Looking good, guys! The dash came out nice. I'm a former smoker, and as much as I'd like to see Ed quit I know that ain't likely to happen, so it'd probably be best to put the ashtray in it. I like the fact that the "hardware" store also has a lumber and grocery department. Small town living at its best. 👍
Had just taken a sip of coffee when Michelle answered "belt spinner arounder" and now my computer screen is covered in coffee. Thanks Michelle. Maybe you guys should publish a book with Michell's words for things. Thanks for the great videos Fab Rats team.

I myself have made use of a road sign from time to time I've known people around these parts to use road signs to do the whole bottom of the cabs on jeep and old 4wd pickups
Anybody who says they get everything right the first time when customizing something is a liar, Michelle is such a good sport, and congrats to Graders on getting his engine going, 👍, what the heck was in that brake-line anyway?, it's a good thing that Ben tested it before putting it on, I probably wouldn't have, I would've just put it on, and then pulled my hair out when I went to start it, great save Ben, and good look-n-out!, Ed's a smoker, so I gotta go with the ashtray, he can put a radio somewhere else if he wants one, all you guys are awesome, and thanks for sharing.
Ya Know, all my life (I'm 60) every man I have ever seen work on a vehicle has thrown a hissy fit over every little thing in the process! the F- bombs flying, tools flying and just mad as a hornet and I have always thought how ridiculous they acted. Put the ash tray back in it! Paul, you did good on the dash! Ben did a good job on the brake lines! And Graydon did good with his Lego motor I'm thinking!
There is so much good stuff with family, friends and acquaintances. To single anyone out doesn’t give justice to everyone. Although the glue that’s binds it all together is Paul’s confidence and ambition. This is fun.

heater goes under dash
Or some kinda of over head unit so the ash tray can stay original
JUST LIKE WE DID IN THE 70IES!!!!!!! BUT looking at the pics, isn't there a place on the dash for a radio already???
Glue the ashtray to the window
Been watching for a loooong time, and I wasn’t sure about new people coming into frame for Fab Rats. But I gotta say, Ben is a perfect fit👍🏼
Ed most definitely needs the ash tray. You guys are doing and AWESOME job for Ed!
Can’t wait to see it done and Ed’s face when he receives it
I don't know any more than you do....BUT, I would bet there will be A MONSTER VIDEO when Ed is presented with this......There has to be some serious planning in the works.
Us guys would say, "Hey Ed, check this out." Then toss Ed the keys....But there ain't no way the ladies will allow that.....Gonna be a PAR TAY!
I didn't know the leaf spring holders were called shackles! Great job, Michelle! Taught me something today! 😊
Same tho
Great job! Cannot wait to see Ed's face when he sees the final product.
The unveiling is going to be epic. Of course everyone involved has something up their sleeve for the final moment of the reunion of Ed the rocon, trailer and the Golden Nugget. It's probably going to be the most watched videos ever on this tube of you. You'll laff, you'll cry, you'll . . . ? Matt's "Kramer" will be proud , no matter how bad your ride is everyone gets stuck once in a while. That's is what friends are for.
MEEEE 2
It's nice to see the whole family working on projects. Yes you too Michelle I know you're working behind The scene.
You’ve never worked in the same shop with a wife
@@bobthompson4133 You've never truly been in love with your wife. You make assumptions so can I.
I LOVE your channel because it is so normal/natural and down to earth that normal people can relate to it, not like a lot of channels out there where people are trying so hard to be un-natural hollywood stars. Keep up the good work guys. Tons of LOVE♥ from me in Sweden. ☺
I agree ! With Michelle’s car knowledge y’all can go places . Lol
Watching this on Father's Day I'm impressed with your children wander in and out and working on all kinds of stuff. As someone who grew up "holding the flashlight" I see the value in your family's interactions. Wonderful job!
Here here those kids are getting the best education in the world, great kids start at home. They are so lucky
i am so amazed at the QUALITY of the work from the whole team and it just keeps on going!!!! Great video and keep it going on!!!
Paul is such a good fabricator...he doesn't always get something perfect the first try, but he always comes up with something very strong, functional and/or good looking all at the same time when he is done. And between he and Ben they've got some serious mechanical ability experience. The Fab Rats channel has some of the best automotive/vehicle related content on UA-cam, hands down. Thanks for the great videos Fab Rats team.
The instrument cluster looks fantastic, great job! The ash tray is a must for Ed but you could install a stereo in the glove box or possibly under the dash. Also are you going to polish, rattle can or have Robbie anodize the wiper arms?
Black Ceracote on the arms
I swear if Ed doesn't cry when he gets the Nugget I'm going to cry! This is awesome that you guys are doing this for him! I love it👏🏾
Ed's old-school. I think we're going to have to imagine the tears that he's really feeling inside.
LOVE USING THE ROAD SIGN, NOW THAT IS REALLY RECYCLING
Caps stuck?
but.... has the Roads Department realized the sign is missing yet? 😄
Wonderful work on the dash bezel. Measure four times, cut once. That's what its gotta be if you want it looking great!
Hats off to you Paul for making that jump to cut into the dash, I know it had to be done but still. Love the atmosphere around the shop, it makes you want to just pull up a chair and visit for a while. I live in Texas and we’re pretty friendly here, glad to see Utah has some good folks to.
That was a great solution for the gauges. Precision made. Hope Suzuki is watching. The Nugget looks better than new. Ash tray makes more sense for Ed.
I myself have made use of a road sign from time to time I've known people around these parts to use road signs to do the whole bottom of the cabs on jeep and old 4wd pickups
Holy crap i had no idea you could use a caliper like that to measure bolt hole depth to find bolt length, so cool. Thank you!
FABRATS: They do it so nice I watch it twice 😎
The flappers on the tractor are facing the wrong way. They are meant to not blow open in the wind when moving forward.
The cluster came out amazing, good job man! I vote ashtray for sure!
Can't wait to see this all put together. By far the best build I've seen on UA-cam to date.
Chad is great addition to the shop. Great attitude. Too bad he lives sooooo far away!
Couldn't agree more 😁 I'd love to live in the Glendale area! Maybe one day....
Thank you Michelle for the comic highlights;.."the 5 legged wire holder" is priceless!
Ya Know, all my life (I'm 60) every man I have ever seen work on a vehicle has thrown a hissy fit over every little thing in the process! the F- bombs flying, tools flying and just mad as a hornet and I have always thought how ridiculous they acted. I am sure you have your moments, but I just love watching you, so calm and always smiling and downright a nice guy with a big, beautiful heart! Your lovely wife definitely found a great man to spend her life with and father her children. Thank you. You are such a joy to watch.
I think you should put the ashtray back where it was, and mount the radio under the dash or in the glove box
I don't remember being able to have fun in a fab shop when I was on the mission.😉 I will see you next month. I hope we will be there before the Golden Nugget is done.
She's comin' along. The dash modification looks sweet! Also, just wanted to say, I think Ben is a great addition to the channel! Keep up the great work guys, you're a great team!! P.S. Good one on the "Shackle" answer, Michelle! 👍
Amazing job everyone that's been involved in the saving of the Nugget to the Full Restoration.
I don't think there will ever be a LJ20 this detail oriented redone ever.
Put the ash tray back in it! Paul, you did good on the dash! Ben did a good job on the brake lines! And Graydon did good with his Lego motor I'm thinking!
Paul, tell me you weren’t a little nervous when you started drilling and cutting that dash😳
There is so much good stuff with family, friends and acquaintances. To single anyone out doesn’t give justice to everyone. Although the glue that’s binds it all together is Paul’s confidence and ambition. This is fun.
Happy Father's day to all God bless you all, nuget is looking great
Chad the Man!!! in the house. You know it won't be long when Chad gets here.
Following this one closely, excellent work from everyone who's involved. Can't wait to see it completed and in Ed's hands.
Ed is a smoker, ash tray it is.... lol That dash came out looking awesome! When someone cares about what they are doing, it shows up in the quality of their work. It shows that the whole project was done by people who care!
Ya’ll can be so proud of what yer doin for Ed. He’s gonna love it. I think an ashtray is probably the better choice 4 Ed. The Nugget looks brand new!!!
It's good to see P-Day being put to good use, wish we had a fab rats to go hang out with. You guys are killing it!
Ashtray! Ed's like me, smokes like a fish...Love every video, I look forward to them like it's Christmas every time you put out a new one. Much love and respect, and God bless you and yours.
Happy Father’s Day FabRats and the FabRat Fanatics! Great way to start Father’s Day with a Golden Nugget episode! Thanks for the ride along 👍👍👍
Boom ! you guys are great !! I love the no-drama lets just get it handled approach !! Awesome. Bet he's ( Ed ) going to cry tears of joy.
You're going to have to set up a special viewing area so everyday Ed can watch a few hours per day of how much time you guys spent putting this back together.
Ed's a smoker, so give him the ashtray. I can't hardly wait for the day he finally sees the Nugget. Great work, y'all.
I have never seen a brake line with a restriction like that that was brand new!!!! That's terrible!! This is sure looking superb!!
All the best from Surrey BC Canada
That was some very nice fabrication you did on that cluster dash panel, looks very good indeed. Rock on guys. PS . Ed Smokes so give him his ash tray.
most working class folks that I grew up with from Ed's generation didn't listen to radio much while driving. I say ash tray. Also you all are doing a great job.
I really like how Jr diagnosed his own rig! TOP WORK KIDDO! 5:38
What a great family garage, everyone working on thier own projects
What a great start to a great day! Thanks Fab Rats!!
The instrument cluster looks fantastic, great job! The ash tray is a must for Ed but you could install a stereo in the glove box or possibly under the dash. Also are you going to polish, rattle can or have Robbie anodize the wiper arms? completely!
*To Michelle* and anyone else that's part of the editing team: I _LOVED_ the fabrication montage at 10:51 and the music you used made it epic.
Ash tray by a mile. Once again, it was a pleasure watching you guys work on the Nugget. The attention to detail and the meticulous way you are putting things together are top notch. KUDOS
There's a right way to do things, and then a wrong way to do things. I prefer the FAB RATS way of doing things!!!
love what you guys do! Happy Father's day!
Happy Father's Day Paul! Michelle you are looking great! Thank you both for sharing your lives, I really enjoy your videos and never miss them. God bless.
Top class job on the Dash Paul. Now i`m going over to Chad`s Fab to see how he is doing with the wiring.
Excellent work on the dash! I would vote for the Ash Tray not the radio. coming right along with the nugget
Great to see the whole crew in the shop getting it done. The kids have some interesting projects going on also, future mechanics in the works.I glad Popa Dars shoulder is getting better.
It's awesome how the young'ns are involved and comfortable in the shop.
The gauge cluster couldn't look any better. Great work as always. Ed would use the ashtray more than the music. There is no way Ed could imagine just how many man hours the Nugget has had spent on it by so many different people unless someone could put everybody's videos together for him to watch. It would give him something else to tell stories about how he came to have the best and most expensive LJ20 on the planet.
I’m shocked you didn’t paint the wiperblade arms black
Fantastic job an the nugget! And from one dad to another, Happy Father's Day Paul. Hope it's a great one.
Have you thought of contacting Suzuki in Japan ,sending them all the work that has gone into fixing the Golden nugget and seeing if they would like to donate something special for the project, worth a try.
Hard to believe that’s the Jeep that Matt’s team dragged through woods and through a small river. Amazing work. 👍
Just parts of the frame.
The old body was junk.
I get anxious when Paul goes near new paint lol
Great work👍 And I love how you have raised the kids to be creative and unafraid to tackle challenges. My father gave me that gift, and it served me well for many decades 💕
Great job you guys, seriously we all love seeing all the challenges you have to overcome and see how you try to solve them. As for the vote? I vote Ash Tray.
I really can't wait to see this thing done and see how Ed reacts to it.
Stereo. Alpine deck, Focal mids and highs, 6 12" JL's, JL amps.
I *LOVE* seeing the kiddos working around you all on their own projects and having help when they need it. Y'all are such fantastic parents
Paul, I’m placing a call to the Utah OSHA, you weren’t wearing your safety goggles. As the father on Christmas Story said” you’ll poke your eye out”
All I can say is Paul is a God when it comes to anything mechanical!!!
Whoa! Did he just Cut the Golden Nugget 💀😬😲 @RobbyLayton Reaction Video coming soon LoL
