I don't blame Dubois for a minute for wanting to quit this fight. Even then, people were wrong to call him a coward. I mean look at his goddamn face. He can't even open his one eye. What do the fans want him to do??? That he carries on fighting so he goes blind or seriously gets injured where he is unable to step into the ring again? It makes so much sense
Joyce is a 19 stone man that can do standing backflips so he has got fast twitch muscles. He would be dangerous if he learnt how to use that speed in the ring.
Joe joyce is relaxed and a quite introverted in front of the camera but very very strong and hard in the ring. Listen to all the pro heavyweights and what they say from experiencein the gym..! I.honestly think no one really wants to fight him
Joyce's technique is not so pretty but the way he used Dubois's aggressive style against Dubois himself is quite amazing. That chopping jab is very unique and effective.
The more I watch Joe in this fight the more I'm impressed. That jab was like Chinese water torture for Dubois, one after the other pumped into his face and Daniel just couldn't find a way round it. Joyce could sense his opponent wilting with the eye swelling and just targeted it until Daniel could take no more. Brutal stuff but very effective from Joyce and that jab will be a real problem for everyone outside of Usyk and Fury who have the movement to escape it more.
I was going for DDD on points but I am not disappointed. Joe went into this fight more humble and fully deserved the win. He actually won with minimum effort, using his jab and solid chin.
DDD on points? That was a terrible call. It was always either going to be a Dubois stoppage or Joyce on the long game. Joyce also had better defensive movement and variation; he boxed well. Still very slow, though.

Ironic how people are acting like they picked Joyce to win, 90% of the boxing world expected Dubois to KO him. Fans are fickle af bandwagoners, would be ripping Joyce if he lost. Credit to both men for taking the risk in a true 50/50 on paper. Great performance by Joe, he broke him down, has a chin made of Nokia and unreal stamina to boot, wasn't even breathing heavy. As for Dubois, 23 apparently broke his orbital and might have a detached retina, wise move live to fight another day. Joyce at 35 needed this win.
@@4879daniel Dubois has the power, problem is he can not sustain it and at the level he is fighting he needs to be able to sustain each attack much more than he did last night, Joyce is nothing special but he took the best Dubois had and easily soaked it up all night long, as bad as Dubois eye was for me he quit far to easily, after 4 rounds Dubois was gassing big time, not really sure he went on one knee because of his eye think it was more to do with the fact he had absolutely zero to give, i don't really rate either boxers as top heavyweight contenders for me they are pretty dam average at best.
Great respect to both men. Great performance by Joyce. DDD will come again... however Are We just going to ignore the fact that Frank Warren has been saying AJ was a quitter against Ruiz after getting off the canvas 4 times? When his boy just took a knee as he wanted out 🤷🏻♂️

@@craigl6050 once he covered that eye the jab was more effective but Dubois should’ve known Joyce wouldn’t let him inside and it would be a battle of jabs
This fight surely came too soon for Dubois. People didn't rate Joyce that highly at the time, so the fight was seen as natural stepping stone progression for Dubois. Well people are waking up to Joe Joyce and the tremendous threat he poses to anyone in the HW division. After seeing this fight and the Parker fight I'm now a believer. This guy hits ridiculously hard and can take almost anything thrown at him. Tbh initially he bored me, but now I'm desperate to see him in the ring with the best. And Dubois will be up at the top level soon enough. Really looking forward to seeing him in the ring against another top HW.
He has improved a lot. And is a great fighter. But I think he would struggle with both usyk and fury . He just doesn't have enough skill to hit them. Both usyk and fury could take the odd punch here and there. But both would win on points. I think JJ could do wilder, and AJ though. For sure.
Joe actually showed real sportsmanship, after he hit Daniel on the eye he could have taken him out but he still gave Daniel time before he took a knee.
Had to check I wasn't watching this on 0.5 speed, never seen such slow movement 🙈 Even in the 2nd it looked like they'd been going at it for hours already
Joyce was so confident about this fight all along, him and his trainer knew Dubois is a naive, inexperienced and not hugely intelligent fighter, like a Tesco value Wilder, one trick pony and his corner failed to tell him that as Joyce was going right the whole fight he needed to use the left hook to send him back the other way. Typical Frank Warren scenario, feed him Cab drivers and Goat herders to bump up the fight count then throw him in 50 levels higher and wonder why he gets found out.
Don't bring up WILDER, who Fury cheated by having a glove with NO padding. Wilder's ONE TRICK KOd almost everybody, including nearly Fury the first time, so much so Fury had to come back the SECOND TIME with cheating. Sorry....
@@SuperJuvent On video, and photos. In fact, there were 26 rabbit punches thrown by Fury on Wilder from rounds 2-7 alone. A good video series on it is done by Young Pharaoh. Look it up. This explains why Fury is trying to duck Wilder and not give him the rubber match, causing Wilder to file a claim against him. Fury is a cheat, and his supporters are clowns.
@youtube watcher UNintentional as they duck his power shots, and he throws haymakers, whereas Fury's shots were INTENTIONAL to the back of his head during CLINCHES. Thus Apples and Oranges, my friend.
What an interesting fighter Joe Joyce is! A nice tight basic approach matched to incredible durability... I'm pleasantly surprised. A very well matched fight, huge respect to both fighters. 👍
Correct. Too many non fighters want to see matrix style movement and ultra combos but don't realise that what looks good on a bag on Instagram won't work against an opponent with power who's hitting back. Joyce done the right thing. Totally nullified Dubois power and as I always tell my lads, a jab is the most basic yet most important punch. It's sets everything else up but it's ability to break down an opponent mentally and therefore physically cannot be underestimated
I can't get the image of a 80s computer game boxer out of my head when I watch Joyce, I almost expect a little 'dudleludleloo' noise when a punch connects
Frank Warren, BT pundits, BT commentators and the judges all desperately wanted Dubois to win! How did one judge have Dubois ahead by 5 rounds! Even the commentary is so biased towards Dubois. This is why I watch fights on mute.
Imagine any of these two in with a proper heavyweight. Dubois blowing out his hole after 4 rounds then quits. Joyce is that slow he would become a punching bag for the elite.
Don't underestimate him. I truly only believe Fury (well ahead) and Joshua (slightly ahead) are ACTUALLY better at the moment. Wilders biggest weapon will be useless against the guy with arguably the best chin in the division and great stamina. Joyce has a real chance
This was a very interesting contest, Joe didn't really seem that phased from the big shots of Daniel who is known for being a really big puncher. That was a great test for Joe's chin. He isn't the fastest boxer in the world so he needs to have a good chin. Daniel did well too, his chin stood up to a few hits but to be honest, big Joe wasn't even out of second gear, a very controlled performance
I honestly don’t know what to say about this. Joyce proved me wrong. Jabs like he forgets what he’s doing half way through but by god was it effective. And he looked fresh as ever in that 10th round. Hats off to him. Well done, Joyce.

Dubois is 23. Crazy to think Mike Tyson at age 23 had a record of 37-0 and was undisputed champion and made more money than any other fighter at that point. He was only 23 when he lost to Buster Douglas.
He fought bin men , uber drivers, and doormen the entire way through his early career. Mike Tyson lost to every decent fighter he fought. Prove me wrong, give. me some names. Stop living with the Tyson myth.
I think there’s a trade off! Most heavyweights wouldn’t be there or let those shots land because they’re faster! But Joyce is far slower but can take those shots! Joyce is different to many other heavyweights and that makes him dangerous
Joyce is always 260 lbs and he looks quite natural at that weight too This guy is big boned like George Foreman. It may look funny but the reward is having super heavy hands and extreme toughness.
BLINK should be his nickname!! His face doesn't mark ,his movements great and hits like a sledge!! But that chin, been watchin boxin for forty years, and after watching all his fights I've never seen a heavyweight take such punches with virtually no reaction other than a slight tremor!! Who could knock him out, not who's he going to knock out as that's a given. The hardest man I've ever seen boxing.
Respect for Dubois, who cared about his health and career at the same time, he's still young and has potential, he'd definitely learn alot from this fight, however Joyce came in with a plan and strategy, his reach and timing was caused huge problems for Dubois, also he seem to have good chin and heart!
He made the right decision
They both seem incredibly slow
Tyson vs Jones was way more spectacular fight...
Joyce is a 19 stone man that can do standing backflips so he has got fast twitch muscles. He would be dangerous if he learnt how to use that speed in the ring.
Says someone who wouldn’t last 20 seconds in a ring with either of them 😂
@@user-ow1jh8yb5j not the point hes not a boxer he doesnt have to... but they have to survive 20 seconds vs Tyson or wilder XD
Yes maybe but they got big power I believe.
Joe has a strange way of punching, but must hurt as boxers seem to find him hard to beat.. Daniel needs to stop ✋ power punching and use ring IQ
Bit of head movement and feinting wouldn't go amiss. Going to the body instead of headhunting all the time might help too
Joe joyce is relaxed and a quite introverted in front of the camera but very very strong and hard in the ring. Listen to all the pro heavyweights and what they say from experiencein the gym..! I.honestly think no one really wants to fight him
Daniel is only young he’s a lot to Leann yet he has potential
Joyce's technique is not so pretty but the way he used Dubois's aggressive style against Dubois himself is quite amazing. That chopping jab is very unique and effective.
Joyce's jab is like my aunt Joyce after she's had a few sherrys.
She can't come over this year mate, COVID.
@@jamesjarrett52 🤣 the amount of sherry she drinks, covid shmovid 🤣
Relentless
Joyce beat Dubois with his jab alone.
Like GGG did against david lemieux, the best strategy to beat a hard puncher is sharp consistent jab !
I would have liked to see a few more right hands from Joe Joyce, especially when his opponent's left eye was closing up.
@@constantfind9052 so true. Keeping calm under the most extreme pressure is as big a quality as having a great skillset.
Chinese water torture for dubois ironic as joyce got Chinese torture by zhang
@Zane The pain Try using full stops and commas.
Since Joe Joyce beaten Daniel, i like the matchup between Joyce vs Ajagba. Make it happen guys!
Dubois can rebuild he’s still got years left. But he will always have that quit in him. Well done Joyce what a chin he has
Yeah but Joyce took his best shots and his power was supposed to be his key attribute.
Absolutely right.
Please ,please ,please name a boxer who quit and turned out to be a great please who, Dubois has not got championship heart ,he's a weak heart.
At 22 years old with the little amateur experience that he has this level of opponent was a bit too early for him.
He'll bounce back.
Great respect to both men. Great performance by Joyce. DDD will come again... however Are We just going to ignore the fact that Frank Warren has been saying AJ was a quitter against Ruiz after getting off the canvas 4 times? When his boy just took a knee as he wanted out 🤷🏻♂️
Exactly what I thought,he would defend this I know.
Broken eye socket and blinded. Stupid comment
Boxing isn't the same without the fans and crowds, feels dead and empty.
The atmosphere would have been something else and a crowd can really lift a fighter, drive him on.Don't know if the outcome would have been any different though.
Ddd needs to learn
how to move his head ,and realise he can't eat jabs all night 🙄
@Johan T. Troff wtf u on about?
Well done Joe. Time to head off to Matchroom 👊
Supported
True. He needs money to retire on .
Why would he head to match room.lol Billy Joe went match room and got nothing. BT and Warren have taken over
BT is low key taking over mate. They hardly have to do any press work. Frank has a loyal fan base of 40 years experience. He knows what he's doing
@@majidhussain3235 don’t be silly. There is a certain Pandemic that has done that to Billy Joe. That and him messing people about.
Shocking commentary. Constantly milking Dubois even when he was clearly losing the rounds.
The jab showing once again how important it is very underrated punch but my god does Joe punch in slow motion
can't be that slow because Dubois couldn't avoid his jab...
@@craigl6050 they both are how averages heavyweights supposed to look. Not everyone can be fast and agile like Fury😂

I agree 👍 💯
Especially after a few tinnies
Agree
100%
So true. The red is a blur.
Joyce's old promoter Sam Jones said the exact same thing in the build-up.
He has improved a lot. And is a great fighter. But I think he would struggle with both usyk and fury . He just doesn't have enough skill to hit them. Both usyk and fury could take the odd punch here and there. But both would win on points. I think JJ could do wilder, and AJ though. For sure.
Chinese dude kicked his slow ponderus arse
Joe actually showed real sportsmanship, after he hit Daniel on the eye he could have taken him out but he still gave Daniel time before he took a knee.
He's a very underrated boxer and an honourable man. Very likeable guy.
Completely correct sir. A very decent thing to do. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
He never hits a hurt opponent. Many times he could have landed a punch or two more but he holds back. True man of the sport
The second Dubois hit Joyce with his best shot and he Joyce took it no probs, Dubois was DONE! what a QUITER
Dubois was done many years before that when his coaches neglected to teach him head movement
Joyce was very feel in This fight , usyk fans won't like that
Had to check I wasn't watching this on 0.5 speed, never seen such slow movement 🙈 Even in the 2nd it looked like they'd been going at it for hours already
Slow fighters with no future
Sorry....
@@Nonpeon where are the proofs ??
@@SuperJuvent On video, and photos. In fact, there were 26 rabbit punches thrown by Fury on Wilder from rounds 2-7 alone. A good video series on it is done by Young Pharaoh. Look it up. This explains why Fury is trying to duck Wilder and not give him the rubber match, causing Wilder to file a claim against him. Fury is a cheat, and his supporters are clowns.
@youtube watcher
UNintentional as they duck his power shots, and he throws haymakers, whereas Fury's shots were INTENTIONAL to the back of his head during CLINCHES. Thus Apples and Oranges, my friend.
Watching the fight it was quickly obvious that if Dubois can't KO someone in the first 3 rounds he runs out of ideas
Or is exhausted from them flurry's he does, overrated fighter, he got outboxed by a jab and a straight all fight, congratulations to Joe obviously
Lol
What an interesting fighter Joe Joyce is! A nice tight basic approach matched to incredible durability... I'm pleasantly surprised. A very well matched fight, huge respect to both fighters. 👍
Good boxing brain. Smart and calm.
@@wanna-be-cowboy - Agreed 👍
I can't get the image of a 80s computer game boxer out of my head when I watch Joyce, I almost expect a little 'dudleludleloo' noise when a punch connects
Spot on...
Barry McGuigan's Boxing for the ZX Spectrum was my game man lol!
Impressive athleticism at the end with that cartwheel for such a big man
Frank Warren, BT pundits, BT commentators and the judges all desperately wanted Dubois to win! How did one judge have Dubois ahead by 5 rounds! Even the commentary is so biased towards Dubois. This is why I watch fights on mute.
I think I'll do the same now also
Warren just lost his cash 🐮
Jay I watch all sport on mute. When I go to live matches I don't need a commentator! They forget it's called teleVISION.😀
Imagine any of these two in with a proper heavyweight.
Dubois blowing out his hole after 4 rounds then quits.
Joyce is that slow he would become a punching bag for the elite.
Name 3 elite current heavyweights ??
Dubois is frank Bruno 2.0 still needs a lot of work

Dubois is 23. Crazy to think Mike Tyson at age 23 had a record of 37-0 and was undisputed champion and made more money than any other fighter at that point. He was only 23 when he lost to Buster Douglas.
