      the facial features were a lot more robust and angular, probably because ancient humans had significantly higher levels of testosterone in their body because of the much more strenuous living conditions and need to be physically robust and aggressive to survive, and the much smaller selection of potential mates didnt smooth out peoples' average facial features yet.

      There is substantial evidence genetically that ancient Isrealites were a mix between those original inhabitants (some of those traits I was shocked to realize I have) and many other groups (haplogroup E from the Horn of Africa, Egypt and G from the Caucasus/Zagros for instance) (Even the R subclade belonging to Levite Ashkenazi Jewish populations is theorized to have originated very close to Syria and Turkey). They very much descended from the native Canaanite and Phoenician population without question. As for modern Jews illegally immigrating to Palestine, genetically despite 500-2000 years of separation overwhelmingly are closer to Palestinians than one might believe [of course that amount of time made them halfway between European and ancient middle eastern but still].

    nice but generalizing far too much in the guise of pseudo-science. you can reconstruct an individual's face approximately, but not go on to say that they all looked like that. Imagine someone in 3'000 years finds the skull of your boss, or neighbour, or granny, and then goes on to say that you looked just like them!

    • @spook75a28
      @spook75a28 Рік тому +2

      Facial reconstruction, using the skull has been shown to be quite proven and mostly accurate. The human face regardless of race, has the same muscular structure, and once you are able to establish the muscles on the skull you already have a pretty good approximation. I imagine the only place they could really get it wrong is the size and shape of the nose, lips, and ears.
      The part I'm waiting for someone to cry about is that this video is using the proven science that you can very easily tell the race and sex of a person by only their skeleton. 30 years ago, this would be considered common sense, but today people get spun up on the notions that races and sexes are physically built differently. This is how science dies.

      The ancient Romans pinned the name "Palestine" on the Land of Israel. In 135 CE, after stamping out the province of Judea’s second insurrection, the Romans renamed the province Syria Palaestina-that is, “Palestinian Syria.” They did so resentfully, as a punishment, to obliterate the link between the Jews and their homeland.

      The term “Palestine” was used for millennia without a precise geographic definition. That’s not uncommon-think of “Transcaucasus” or “Midwest.” No precise definition existed for Palestine because none was required. Since the Roman era, the name lacked political significance. No nation ever had that name.
