If this song was played in a record store (assuming there are any left somewhere!) everyone would stop talking and listen in awe! Yes it's that good! Please play on for many years. Aren't we all lucky to be alive at the same time as Cheap Trick! 🤗
the structure of this song....the music....words....this is up there with the band....springsteen...any great music of my life....glad they stayed at it....saw them up close in a small place yrs ago....got it.....only greatness makes this kind of stuff....
An absolute musical work of art. Wouldn't surprise me if this is about Revelation and Christ's ultimate victory. There is something very spiritually magnificent about both Rick and Robin in particular! Love all the guys. Wonderful to meet Tom and Bun E many moons ago. God bless Cheap Trick!!! Amen!!!
Great song from a Great band! A band with TRUE TALENT! Theres not many of these bands left in the world! Alot of crap in the music biz with the lip syncing and violence/rap! Thank you CHEAP TRICK you are GENUINE!
I thought nothing could compare to the first album but this is really good! Its not as raw as I'd like but thats the beauty of Cheap Trick, I cant wait to hear these songs LIVE. thats when you see and hear the real Trick.
The Latest es un gran disco y Cheap Trick es la banda de toda mi vida...como reencontrarme con un viejo amigo ,al que le fue muy bien....Brindo por eso!!!
A phenomenally powerful song about death and, despite our resistance to the inevitability of it and gaping sense of loss, how lives take on so much meaning, the adversity and their particular sacrifices placed in a wider context.....ideal companion piece to "Who Killed Tangerine?" by Tears For Fears....
I think that Trick saw that the Beatles were the number one selling artist of the past decade and figured "why not tap into that". Worked pretty well for Oasis a few years ago. I recorded a song that people said sounded like a mix between Lennon and the Beach Boys. I can live with that.
@crapple009 Kinda, sorta got my wish. Made the trip to Milwaukee a few weeks ago to see their Dream Police show and got to hear this and "Smile" from The Latest backed by an orchestra. Simply breathtaking. :)
To the person who noticed an English edge in here...They were once known as- and also a song on this album- The Sick Men of Europe. Also, they were early and big champions of The Move, Family and Procol Harum, as stated.
Really? that must be a giant shock to Rick, Robin, Tom and Bun E, since they are also credited with the songwriting. CT always puts the name of the composer on their songs. Pat Leonard is a co-writer, not solo writer.
+Jsalrulz Don't get me wrong. I love the Beatles, but I am amazed how "music lovers" have barely heard of a band that were either inspired by or inspired the band they proclaim to love. :)
THE BEST AMERICAN ROCK BAND OF ALL TIME
What an amazing song..Zander's vocals are second to none.
Possibly the best song they have ever recorded. Hope they have another in them like this.
Such an AWESOME song!! Cheap Trick really is amazing!! They do get better with age...and Robin Zander has a voice that delivers EVERY time!!

Absolutely Fantastic...what a great Rock & Roll fine wine they are...just keep getting better with age.

This album -' The Latest ', is a masterpiece as was 'ROCKFORD' - I love this song !!!!!!!!
AWESOME! Every song on "The Latest" is amazing....wish they'd do an "album show" for this one! :)
I agree! The imagery in this song is so strong. Haunting and beautiful, a modern masterpiece.
Great song from a Great band! A band with TRUE TALENT! Theres not many of these bands left in the world! Alot of crap in the music biz with the lip syncing and violence/rap! Thank you CHEAP TRICK you are GENUINE!
Amazing tune and voice! CT rules!!
I find this song completely mesmerizing and want to play it again and again and again... It's so beautiful...

" Oh, bloody Hell,what a brilliant masterpiece.
great to see more tracks being put up from this wonderfull new album
This music is divine. Cheap Trick is THE way to rock and roll !
i agree for him to smoke for three to four decades, i cant believe his voice is so good
Wow! Makes you wish many more artists would step it up a notch to produce incredible music like this!
The Latest es un gran disco y Cheap Trick es la banda de toda mi vida...como reencontrarme con un viejo amigo ,al que le fue muy bien....Brindo por eso!!!
Awesome song guys. Nice chord progression. Keep rocking. My favorite song by cheap trick
Greatest song written in quite some time...
CT Rules!

Keep Rocking Guys!!!
@CheapKat3 Spoken so true- "The Latest" is Cheap Trick on top its game. I love it!!!!!
and you can hear that the beatles are a definite music influence on cheap trick
They really should play this song live, it's one of their better ones
i agree...But without BUN E whether thry think so or not .. Cheap trick isnt nearly at their full potential. .. its like that
@crapple009
Kinda, sorta got my wish. Made the trip to Milwaukee a few weeks ago to see their Dream Police show and got to hear this and "Smile" from The Latest backed by an orchestra. Simply breathtaking. :)
Is this a masterpiece? Have to listen it again. Never heard this on radio :( Very strong tune!
Carl Wilson was a lifelong smoker whose voice never faltered. Thankfully, the Big C has not silenced Mr. Zander.
To the person who noticed an English edge in here...They were once known as- and also a song on this album- The Sick Men of Europe. Also, they were early and big champions of The Move, Family and Procol Harum, as stated.
I ♥ you, CheapTrick... You are the most beautiful symphony of sounds...
Love this song!!!!
great and fantastic
MASTERFUL !!!
AWESOME! Thanx, guys. :)
Me gusta esta canción y mucho muy bella
GREAT WORK!!!!
@patriotgyrl65 It was Lennon, actually. He said it on a radio show, while presenting the song Showdown.
A VERY STRONG PROCOL HARUM INFLUENCE, ACCORDING TO members of Cheap Trick
Consistently good easy listening
🧡💪🎼
reminds me of Odyssey by Kiss, same arrangements, like Odyssey a great song.
I believe THE LATEST, which features this song, was the final album with Bun E. Carlos as a band member.
It's a re-write of Procol Harum's 'Salty Dog' but still a great song!
A little bit of "Maybe I'm Amazed"at 0:34
Is this song about the end of the world?Nice english sounding edge.
Ok whats with the beatles soundalike..cool tune
did they take back into the group the original drummer?? bon e carlos.??
Great song. Written by Patrick Leonard, not Cheap Trick.
Really? that must be a giant shock to Rick, Robin, Tom and Bun E, since they are also credited with the songwriting. CT always puts the name of the composer on their songs. Pat Leonard is a co-writer, not solo writer.
@@mfc1212us if or was only written by Patrick, only his name would appear the writing credits
this sounds like Lennon in the beginning.
It makes me sick seeing a lady wearing a Beatles T-Shirt who proclaims they are her idol, yet has never heard of Cheap Trick! How does this happen!?
Well The Beatles were before CT. I don't understand your complaint.
+Jsalrulz Don't get me wrong. I love the Beatles, but I am amazed how "music lovers" have barely heard of a band that were either inspired by or inspired the band they proclaim to love. :)
Still. No Hall of Fame. Something is wrong.
Lady Gag will be in before these guys.
autotuners are for people that can't sing.
