat caddesi (called "cadde" :)) )
So that guy at the end is tasked with waking up the people for sahur (suhoor), which is the last meal you can eat before daybreak when the fast starts
oh man, I love this
Out of 86 million are 70% turkish 15% kurdish and rest are Balkan and coucasian people and we have around 100 k afro turks
+ And we have 10-12 million migrants and refugees
Arab african south asian ukrainian russian etc.=96-98 million people
Maybe 100 million Idk 😅
And many people like me are mixxed but i say i am turkish its easier
you are in Kadıköy and even though there might be some tourists around, the entire place is not very touristy. So restaurants in the main road are ok there, you don't need to worry :)
For Ramadan, other than the small cities in inner anatolia I think, most restaurants will be open and will be packed. No worries, you can eat as you wish
Since it is a holiday, it is not busy, but it will start being busy on Monday.
17:10 It's a traditional Suhoor alarm clock. Sahur means the last meal that Muslims eat from dawn to sunset before fasting during the month of Ramadan. We pay money him for his work.
I did enjoy your video and you are asking the person who is beating the drum what this is, He is beating Drom to wake up the people for the Sahur (people eat till almost sun rice for the fastening) in Ramadan, Thanks.
14:20 çanlıca mosque is a new mosque. Building has finished in 2019 and opened. So its not a old mosque
15:49 you say the City name changed. But even in 1922 on the Ottoman coins there were writing "struck in Constantinapole Mint"
