You aren't lying!! Goodwill close to me sells used clothing for the same price as Ross, Burlington, Walmart or Marshalls. I have zero desire to shop with Goodwill given that fact.
Good for you, that place is crooked as hell anyway. They don't donate shit to charity, all profits go to the CEO's, yet after all this time they STILL get away with not having to pay taxes!
@@lonewolfsurvival3453 Seen a program on that where they million dollar bonuses and their handicap workers get some stupid low wage and they get away with it.
In the New England area we have a store called Savers that does the same thing..people drop off unwanted items(clothes, shoes, electronics etc) and Savers resells them.. I could see if at least a portion of the proceeds go to a charity or something but it doesn’t.. I understand it helps keep things from ending up in a landfill but in reality it’s just postponing things from ending up in a landfill..getting all your inventory for free and selling it for a profit is genius.
*And some of **_those_** donated items use to belong to me!!!!!!! That I've mistakenly left at a relatives home in the distant past, that really had no right to just selfishly give away like I wasn't ever going to see them again. And didn't even think of asking my express permission ! But I guess that's just what old age really does to ya.* 🤦♂️
The cost of doing business is through the roof. Even landlords and owners have bills. This is unsustainable. I cannot afford to exist. The cavalry ain't comin. I can't believe I'm still here.
I was in Sams Club, and they had some really great quality sweats for $ 25.00. Marked down half price. Sometimes you can find some really good deals at Sams Club.
This video was really intended for the viewers to notice and comment on how great of shape Lamont is now in. It's only disguised as being disgusted with the thrift store prices! See the way he panned the camera down the length of his body? Yes, Lamont we noticed you are looking FabUlous!! Healthy, strong, and Glowing!! You have every reason to be proud of yourself!! We are proud of you too!! ❤❤❤
I used to get sheets and blankets at the thrift store to cover my couches and for dog bedding. They used to be 1 to 2 dollars, last time I went they were 4-5 dollars.
Good will and thrift stores used to have BARGAINS! I think in the 90s I once found a beautiful denim sun dress for 8.00! I wore the crap out of that thing and always felt extra good that it had been such a good deal! If sweats at goodwill are 15.00? You might as well go to Walmart and buy brand new ones! They are only hurting themselves with these high prices. They get this stuff for free!!!
Same here in the northeast. Used to get shirts and pants for 3-4 dollars in decent shape around 10 years ago. Maybe brand new name brand shirts with tags still on would be $12. Now everything at all the chains is just flat priced 15 minimum. Wayyy cheaper to try and shop clearance racks at the few places that still do clearance or just buy from wal mart.
Same with up here with Goodwill in WA. The shitty part is that they are classified as a 503C or whatever the hell it is charity, which exempts them from paying taxes, yet all the profit they make goes into the CEO's pockets and not to charity. I don't shop there and haven't donated to them in years either. Can't believe that I used to work there, I mean no wonder the employees in the back steal all the good shit before it hits the floor, they get measly crumbs for working there. That place is not what people think it is, not even close. They help absolutely NOBODY, except the people at the top of their corporate ladder.
Any Sporting goods store such as Dicks, is a good place to shop. You can find what you're looking for. But truthfully Amazon would be better. Good luck!
You are 100% right. I use get old electronic stuff cheap. Who are the Thrift stores for surly not the poor. People need to boycott them and watch the price drop. The consumer always has the power but rarely uses it.
I shop at thrift stores often and I agree many of the items sold are very expensive to add to this unfairness they won't even mark the price down in some cases. If I'm going to the thrift store for one item and I don't find it very often I'll buy things I never intended to, so I end up spending more money. This has become a very bad habit that I am still trying to break. After All one of the main reasons to shop at thrift stores is to Save Money!
Goodwill is exceptionally expensive. If you are ever in Enid, Oklahoma on Wednesdays one thrift store has a 90% off on a different colored tag every week and some of the prices are very low.
I don’t do Goodwill or Salvation Army. They’re as high as Wally World. For the same brand used clothing. My city has many privately owned charitable thrifts. And they often do 50% off of already low prices. You could get men’s decent sweats in great condition for $6.99 and often, 50% off of that.
Yep, thrift stores are getting expensive, Our thrift store had a clock that hubby had been eyeing for 3 YEARS that they wanted $40 for. He goes there yesterday they had everything marked down 50%.. Take a guess what he bought for $20 😂😂
You can take DVDs to a place like half price books get pennies for them then they can sell them anywhere between 5.99 and up and its due to “supply and demand “
I work in a thrift store in Australia and we probably have the cheapest items on the whole East Coast of the County. Would sell you a decent pair of track pants/sweat pants for $2.
There's a free thrift store for the needy near me they take in free stuff and give food clothes house hold items baby stuff toys electronics for free if you're poor.
They use to price stuff to sell it quick not what the ebay value is. If you pay $2 for something that cost $50, selling it below at $20 is profitable with a faster turn around.
I work at the township dump for about 300 people I know 2 that take stuff to Goodwill, otherwise I find Tons of new washed always folded clothes in boxes in the dumpster all the time.
Goodwill here in FW Texas is INSANE on their prices. They've had multiple price hikes in the last few years. I can get clothing and shoes NEW cheaper at Ross.
Dollar General has them for around $10 lol, are you in Arlington? Thrift stores are crazy, I’m in north Ft.Worth near Keller and I don’t even thrift anymore it’s like full retail, plus the people around here are wack
My favourite places are charity shops I don’t buy from anywhere else there prices are great in my part off the uk It’s minus 7in Scotland this morning that’s the lowest I’ve seen it got 2 pairs off pjs on now because the government decided to take our heating allowance off pensioners therefore i will just have to suck it and get on with it 😂 Try and keep warm Lamont it’s no joke if your cold as you know Peace out Lamont ❤❤
it's because these weirdoes are wearing old used clothes as a new fashion trend. That just goes to show that the modern era of fashion is unfashionable. And it's not only the clothing, it's also the music.
Might aswell just buy them new for that price. Do you have charity shops in the US that sell clothing, i often use charity shops for t-shirts or jackets?
I stopped Shopping,at thrift stores because they raise their prices are too high. It’s really ridiculous.
goodwill in Bakersfield, CA now is as much as walmart, screw them.
You aren't lying!! Goodwill close to me sells used clothing for the same price as Ross, Burlington, Walmart or Marshalls. I have zero desire to shop with Goodwill given that fact.

My exhusband used to say we could just go to WalMart and put a few more dollars out for electronics so we didn’t buy electronics at thrift stores

What really bites is Goodwill gets their inventory for free. They sell donated items.

You can actually buy things new at Walmart cheaper than our goodwill
Same here.
That’s basically any Goodwill store
Same in Australia, thrift stores have gotten too expensive to shop at.
The cost of doing business is through the roof. Even landlords and owners have bills. This is unsustainable. I cannot afford to exist. The cavalry ain't comin. I can't believe I'm still here.
When have landlords not had bills? Did you feel smart?😂
@pabloescobar9461
You aren't a very nice man. P.S. Turn yourself in!
I can tell you've never signed a check on the front.@@pabloescobar9461
Goodwill donates to NOONE ! avoid them at all costs ! You give them for free, and they sell for profit solely for themselves. Maggot tactics.
I use to work at a Goodwill. Those people are crooks.
I was in Sams Club, and they had some really great quality sweats for $ 25.00. Marked down half price. Sometimes you can find some really good deals at Sams Club.
Sam’s got great clothes
@@gokathygo Yes and high quality

Thrift stores charge crazy prices here in the UK as well. Never bother with them now. Temu or Amazon cheaper!!!

You can find them cheaper at Walmart cheaper than tgat. That’s crazy 😂
Like B.B King said "the thrift is gone"
YOUVE LOST SOME WEIGHT...LOOKIN FRESH!
Totally, I used to go to Goodwill and Salvation army and get some deals, that's over too. I just buy new now, same price.
What a subject. Funny.

That's cute that you justify stealing though, I bet you have a huge problem with a waitress keeping her tips though right?
@@piggy310 what? Not sure I get your point. I tip pretty well, so of course not.
I quit thrift stores. They want like 7 bucks for T shirts.
If they have them go during half off days and when certain color tags are on sale.
Amazon has the best sweat pants so comfortable Pudolla brand Amazon lined with fleece has pockets $32.00 worth it 👌
Lined with fleece?
$32.00 is reasonable and he's been damn cold.
Thank you going shopping
Unc rocking’ those skinny sweats 😳

They used to have awesome deals but now the prices suck because they started selling on Amazon and eBay and markup what's left over.
Old Navy always has great sweats , good quality for cheaper.

Check you out, lookin all fine! I had to rewind 3 times oooh lawd !
You have expensive taste 😁
New sweats for $20 - $30 at Target. It is often the case now that the op-shops aka thrift stores price a lot of things well above retail.
It’s nice to see genuine people online anymore

Thank Biden!
Thrift stores are ripoff now a days! Even worn out T shirts still be trying to sell for 5 or 6 bucks!
Good afternoon Lamont.
Idk Why things are so expensive it's a mess that's must be why we miss the older days when things weren't so expensive
I think thrift stores raised prices on everything once they realized people buy low there and resell on line for a profit.
You're right again!!
You can get them in Croydon they have a cheep shop called Primark
They use to price stuff to sell it quick not what the ebay value is. If you pay $2 for something that cost $50, selling it below at $20 is profitable with a faster turn around.
They had $60. Sweats on sale at Meijer for $10.
Yep, Amazon is your friend Lamont 👌🏻
Great show keep up the amazing work be safe my friends God bless all from lovelaceville Ky

I work at the township dump for about 300 people I know 2 that take stuff to Goodwill, otherwise I find Tons of new washed always folded clothes in boxes in the dumpster all the time.
I just bought a pair on Amazon about an hour ago $9. 🎉
One of the thrift stores in my area wanted over $200 for a small yellow stained mattress.
What’s up BB love your channel
You look great in those pants !!!

Yeah they’ve bumped up the prices quite a bit
Thrift stores and Goodwill are razing customers on items they are getting for free or ‘donated.’

Hi Lamont ✌️

Men's sweatpants at Walmart for $10. Brand new 😂

Grab a snuggy bro. Youll be happy af
It’s bc the young kids ruined it by re selling thrifted clothing for hundreds of dollars. Thrift stores caught on..
My favorite BB❤
Walmart has nice sweat pants and there a lit cheaper than that freaking thrift store
No joke, used stuff like 1/2 price instead of 1/4
I've never found much of interest in a goodwill
lamont lose the stash bro you look like 1 of thoes guys on TO CATCH A PREDATOR
Thrifting became trendy so that’s that
Might aswell just buy them new for that price. Do you have charity shops in the US that sell clothing, i often use charity shops for t-shirts or jackets?
20 years ago they would have sold for 4 or 5 dollars 😂
Go to resale shops, they’re way cheaper than thrift stores
Same thrift store expensive
The old THEFT store
